  1. The store closest to me in Wisconsin has a very small kit section that was recently reduced further. Think the only AMT kit my store has is the 67 Shelby. Overall size of the section very similar to that first picture, so it’s not just in Canada.
  2. Haven’t looked at one of these kits in a LONG time, but pretty sure the stock car used a newly tooled tire that might have only been used in this kit.
  3. Thanks. I’ll have to pick up a roll. Thinking about it, my dad was a painter and used something similar to mask off things like baseboards. But I think it had an adhesive on one edge similar to a post it note. Never crossed my mind to use something like this on a model!
  4. Where in Menard’s do you find it?
  5. Think he’s right, AMT ‘65 Corvair.
  6. Around 1976/1977 there was a Christmastime liquidator-type place set up in the old WT Grant store near where I grew up. It was called something like "The Ugly Toy Store" and they had all their product displayed in cut-open cases in piles. They had TONS of the Aurora Racing Scenes stuff, and my mom bought me the Speed Shop and a few other packs like the drivers and the mechanic. I remember they had the car stuff like the bodies and engines too, but I didn't get any of those. It was the only store I ever saw any of those kits in. My sister got Barbie and Ken stuff from the 1976 Olympics, so those should fit that '76-'77 timeline too.
  7. All Monza 2+2 promos are from MPC.
  8. Haven't seen what he's describing, but do think a month or so ago there was some kind of adware on this site (no proof it was here, but would only have issues after looking at the forum) that would redirect to a scam page. This was happening in Safari on an up-to-date Mac. Only look at the forum in Chrome now with cookies blocked, and haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary lately.
  9. No, that sheet is for the '67 Falcon annual. Same basic kit, but there are part and detail differences.
  10. This one is started, and it's possible it remains the only Falcon funny car kit I've seen in person. Finally got a '69 annual a couple weeks ago...it's lightly started, but I have been looking for a reasonably priced one for years. Now need to make time to compare the annual to this funny car....
  11. Quick pic of the Falcon Funny Car box.
  12. OK, thanks. Will watch for it here in Wisconsin.
  13. Saw the AMT Pepper Shaker '57 Chevy today too. Has anyone spotted the AMT '69 Oldsmobile 442?
  14. The later (starting in 1964 or so) Jo-Han steelies are fantastic! There are regular depth and deep ones (in Petty '64 Plymouth and others) and they look like real ones shrunk down to 1/25 scale.
  15. Agree. Think these wheels look great on old AMT wire-axle hot rods!
  16. Think the chrome wires are from the original-issue AMT Deuce roadster. The one from 1959 in the yellow box. That's probably where the Moon discs are from too. Tires in your pics are from something else...
  17. Yes, they probably just cut the steel deeper to remove the stock grille bars and create that flat area.
  18. Pretty sure this kit uses the same tires as the 1980s-revision Monogram '36 Ford coupe. Fronts are Monogram Michelin TRX and rears are the standard-size Monogram Goodyear GT Radial. Wheels in the Touring have separate knockoffs too.
  19. Not 100% sure, but I think Round 2 included these slicks without tampo detailing in the "regular" box reissue of the Double Dragster. The one in the old-school cardboard box, not the version packed in the tin.
  20. Think these are the wheels from the 1980s-era revision of the Monogram '39 Chevy coupe. Most of them were black with flames on the box, but there was a 1990s "Deluxe Kit" issue with paint and glue that was molded in yellow.
  21. Don't have a kit to check, but think this is a rear wheel from the Revell 1968 Firebird.
