  1. Very Nice! You make that look easy
  2. Nice! I love the trim rings. Are the wheels copies of the GMP trans-am wheels? I see those sets are bringing big bucks now.
  3. That is a great looking model.
  4. They have been called Plain Wrappers for as long as I can remember. Here in Buckeye they have an all black Mustang with dark windows, no markings or lights visible. I see DPS on I-10 in plain wrappers With someone pulled over almost every time I go to town. Most common is a maroon SUV and a blue one.
  5. Very nice Lance. I love the idea and the great execution you did on this one. Thank for sharing it
  6. Love it, I have six coming. I had talked with Acme about the headlight rings and they originally didn't think they could get them made, looks like it worked out.
  7. I'm going dark blue with black fenders. I'm still undecided on the wire wheels but leaning toward red. This looks lighter than under normal light due to being under a 250W heat lamp.
  8. Welcome Steve. It depends on what scale you are collecting. Do you want pre-painted or do you want to paint them. There is a lot of choices out there.
  9. Oh boy, The pressure is on now Lance, you are correct. Got a little done.
  10. Voting for kits? That is how Ertl AMT did the Buyer's Choice program. They sent out a list of kits to all the direct dealers to choose from.
  11. I hate when that happens I can't remember when I had to strip one I painted, not saying they are all perfect, lol
  12. Art, What had you used in the past? I have not tried Purple Power for several years but at the time I thought Super Clean worked better and stuck with it.
  13. I worked on this one about 15 years ago filing and sanding the flash off. Not sure why it got put aside but along with this one i have few more of the Hubley kits prepped and about ready to paint. Anyway i decided it was time to finish this one. It is actually a reissue of the old Hubley kit. I found this paint at Target in the craft section for $1.99. It brushes on ok but really flows on smooth and covers well with the airbrush. I'm going to pick up some more of this paint.
  14. On these they may not be exact but close. Harry, Good questions. Not necessarily to restore to "as new" but to make them look good on the shelf. Unlike 100-200 year old furniture, most toys from the 50's need to be in pretty good condition to have any value. There are exception but most diecast vehicles that have less than 50% of the paint on them would be worth more if they were repainted. Most people want one to look good on the shelf. There are purist type collectors out there, I'm one of those most of the time, but they want near perfect originals. Antique Cast iron toys, no matter how bad the paint is, you do NOT repaint them.
  15. Sad news. http://www.thedailycitizen.com/sports/local_sports/article_bf372fe0-5bf7-11e5-aa26-c365d1281c42.html
  16. I thought of you when I dug this one out. I need to find another one also. I want to cut out the fender skirts and put some nice Ertl 1/64 truck wheels on it.
  17. Whoa! Very nice. How did I miss this one? That is awesome build. So, the body is also a GMP, just from a scrapped car? I sure wish they would do the non chopped top 5 window coupe.
  18. This reminds me of something i saw on TV and forgot to research, now I can't remember the commercial. I think it was an investment company and they were printing on a yellow wall with a chrome marker. The chrome was so shinny you could see their reflection in it. Anyone remember the commercial and know what they were using?
  19. Those transparent red toothbrushes are hard to find these days. I'm always on the look out for red and amber plastic. I did get some from a broken taillight on my cargo trailer. For these Caramo lights I would say flat sheet would be the easiest. Cut a thin cardboard templet out and trace it on the red plastic. Heat under hot water to get the curve you need. You can buy red sheet plastic from Evergreen.
  20. Oh ya! That engine and chassis would look nice painted black chrome, like transparent black
