  1. I my opinion the best way to build an early Mustang Notchback is with the Monogram 1/24 64 Mustang Convertible. With some sanding the up-top can be converted into a very presentable hardtop. With this option you get a superior chassis, interior and correct grill. It does have reverse lights however.
  2. 223 arrived Victoria BC Canada today. Great issue !!
  3. Great news. A lot of people have been waiting for this re-release.
  4. Thanks for posting. A lot of really nice cars.
  5. Great looking Camaro and I really enjoyed the back story.
  6. Fantastic looking Deuce in all respects. Love it.
  7. Great looking historic funny car Jerry.
  8. Looks fantastic. I really like the red stripes on the headlight covers.
  9. Andrew your Cobra Daytona project has been so interesting to follow and it has turned out fantastic. Thanks for starting this endeavor. I really enjoyed being part of it. I hope you plan on starting an Under Glass thread where the cars that did make the grid can be posted.
  10. I really enjoy seeing your Mustangs. Both beautiful models. I remember these cars when they were first shown to the public. I was impressed then and I am still impressed.
  11. Thanks but I was referring to the red plastic of the body. Years ago I tried painting a red plastic body white and it turned out pink !!
  12. Fantastic looking model. Very well built. All in all I think Salvinos JR has done a pretty good job with these kits and they will likely just keep getting better.
  13. Thanks Larry Thanks Atkin - Glad you like it Thanks Helmut - I agree. The Fujimi curbside kits are very good in all the GT40 configurations and would find many new buyers if re-released with full detail. In these days of 3D scanning it seems very conceivable.
  14. Gorgeous 917. Great job with the decals. How did you seal the red from bleeding through the white?
  15. Thanks everyone. I really appreciate your comments. I am very happy with the results as it only took me 25 years to get a GT40 MKI built.
  16. A friend who I consider a racing historian and an autograph hunter gave me this photo of the Comstock GT40 signed by the driver the late Eppie Wietzes and a sticker with his autograph I could put on the model if I so chose. This photo was taken at the no longer there Westwood Circuit near Vancouver BC and it is very likely I was at that race. At this race the car was not using enlarged radiator opening I used on the model. Also notice the B/A logos. I got the stickers used on the model from a model railroad vender many years ago. I also Eppie race in a Team Lotus 49 at the first Canadian GP in 1967 where he qualified 5th but DNF.
  17. Thanks Rex - I agree that a fully detailed MKI would be very well received Thanks Garry. I always find additions satisfying Thanks James Thanks Pierre. Your builds have inspired me to up my game. Thanks Mr.GT40 Thanks Rich - Lately I have been sort of considering the separate components of build as models themselves.
  18. The Comstock Team Ford GT40 MKI P/1037 is a car I saw race many times race in the day and at historic events. The model was built not to represent any specific moment in time, maybe more like how it might look if I owned the actual car. It is based on the Fujimi Spa-Francorchamps p/1017 kit. ALTERATIONS & ADDITIONS Studio 27 photo-etch Vintage Racing Miniatures Decals. I made 94’s from images of numbers on actual car. Historic Racing Miniatures engine, suspension, HRM Weber carbs kit with Rev/Mon heads & valve covers. Velocity stacks from Replicas & Miniatures. Scratch built carb tray. Battery located to engine compartment Modellers windshield wiper Enlarged radiator opening backed by photo-etched grill Adapted Fujimi GT40 MKII photo-etch for rear grill Side mirrors 3D printed by Martin Aveyard Sheet styrene rear spoiler
  19. Two beautiful Cobras and a very important message. Thanks for all three.
  20. Thanks for posting Always enjoy seeing IndyCar builds
  21. Very impressive build of a very interesting and significant car. Just a couple of days ago a friend offered me a J-car kit due to my current interest in the history of Ford GTs
