  1. Tough call, but I went with real.
  2. My second finished build for the year. It's nice to be wrapping up some of these projects I've had going for a while. I smoothed out the body, removing the side trim and quarter panel trim and door handle holes and locks for a mild custom look. I lowered the suspension as low as I could get it with the Pegasus wheels and tires I chose and I air bagged the rear end. Interior is stock with a different steering wheel and a shifter made from a straight pin. Paint is Rustoleum Satin Claret Wine, polished out to have some shine. BMF used for all the trim, but it fought me and isn't perfect. It seems that the brilliant chrome is thicker than the regular chrome foil. Thanks for taking a look, questions and comments of course are always welcome. Finally had some time and some sun this AM and took some new shots that show it off a little better. These are the new sunshine pictures.
  3. Looks great so far, I look forward to seeing it wrapped up. Nice job on the chop!
  4. Very cool. That engine bay is fantastic. Great detailing.
  5. I'm pretty proud of my student with this build! This took a lot of work but it looks great sitting with the other muscle cars on our shelf! Good job baby.
  6. This would be beautiful if you has started with a fresh kit, but seeing what it started out as makes this simply outstanding. Such great work.
  7. Welcome to the forum, nice builds you've got so far!
  8. Welcome aboard!
  9. Nice job. Interesting color choice but goes real well with the gold motor and the sleeper feel.
  10. Thanks for that. I see what you did in the example. Makes a lot of sense. I'll probably do something similar with mine to get it lower. The painted side trim will look better with the brushed metal bumpers, so good call going that route. Nice job with the exhaust too. Cool idea.
  11. Great buzz saw! How did you do the teeth? Looks like it was time consuming, but worth it!
  12. Holy cow that's sweet! What color/ source is the paint?
  13. Hi Jason, it's looking good so far. I like the color combo you picked. If I could make a suggestions, I think some foil along the side trim would go a long way to make this build even better, but you did do a pretty good job painting it. What did you do to get the front so low? I know there's a lowered front end option- I've got the same kit and have played around with it a little, but it didn't seem to get it as low as yours is. I'd like to get mine down close to that low as well. Keep up the good work!
  14. This is going to be a monster! I'm really looking forward to watching this one come together. I guess the great thing is that you no doubt have plenty of reference material. Are you going to put some bike on the dyno's too?
  15. I'm not usually the spelling police either but its "voila", a viola is a bowed string instrument a little bigger than a violin.

Wow, what a great, classic lowrider. Super clean build. Your BMF work is impeccable too!
  17. Name is mine. In grade school there were two Ryan's and 2 Bryan's in my class and we always used our last initial to tell us apart as they were all different. When I signed up here my full name was already taken by the gentleman who does resin casting so I kept it simple and old-school (for me). I found the avatar online somewhere and always liked it as I'm into alien stuff, though strangely not models...yet. It's a spin on the x-files. The picture behind the alien at the desk is a space shuttle and it says "I want to believe". I like to think aliens on other planets feel the same way we do about the possibility of life elsewhere.
  18. You're off to a great start. I really like where this is headed. Nice job on the chop.
  19. Hey Rom, there's a thread already running that started a while back. Maybe you could merge the 2 or pin the other one to the top as well: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=41961&st=0

Very cool. I didn't expect to see the go-kart on the inside. That would be a blast to drive!
  21. Are you building a boat, or a UFO/ Flying car? Regardless, you're off to a good start!
  22. I'm going with what some others have said about putting in window AND anything having to do with gluing something to the window (like rear view mirror) never fails that I get glue everywhere other than where it's intended. That and cleanup. I HATE cleaning up my work area, despite how nice it is when it's clean. I'll let the mess creep in until I'm left with only a 2in x 2 in space to work in and even then I'll do my best to work in that space!
