  1. Agreed. I really hope this makes it to kit form.
  2. I got mine earlier in the week too. A lot of great eye candy and ideas in there. One question though, in Gregg's letter he mentions "bar codes" and web links to complete photo albums for the shows to see all the pictures. I'm pretty sure he's referring to a QR code that you can take a picture of with a smart phone, but I didn't see any actually printed in the Mag. Is there something I'm missing or was this something that never played out 100% before printing? Will we see it in future issues? Could be a cool addition. I also agree that it would be nice to see some different views, but get that it's a layout decision.
  3. I just saw this as well and I love it!
  4. Very cool! Where'd you get the body from, or did you make it? Also, clear wheels? What was the source for those, they're kind of cool!
  5. Thanks for the comments all. I'm pretty sure that this one is not going to get casted. With all the mods I've had to make, and will continue to make, I'm not sure I want to risk any damage. I'd just like to get it finished! Although, based on the tremendous response thus far, I might try and do a second one with the intention of finding someone to cast it, but that would be way out in the future. Hey Stewart, the wheels are Aoshima Gram Lights R57GT that I was very lucky to get from a member here as they are out of production now and very, very tough to find on-line. I agree, they are perfect for this build!
  6. Looking really good so far! One of my favorite cars.
  7. Here's a few more. I'm hoping that with some Bondo work, I can get it to a point that I'm happy with it and I can move on to paint and putting together the rest of it. We'll see. I'll be putting some more work into it over the next few days. Thanks for looking!
  8. Finally got some more time to put back into this project. Been working up the new front wheel wells/flares today. I trimmed the flares back so that they match up with the wheel wells, then covered the opening with some thin sheet plastic (for-sale sign) and carefully cut and carved them to match up the curve. After that, I gave it some rough sanding to get the basic shape and fit. After that, I hit it with some high-build primer to get it ready for another round with Bondo. Here's the pix before I got the Bondo on it, and some mock-ups after the break.
  9. Holy man, what a scary story. Very glad to hear everyone is okay. These things seem to usually end up much, much worse!
  10. Great video and some good tips! I've got to keep my eye out for some mirrors.
  11. I think you've done some pretty nice work so far and I like where you are going with this. The first picture above is sweet and great inspiration. That being said, I don't love the wheels you've shown. They just look too big and would really prevent you from doing any lowering, if you were to go that way. The nice thing about the Challenger and the Magnums is that they can handle big wheels, but the one's you've shown look like they would scale out to maybe 24"-26" and give it too much of a "donk" appearance. Now, if you like them, go for it! It's your model first and foremost. This is just my $0.02. Keep up the good work.
  12. This one is definitely real.
  13. I just love this one! Those wheels look great painted aluminum too, that was a good move.
  14. Sweet truck. Great attention to detail.
  15. Looks nice. These '48's are growing on me more and more. There's something about the first picture that make the car look almost European, or it reminds me of something British almost.
  16. Thanks again for the comments, all. I ended up using a little of the regular bmf to finish up with and there's definitely a difference in how the two cut. The bright cuts like it's thicker and eats up blades real quick. I just wish I didn't have 3/4 of a sheet left...oh well.
  17. I don't love those wheels on this one, but the paint and choice of color looks great!
  18. Nice job making it look like a work in progress. I'm sure it will look great behind the truck.
  19. Nice job, cool paint scheme with the graphics.
  20. That's a beauty of a bee!
  21. Very nice. Excellent choice going with the nail head.
  22. Thanks for all the comments guys. Sorry the pix are so dark. We've had cloudy weather here lately and the lighting wasn't the best, even with the flash on the camera. When we get some sunshine I'll take a few new ones to show it off a little better. Re. the paint; I really loved this color when I saw it and originally thought about doing it in satin. I tested it on a spoon and with clear coat and I liked the way it looked shiney. I had to paint and strip this one 3 times as I had a bad reaction with clear the first time, a reaction with the primer the second time, and then a primer on primer issue the third time, so I was happy to have a decent paint job the 4th time around. The problem was some goobers in the paint and sanding the satin finish takes away the satin, so I test polished the hood first and liked the results of the polished paint with out any clear so it was a go from there. I didn't do any wet sanding surprisingly (only on the primer coats). My polishing process was 2 passes with Novus #2, 2 passes with Meguires cleaning wax, a pass with Novus #1 and then after all was buttoned up I polished once more with Pledge cleaning/dusting spray which put a nice sheen on it. A lot of work, yet, but worth it. As far as the Painters Touch paint went, this dried really quickly, I let it sit for about 5 days before polish and BMF. The down side is that despite trying to do light coats, it built up pretty heavy by the end and I lost some detail on the B pillar details as well as the fender name badging. I was able to dry brush the script on the passenger side, but not the driver side. I'd love a set of photo etch scripts, but the whole PE set is too much. Thanks again for looking and commenting! Cheers!
  23. Nice! The red pinstripe on the side was a good call, it really sets off the 2 paint colors.
