  1. That's pretty cool.
  2. Thanks Lance and Harry.
  3. It is not called Castrol Super Clean any longer, it has been "Super Clean" for about 10 years now. As martinfan5 stated it works WAY better then any of the other purple cleaners. I'm amazed that this thread is 15 pages long to cover the few methods needed.
  4. Looking great. If it's possible or even almost possible, You are the man for the job!
  5. That is a beautiful build. Looking forward to the next one. It would be nice to replace at least one of the photo links in the opening post so this thread doesn't look dead.
  6. Well, I think I am done with this one. I had robbed the carburetor from this kit to put dual carbs on my Chevy roadster. After some serious digging I found my Hubley parts boxes. I also added some strap-on mirrors from the Pakard kit. I cut windows from .015 sheet stock. Thanks for following along,
  7. Nice. I hope you post the progress.
  8. WOW! This is really taking shape. Looks great.
  9. I do not, unless it's old and has thickened up some. If it's been sitting for a long time I would take the cap off and stir it with a small screw driver or similar device. I do thin it to air brush.
  10. That may be the stuff I tried with the same results. Upon further research I was told that when mixed it generates heat to make it cure and my part was too small. I tried adding my own heat but still did not cure. I'm going to try "Polyurethane resin can be had in "water clear" form," that Art suggested.
  11. I'll tell you why I like this place. I have over 10,000 farm toys and never knew this existed. This has to be a huge tractor, I'm guessing about 16 inches long? I'm on the hunt.
  12. I use that craft paint, including the Wallmart stuff. I have not had issues with it covering but I would have used a light gray or white primer if painting a color that light. In fact I just painted a tractor axle grey tonight with that paint then clear coated it. I use a good camel hair brush.
  13. Looking great. I want to to one of these, just need to go for it I guess.
  14. Thanks Lance. I will track that down, never have too many options. I use a similar acrylic marker on regular tires but these are really a soft flexible rubber. They looked great until I installed them
  15. Those are great looking models. Like Lance, I have not ventured into the sealed resin models but I do like the detail they do on them. I would buy one if they do a model of a car I have to have. I did see a few 1/43 resin models on the site you posted that are on sale. That is going to cost me a few bucks.
  16. Very Nice.
  17. Thanks for those tips Craig. I'll have to look into that "flexing agent". I do have all the kits as well, including the 32 and indy car. The stick-on whitewalls don't stick very well and they dry out quickly. I have been looking into circle cutters. I have paint several whitewalls on vinyl and hard rubber tires with no problems. These tires are super soft and flexible and need to expand to get them on the rim. I'm going to try lining the rim with paper and paint the tire while mounted. Anyway, I came up with some tires from a 36 Ford panel that have whitewall inserts and fit perfect.
  18. I recently found this paint at Target for $1.99. It airbrushes to a beautiful finish.
  19. For me it would depend on the price. I would at least be interested in the non chopped body. The chopped top is the only reason I never bought the Revell kit.
  20. Well, I got some interior door panels made and painted. Still having issues painting the whitewalls. I'm now looking at other options. Comments welcome, Thanks for looking
  21. You would have to have them made. I have tried the Ertl, Pioneer and few others and none are the correct size. It would have been nice if Ertl had made theirs case that size but than they would not stack like the cases do. Price wise you can buy the wall cases for about the same price and much nicer.
  22. Wow, I missed this one. Just ordered one Now I need this one.
  23. Great Photos and coverage Tim, Thanks for sharing. I do miss that show and seeing you guys. In the background of photo 47 is a shot of "Larry Read's Wartime Dodge". Is this a kit on Moebius' future list?
