  1. PE is great, but I can't afford to buy PE sets anymore and US kit manufactures aren't going to include it when printing emblems on the decal sheet works for most builders. I guess they could include them on the chrome tree like the Revell 69 Z/28 emblems. Those looked good.
  2. That's why I don't expect Moebius to do an AWB kit. But these cars were factory efforts and used more stock parts than you would think. I built a resin 65 Dodge AWB, and the rest came from one Lindberg 64 Dodge kit. Although the chassis gets sliced and diced it is pure 65 Mopar.
  3. So, who's going to be the first caster with a resin AWB racer?
  4. Having several hundred unbuilt kits in my stash, if the entire model industry goes out of business tonight I'll never live long enough to build what I already have on hand. If a model company wants my ever harder to earn money the new kit better be a subject I'm interested in, and it better look like that subject. And it better have the scripts and emblems molded on it. Moebius is doing that, others aren't.
  5. Nice! I'd like to build the same car,
  6. Somebody made a 1/24 MGA, I've seen built ups (and passed on them at a swap meet), but I don't know what model company. I'd love to have one.
  7. Nothing happened that I wanted to post in the "what irked you today" thread.
  8. A super stock racer will be easy then, decals are allready out there.
  9. I'm sure that a drag version will soon follow, that's the one I'm waiting for. I hope it represents an actual car raced in 65.
  10. My take on it. First the new kit must be a subject that interests me, or I won't buy it no matter how "right" it is. Now, if it's a subject that has already been kitted it must be an improvement over the exesting kits in my stash or I have no reason to buy it. And if it a new subject that somewhat interests me, it's got to be right or I'll pass. If it is a subject that interests me a lot and it's not quite right I'll make a decision on how bad it is, and if it can be corrected. If it's way wrong I don't care if I drove one school ang got lucky in it, it's staying on the shelf. Thankfully the Moebius models I have bought have been great, and severial upcomming subjects do interest me quite a bit.
  11. Wait until it pays $15 an hour to flip fries.
  12. The 914 handled great but had no power. The 240Z did lots of things well but nothing great. (yes it was a 1970) The 56 Chevy was the quickest/ fastest of the three, and the most comfortable of the three, otherwise was just transportation. My Alfa Spider was my best import sports car, power, handling, braking and comfort.
  13. Also staggered rear shocks and upgraded interior.
  14. That was the 914's stronghold.
  15. I've owned both, and while the 240Z was much quicker than the 914, second gear wheelstands are quite an exaggeration. My 56 Chevy with a 327 in it would blow my 240Z off the road.
  16. I hate the emblems on the decal sheet! Aftermarket photo etch is the only answer, and I can't afford to build like that anymore. And I agree about the front wheel wells, They are always warped or twisted in the box and I have to cut them loose and glue them into the body as a separate part with no locating points.
  17. I've owned many first gen Camaros, and in my opinion this kit just isn't an improvement over the AMT kit.
  18. Nice!
  19. Not true, the Mustang had a long list of options so it could be equipped to appeal to everybody. Broad appeal is where the sales numbers were.
  20. I like the loaded up RS/SS cars in Daytona Yellow, with black stripes and top. All the bumper guards and such. The base cars look best in Fathom Green with white stripes.
  21. Most of the other cars I've owned including an old 77 Chevy truck would have walked off and left it. Of course they had Chevy 350's in them. It really wasn't much quicker than the 69 VW 1500 I had.
