  1. It'll turn up after you get the replacement. I've been thinking about the changes in rear fenders on the real car and I think it may have been due to wider slicks coming along as tire technology progressed. This caused the quarters to have more of a bulge. oldscool
  2. Just got this from Hobbylinc. oldscool
  3. I know it's kind of belated but I want to thank you for sharing this link. I read every page and enjoyed every bit of it. oldscool
  4. It's been moved to the new community builds section further down the page. oldscool
  5. You're right about the bodies varying from race to race, it's just that I prefer the look of the squared fender openings over the round ones. After seeing that pic, I am beginning to lighten up on the kit a little. I love all the info that is available from this group of modelers. Keep it coming. oldscool
  6. I like it! Looks just like the ones that were running the streets back in the 70s. oldscool
  7. That is one fine looking 33! Don't worry about the paint as it looks great. The real cars often don't have perfect paint anyway. Magazine pics are often heavily airbrushed to cover the flaws on the real things. oldscool
  8. Thank you Harry P. My sentiments exactly. I don't WANT to build a model of the restored car and I won't pay for a resin body on top of buying the kit. oldscool
  9. Yep, that's my biggest fear. If so I won't be buying a single one. This is the second let down in a row for me from Revell after the Hemi dart. oldscool
  10. If we are lucky, Revell will do a vintage body for the Hawaiian and we can just use that body combined with the CTH hood, tin and windshield to build the original CTH. So if you wanted to build a Hawaiian and an original CTH you would end up buying 3 kits. I'm thinking this is exactly what Revell is banking on. oldscool
  11. Very nice paint! oldscool
  12. I can remember my third model also. It was the AMT 53 Ford pickup. And I built that K&K Daytona unpainted just like you did. Thought it was a pretty good kit at the time. oldscool
  13. Why thank you for the compliment:P oldscool
  14. Why at the 1/25 scale animal shelter of course:lol:. oldscool
  15. Got these from the local Magic Mart. The ONLY place within 100 miles that still sells models. The F-250 is nicer than I expected as I have never seen the contents of this kit before. It will make a great race car tow truck. I got the Charger to add to my Mopar collection as it and the 67 Coronet R/T are the only Revell Mopars that I don't have. oldscool
  16. Man, that is going to look good! B)One of the most beautiful car designs ever. Right up there with the GT-40. oldscool
  17. The first kit I ever built was an AMT 1/32 scale 63 split window Vette that I got for my fifth birthday. This would have been in 63 and I wonder what happened to their 1/32 scale kits? The first 1/25 kit I ever built was the AMT 57 Ford a couple of years later. remember it being in the first issue box with the different custom versions on it. oldscool
  18. Thanks for the history lesson Art. Good reading. oldscool
  19. Sad news indeed. He is one of the icons of stock bodied drag racing. oldscool
  20. Yeah, I know the Pintos weren't very commonplace but they were just the doggone wildest looking things. oldscool
  21. Nice job and great color choice. oldscool
  22. Kits can be re-shrink wrapped by unscrupulous sellers. Not saying that is the case with your kit just that it is something to be aware of. oldscool
  23. That's funny:lol: never saw that before. oldscool
  24. OMG! A Pinto body had not occurred to me until you mentioned it. That would be great! Can you say Keeling and Clayton? oldscool
