This is awesome Mark. My first car was a Kammback too. My dad bought in when I was in the seventh grade and customized into a mini El Camino. I made a model of my car too. Of course your build is much much better than mine. I used a resin cast body and modified it. Can't wait for more updates.

It's actually a Ferrari 250 GTO painted with the Penske livery. It's been a stalled WIP for a while but I am working on it here and there.

Great work on the flares. Makes it looked channeled and low.

I've never seen the movie or the car but this a great project and you are doing a super job.

I didn't like the first paint job so I stripped the body and ordered another set of decals. Then I made an air filter from a spray nozzle. I made a push off switch knob from a sanded down shifter handle.

I wish there as just a kit available to build this car but there isn't. Fortunately there are plenty of aftermarket parts to buy in order to build one. I have a 2008 GT500 in my stash and while the front end is wrong for a 2008 Cobra Jet, it's the kit I have and I am going to use it. First thing is to change up the front to look less like a GT500 and more like the 2010 Cobra Jet front. I bought a resin hood from eBay I got the new decals from Slixx I have home casted some resin Weld Star wheels I am going to use the quarter window louvers from a 65 fast back kit I am going to use some headers from the part box I am using parts box tires and tachometer I will scratch build the roll bar and seat belts I will need to redo the air intake and scratch a open air filter I will need to leave out the back seat and take the radio out of the dash The rest will pretty much be out of the box

This is a car I wish I had in real life. A 65 Mustang fastback with the underpinnings of a 99 Mustang Cobra. IRS, Modular V8, 4 wheel discs with ABS, A/C and great sound system. I used a Monogram/Revell 65 Mustang kit and raised the wheel arches about an 1/8 of an inch to give it a channeled look. I used the front of the Revell 99 Mustang Cobra chassis to get the newer suspension and grafted the Cobra IRS to the 65 rear portion of the chassis. The interior is the 65 tub with the 99 door panels, dash and seats. The hood has the scoop from the AMT 427 66 Fairlane only turned around like a cowl scoop. The grill is PE. The wheels and tires are from the Revell Cobra Series II (the OldsmoCobra) kit. The engine and transmission are from the 99 Mustang kit. The color is Model Masters Hemi Orange with Wet Look Clear. I started this project in 09 and just now got it finished tonight.

You could print that pattern on Testers decal paper and it would be much easier to apply.

Just terrific. My favorite Corvette only better.

The whole build is awesome but I love the folded down top.
