  1. The engine and chassis are the great combo from the Revell ’37 Ford Coupe Street Rod. The chassis features independent front and rear suspension. The front being A-arm and the rear based on the Corvette C2/3/4 design. The Chevrolet engine features tuned port fuel injection which I always thought was a great looking induction system and a good looking accessory belt drive. The chrome reverse wheels are from a Rev/Mon 1/24 ’32 Ford Roadster releases. Testors Chevrolet Orange was used on the engine and wheels.
  2. Very well done and great looking 429.
  3. Great seeing two birdcages together. I really like the look of the stacks poking out of the hood on #30
  4. After two and half years I finally got back to this project and I am now almost finished. I will post various sub-assembles over the next few days as I get them ready final completion. BODY - Added distinctive ‘35/’36 molding under windows and above rear bumper using Evergreen Styrene half-rounds and lots of putty. Recessed firewall using section from ‘37 kit. Adapted the ’37 inner fender splash panels.
  5. Thanks everyone. I have always had a fondness for customs since I first discovered there were cars other than stock. I devoured "little pages" mags that I bought super cheap at a used book and magazine shop.
  6. I assembled this ’41 Ford Custom Convertible while on vacation but I started building it a number of years ago before the Revell ’48 Ford Custom Coupe was released. I like the look of the ’41 Ford front end and needed the woody body from the AMT kit for another project so the ’48 became a ’41. The chopped Carson top that came with the kit was smoothed reminiscent of the steel lift-off roof on the Ohanesian/Westergard/Bertolucci ’40 Ford convertible sedan. Housings for both the headlights and taillights were frenched and the fenders molded to the body. In order to get the car as low as possible, the body was channelled about 4 scale inches. Both front and rear suspension cross members were replaced with flatter ones to gain additional lowering. The Sombrero hubcaps came from the Revell ’49 Mercury while the fenders skirts are from Replicas and Miniatures. I cannot remember where I sourced the Desoto bumpers. The engine is the stock flathead. I will have to wait until I get home to find an air cleaner that will fit under the hood. The paint, which I did have untypical problems with, is Testor’s rattle can Honduras Maroon lacquer topped with Testor’s lacquer clear. The interior is Testor’s leather.
  7. That old parts pak Cady is sure a sweet looking engine!!
  8. This is a really nice traditional 5-W Deuce Coupe. The combination of all the various parts you used works very well.
  9. You did a fantastic job capturing the Race of Gentlemen look for your '29. It looks great both with top and windshield as well as topless. Nice job on the flathead as well.
  10. Great story and pretty nice model of a car I always thought was very appealing and still check out whenever I see one.
  11. Fantastic looking rally car from what is obviously a pretty impressive kit.
  12. Thank you Jonathon and Chris. I love white styrene!
  13. Sweet 48. Wish I had a car that looked this back in High School!!
  14. Does anyone know if this new re-release is molded in white? My old kit is molded in red which is my least favorite styrene to work with. I am guessing it might be white styrene as the build up posted on the Revell website is yellow which would difficult over red. I have been wanting to build a Monster Miata version with a 1/24 FI Ford 5-liter from the Revell 55 Ford Pickup.
  15. Totally well done. Enjoyed checking it out very much.
  16. Fantastic work on the engine. It is a beautiful stand alone model on its own right.
  17. Definitely makes a great looking model right from the box. Your color choice is perfect.
  18. Very nicely done transformation. All the modifications are well integrated. The Phantom Vickie kit contains a bunch of great parts and is a great starting point for a custom hot rod build.
  19. My parents had a beige 62 Galaxie 500 four-door with clear plastic seat covers. I got to drive it occasionally and never really liked it but I DO LIKE your model. It looks like you did a very good job.
  20. After giving the body its first coat of primer I could not resist mounting it to the chassis to see how it looks. This must have been sort of how the 26 white Trans-Am notchbacks built by Shelby looked as they were being finished.
  21. Extremely cool. Always a fan of split windows having owned a 65 sunroof back in the 70's
  22. Mine lagged both wheels and tires so what you say my have been the cause!!??
  23. Turned out pretty nice. I have had the same kit in my stash for quite sometime and hope to one day build it as I have always been attracted to Boxers. Did you built it so the doors, headlights and engine cover open?
  24. Very impressive craftsmanship. Could be almost displayed Under Glass as is!!
  25. You got a 34 wagon and you call it a woody, surf city there you go. I couldn't resist. Very cool and well done Art.
