Beautiful car. Beautiful model. Very well built.

#33 - This is a tribute to one of the most favourite Hi-Boy Roadsters of all time - built and owned by Tom McMullen the publisher of Street Rodder magazine. I was able to duplicate most the features of this hot rod except for the flames.
-
#32 - Built in the 1960’s Show & Go style with suspension is from the AMT Ala Kart. It has a 409 engine. The interior is tuck and roll from Replicas & Miniatures. Those are white wall drag slicks at the rear. The Candy Apple Red is from House of Color.

Thanks everybody for your comments. I am really pleased you like my Deuce 5-W Hi-Boy and thought you might like to see my inspiration. There are some great photos of the Rolling Bones Hot Rod on Bring a Trailer where it sold for a quarter of a million a few years ago.

I I always like seeing a built Avanti and yours is very nice. I saw an Avanti at a car show the year it was released and the Avanti kit was the first used kit I every bought. It is still in my stash with intentions to build someday.

Fabulous looking Deuce. I like everything about it !! -
There were some fantastic automotive models at IPMS Victoria BC Canada April 12/25. For photos of most of the entries go to Automotive Categories and as Tim Boyd always says - use the ROLL function. Trophy winners were Best Automotive - Martin Aveyard for his Scout II Best Pickup - Steve Hayden for his Ploy Boy Tribute Shop Truck Picture This - Gord Enquist for his Bill Board Pickup. Gord also won a trophy for Best Metallic Finish for his Armoured Knight Figure

#31 - This is model of the other car that was on the 2019 Deuce Days poster. I did not have a lot of photos for reference but got it close enough that the owner of the real car wanted to buy the model without hesitation. The most challenging aspect of the build was the windshield which incorporates sections from three different frames. The paint is Colors by Boyd Candy Grape.

#30 - This is a model of one of the cars that was on the 2019 Deuce Days poster and apparel. It is owned by race car driver Tom Gloy and was built to go and handle like a race car. The body was channelled and the torsion bar suspension was scratch-built. The interior was highly modified to resemble that in the actual car. Under the hood is a stack injected small block Ford. I managed to find a Humbrol blue the came close to matching the colour of the real car. Tom Gloy liked the model so much he made me an offer I could not refuse. I was sad to see it go but it went to a worthy home.

I did not use the snap interior but in my opinion combining the body parts turned out well.

Excellent project that has turned out exceptionally well. I hope you will be entering it in this weekends model show.

Great looking Deuce Coupe from a kit many overlook that you really enhanced using a very well coordinated selection of parts

#29 - This roadster uses the cut down body and shortened fenders from an AMT ’34 Ford Cab Pickup mated to the cowl of a Revell ’32 Ford Roadster. The grill shell was modified to look more like the commercial version. Under the hood is rodded flathead. By coincidence this model looked so much like the car a hot rodder was building that he asked me to sell it to him which I did hoping to get a ride in the real car which so far has not happened.

#28 - This model is based on the AMT ’34 Ford Pickup with the wheelbase reduced to ’32 Ford specifications. The wheels are artillery style from the Revell ’37 Ford Pickup. The upper trim molding on the back of the cab was removed to reflect the ’32 design. The upright grill shell and hood are Deuce items. It has a souped-up flathead V-8. The Maroon is Tamiya.

#27 - At Deuce Days in Scale 2019 local modellers put together a display of the fifteen varieties of body styles available of 1932 Fords. My job was to build three of the more utilitarian Deuces. This model combines body parts from the 1/24 Monogram Deuce and the 1931 Woody. The panels within the Woody framework are real birch veneer just like the real Woodies. The side curtains were made from surgical tape and clear plastic. Under the hood is a late fifties fuel injected Corvette V-8.

1932 Ford Street Rod - Monogram 1/24 scale

Good looking Deuce. You did a great job updating the interior. I have always liked this kit using it for four builds -
#26 - The initial build of this chopped 5-W Coupe was part of a Rod & Custom duo with a chopped ’49 Ford both with HEMI engines. After building the Silver Sapphire I decided to convert my HEMI 5-W into a Little Deuce Coupe that more closely reflected the words in the Beach Boys song with a flathead mill, a four speed and lakes pipes. The model does have a full hood to hide the powerful engine. Such a hot rod could certainly do 140 at the dry lakes and lay rubber in all four gears !!
-
#25 - To many this is the Beach Boys Little Deuce Coupe but it just happened to be the most famous Deuce at the time a photo was needed for the cover of the record album. It is actually much different than the car described by the words in the song. This model was built from a Jimmy Flintstone body, grill shell and some interior parts. Everything else was sourced from elsewhere or scratch-built including the side strakes and headers.

Very well designed and built. I like it a lot.
