  1. Here is the link to your oldest builds. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=64577&hl=+oldest%20+models
  2. Thank you, Thomas. It was a quick fun project.
  3. Here are two old photos I have, one from 1966 & ?. I still have several old models from the late 60's but no old photos of them. There is another thread for those.
  4. Ok, I'll rephrase it. The steel 49 Dodge and Plymouth had the lights out on the body. My point is, if it were a regulation that the light had to extend out with the tail gate, then all wagons would have been that way, including pickups.
  5. I have used automotive paint but not the Vallejo. I was looking into it for detailing paints. I have not had any issues with the Model Masters before ... well other than it seeping out of the cans, lol Anyway, I did get it finished up, ready for the construction site. The blue is lighter than the original but it's what I had. I did not spray clear coat on this one as that would have made it too shinny for a 1930's toy.
  6. Well, I'm calling this one done. It's resting place for now. Thanks for following along.
  7. I would guess it was just a carry over from the 46-48 models. If it were do to regulations wouldn't all of the vehicles of had to comply? The 49 Mopars had taillights out on the body, and what about pickups?
  8. I have a Shelby kit that came with a record of racing at Riverside, if I remember correctly.
  9. That is a great looking car.
  10. Nice build. I had a few real 292's .. great engines.
  11. Thanks, This is the large scale like the old Tonka trucks. The Body is about 8 inches long. I had some issues again with the Testors Model Master spray cans, this time the yellow. It seams the paint puddles up around the nozzle then splats it onto the surface. I tried wiping the nozzle every few seconds but that didn't help. I swapped the nozzle with one from a cheap 99 cent spay can and it sprayed perfect. In fact a very fine mist. The blue sprayed just fine. I'm wondering if Testors changed nozzles along the way or I just got few bad ones??? Here is the cab in yellow, with a few paint splatters.
  12. I'm betting it turned out about the way the owner wanted it ... that good with me. The stance and whitewall slicks on mags were common on a few of those early Gassers. The hood, although nothing I would do, is clever.
  13. I bought this thing in pieces about twenty five years ago. They had it in grey primer but the metal was pitted some so I layered a heavy coat of primer filler on it. Now lots of sanding.
  14. Very nice. Do you have carbs coming or still looking?

    1969 dart

Looking nice. I think HW61 did that color combo on 68 Dart.
  16. Harry, I do remember it and often wondered if you were going to build it. I can't take credit for the wheels, they were done when I got it. After watching you in action on the 1/16 model, I have no doubt that you can do it. I will be your biggest fan.
  17. Very Nice! Great wheels
  18. It's getting closer.
  19. Ertl made an articulated dump in 1/64 and some of the first Norscott Cats made were on the old Ertl tooling. The old Cat uses the bright yellow not the current mud yellow. Not sure about the D11T ... Ertl made a D10 in the 80'd? I have all the 1/24 Ertl and Ruhl from days gone by and all the Ertl 1/64, 1/50 and 1/16. I only have the first few years of Norscott. Oh and I have some old Revell plastic pcs .. four I think.

  23. You should not have any trouble using Fotki or Photobucket.
