I love the way you create a story for your models and this story, model and photos are a real treat.

Great paint job on your Deuce. It is good to see another Phaeton which seem to have regained some popularity amongst modellers along with Victorias. Interesting editorial in this month's Street Rodder entitled "Where Have All The Phaetons Gone?"

I am really digging both of your fastback Cougars. You may have to build a few more with different roof and spoiler combinations but I am sure all will be very cool.

1929 Model A Roadster ArtDeco/Coachbuilt/Streamliner -DONE!
Phildaupho replied to Impalow's topic in WIP: Model Cars
This is really looking spectacular. I especially like how you have kept the '29 body essentially stock. -
I finally got back to the workbench a couple of weeks ago after a two month break. Since then I have been painting parts and just finished assembling the cockpit area. Next up will be installing the engine/transaxle/rear suspension assembly.

I like your Ford and bet this color combo would fantastic on a Hudson Hornet as well !!

Very well done. Could be mistaken for a Danbury Mint model which is intended as a compliment.

1965 Comet 202 Sedan hobby bracket racer

I am really impressed with your modifications and fabrication. It must be a thrill for you to bring your old drag car back to life in scale. -
'32 Ford Fordor Jalopy Racer - Larned, KS.circa 1958
Phildaupho replied to Bernard Kron's topic in Model Cars
This is a very neat model and brings back a lot of memories. The first cars I ever saw racing were classed as jalopies. I liked them so much I built a model as a kid I think based on the 41 Plymouth kit. There is a very active group of old time circle track racers locally who compete regularly at Western Speedway in cars that look a lot like your model although I think most are powered by inline sixes. -
Maroon looks so good on these woodies. This is one of the nicest stock versions I have seen. Very nice.

Happy New Year Bernard. It is good see all your varied and interestingly creative 2016 builds in one place. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with in 2017.

Congratulations on another gorgeous Ford.

Phildaupho replied to RancheroSteve's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Happy New Year Steve and everyone else on MCM Forum. You have made a great start on the Comet using a brilliant solution. -
You guys beat to the post in regards to the Replica & Miniatures and the Accurate Miniature Halibrands but here are a couple more which may be related and of course Halibrand slot wheels can be found in various Revell hot rod kits. AMT Parts Pak Mini Exotic white metal Replicas & Miniatures mounted

Moebius '65 Mercury Comet Cyclone news
Phildaupho replied to Dave Metzner's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Thanks Steve for all the great photos you posted on fotki. It really looks like a great kit but I look forward to the discussions of pros and cons as it gets in wider circulation. My LHS does not expects any kits until into the New Year. I always thought I would use this kit to do a full detail '64 Comet but I may have to build both years as this '65 just looks so good. -
Outstanding build. Looking forward to someday building one myself. Gullwing probably on most people's list of top 10 cars of all time.
-
Very well done. I am very attracted to this traditional hot rod look and you have nailed it. Beautiful model.

All the other fantastic 2016 builds posted by other modellers inspired me to look back on my year's production. I surprised myself counting 8 completions especially by the fact that these were all built before the middle of July leading up to Deuce Days in Scale in Victoria BC for which I was the main promoter. Since then I have been working on a single as yet unfinished project which I have not even touched since mid-November. I hope to get back to the bench in January to complete that model and maybe something else before Auto Modelrama in Vancouver BC March 25. Seasons Greetings to car modellers everywhere and I hope 2017 will be a productive year.

Revell '29 Ford Roadster "Long Gone Daddy-O"
Phildaupho replied to Starliner Kustoms's topic in Model Cars
Very attractive 50's hot-rod. The spinner caps certainly contribute to the look. I am sure glad I got a couple of these great kits while they were still available. -
Ditto on great story and very cool model. Thanks for posting this one.
-
Very nice looking models which I think are actually much more attractive than the real cars. Sometimes a reduction in scale enhances.
-
Far out man. I really like the front end design.
-
Agree completely with Ace-Garage Guy. If only what is inside the box resembled the box art. My first recommendation is to sand off the raised panel lines for doors etc and scribe into the body. I never finished my first attempt but have since wanted to try again to build a model of one of the most striking designs of all times. Good luck with your build.

Always one of my favorite cars and recon if I ever build one it will be the AMT in my stash as any other alternative is too expensive. Was disappointed when Revell of D did not materialize. I am sure I will learn a thing or two from your thread.

Moebius '65 Mercury Comet Cyclone news

I have always associated the Ford Oval and scripting with the SOHC 427's but I just learnt through a Google search that the early engines such as those used in 65 AFX Comets would not have had the oval and scripting.
