Deuce Days in Victoria BC Canada is happening with a huge convoy of hot rods from the USA arriving by ferry yesterday. On Sunday is the huge outdoor car show and indoor model car show. I saw two Deuces arrive that I have built models of. I have never seen the Goodguys Tudor before.

Thanks guys. I am off to a couple of car shows today and the car that inspired this model might be at one of them but certainly next weekend at Deuce Days

1926 RANCHERO: What if Henry greenlighted the Ranchero in 1926?
Phildaupho replied to Claude Thibodeau's topic in Model Cars
Great looking T. Another quality build by Claude. Reminds me of something Boyd might have done. -
Built from the venerable Revell/Monogram 1/24 kit. Engine and suspension from Revell 1/24 '37 Ford Coupe, wheels and tires from Rvvell'36 Ford Coupe, Fred Cady gauges, mild chop to the windshield. It is hard to tell but the paint is many coats of clear red over black. A locally built Deuce was the inspiration.

Very cool to see the renderings. Over the weekend I actually saw 5 '64 Comets with 4 of them at one show. Here is one of them. -
I saw Jerry's dragsters back in the 1990's and the level of detail blew me away

'32 Ford Roadster.......there can never be too many, right?

You built a great looking Wagon Rod and thank you for your comments about my '48. The Wagon Rod is really a neat kit from an era when AMT was producing well engineered unique kits that were not only very nice in their own right but contained super parts that could be used in other projects like the chassis in the Wagon Rod and Phantom Vickie. I did build my own version of the Wagon Rod 20 years ago and sent you a photo in a PM.

'32 Ford 3-Window - tribute to the Bergman-Gammell-Meyer Deuce Coupe
Phildaupho replied to Phildaupho's topic in Model Cars
I took this photo with my old iPhone 8 in the bright sunshine so you can see that my Bergman-Gammell-Meyer Coupe is not black like the Coupe behind it but is actually a very dark brown -

Moebius 1964 Mercury Comet Pro Touring
Phildaupho replied to Justin Porter's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I can hardly wait for this one. I have a 65 Comet in my stash that I was going to convert to a 64 with the AMT body. This will be better. -
#42 - This model completes the circle started with the first Hi-Boy Roadster in this retrospective in that it represents the sort of full-scale roadster I might build if I had the inclination and finances to do so. I was inspired by the great box art on the most recent release of the Revell ’29 Ford Roaster showing a young guy very happily driving his no-frills hot rod. The only thing I would change is to make it a Deuce. The Revell Model A kits have such a great combination of parts including a Deuce frame that I really did not have to do a lot to incorporate a Deuce Body. I did make the trunk lid operational with the louver lid from the 5W kit to show off the included components inside. The paint is Tamiya Blue Pearl.

#41 - I have become very attracted to the hot rods coming out of the Rolling Bones Shop. They are tough looking honest hot rods. I started this build just planning to use a stock height 5-W with the flathead and wire wheels from the Todor kit until I saw a photo of Rolling Bones chopped 5-W Hi-Boy. The roof immediately got chopped and the frame horns were removed front and rear. In addition to the louvered hood and trunk the roof panel has Archer louver decals. I found a set of tall off-road tires for the rear and small tires for the front. The paint is Tamiya Dark Blue.
