  1. Hundreds of members here, who understand, and agree with your way of thinking. Welcome.
  2. Welcome to the forum. As others have said, start by choosing someting that you are interested in subject-wise. Also, don't be afraid to ask questions as you go, First and foremost, enjoy, relax, and have fun.
  3. Thanks for the reply Pat. I need to work on making myself clearer when posting. Do the wheel arches and front splitter make up one kit and the Halibrand wheels and tires a separate kit?
  4. Pat, nice score on the C1 kit(s). Do the wheels come in the Mustang kit, or are they a separate kit? I picked up three C1 kits at the NNL East back in April. Now I just need to get the actual donor kits. LOL
  5. Thanks for posting Dale. I did not know that Beemax/Aoshima had gotten into the F-1 game. Would it be possible for you to take photos of the individual sprues inside their bags? I am assuming that there are not any Marlboros. Please tell me that it is 1/20. The old Protar 1/24 kit is a little soft in the detail department. In any event, another great addition for F-1 modellers.
  6. Frank, when you do a limited run, how many wheel sets would that usually be? Or, does it depend on the wheel you are doing?
  7. Given the age of the kit, you have more than done it justice. A beautiful example of this classic McLaren Indy car. Thanks for sharing.
  8. a clean, well detailed build. Nicely done Douglas.

    Mad Mach1

Creative thinking with a fun result.
  10. Thanks for the link JC. Some interesting pairings to say the least. Sad to say that both the Ferrari 641 and Tyrrell P34 were lagging behind in their respective brackets, when I voted. LOL
  11. Will be a well done and muscular-looking 240 ZG. I'm on board for this ride.
  12. Nicely done. I will be watching for final pics in Under Glass.
  13. Anti-SHINY! I like it.
  14. Ebbro F-1 kits are 1/20, probably to correspond with Tamiya's line.
  15. Thoroughly enjoyed this article. Thank you very much for posting it Art.
  16. Iwata, double action, gravity feed. Neo, Revolution, Eclipse are in ascending price order. I don't believe in buying cheap when it comes to modelling tools. I prefer acrylic paints, and there are lots of brands out there including Tamiya. For spray, go with Tamiya. It is a modified lacquer and sprays on superbly right from the can. They have amazing primers.
  17. My signature shows where I'm from, and I like and have used BNA as well.
  18. Already have one of Revell's DTM BMWs. Given the graphics, I would definitely be up for one of these. Heck yeah!!!!
  19. Bruce, are you going to buy the Scale Motorsport photo etch set that builds the entire tub with photo etch replacing the plastic tub piece?
  20. It depends. Some I open right away, but I usually leave the inner bags intact. The only time I tear everything open is when I start a kit. But then I have many that have been opened, started, but are not finished yet ... some more than ten to fifteen years ago.
  21. Looks great! Tamiya? Hasegawa? Outstanding work on what must have been a decal challenge.
  22. I agree with you Ray. Sometimes there is barely enough room to allow you to crouch down to see what is under the vendors' tables as well as what is on them. I guess that shows are trying to maximize the number of vendor tables sold, as that is one of the ways that shows make money.
  23. Are XMODS and XS wheels the same thing? I thought they were different. Just wondering...
  24. Happy New Year Lawrence. I just went to Amazon.ca and used the search "airbrush gravity feed". Here is the link: http://www.amazon.ca/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_16?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=airbrush%20gravity%20feed&sprefix=airbrush+gravity%2Caps%2C465 Lots of results. You indicated you were on a budget. Temptation would be to go with the lowest price option. Although cheaper airbrushes might outwardly look the same, machining and tolerances are quite different, yielding drastically different performance, results and longevity. I would forgo the purchase of a few kits and invest in a good brush (Badger, Paasche, Iwata). Some may boast about what a cheap deal they scored, but ultimately you get what you pay for. Quality is not cheap, nor should it be. Surprisingly I did see a link on eBay that clearly shows that Tamiya has teamed up with Sparmax for a gravity feed gun. Tamiya is a name linked to quality. Also, Sparmax I believe is the company that private brands Iwata compressors. I know, more food for thought to add to your decision making, LOL. Good luck with your search. Personally I started way back with a Tamiya SprayWork System (trigger style). I now have Iwata, Paasche, and Sparmax airbrushes. P.S. I still have my good old Tamiya SprayWork System. Up until recently, I still used it in my classroom when I did my year-end model building sessions with my Grade 5 classes.
  25. Wayne, I have used the stuff, but not for modelling. It doe create an extremely strong bond. One warning. It tends to react almost like an expanding foam. It does not necessarily stay only on the location where it was originally applied.
