  1. This is from the Cartoons facebook page. So, Who wants to see CARtoons back on the newstands/bookstores/magazine racks? What would you say if I told you I was contacted by someone representing themselves as the new owner? His plan is to bring the mag back to the stand and have it be better than ever! He also asked if I would like this page to become the Official CARtoons magazine facebook page. Of course I told him I'd be glad to do all I could to help the title come back. Now... I've never been one to ask the followers of this page to "Like" or "Share" anything that I post... However, for the magazine to make it back to the stands... it needs supporters. So, If you think you know a gearhead or a comic fan that would be interested in seeing CARtoons hit print again... Ask them to follow this page and watch for updates!
  2. Several years ago I was at a motorcycle rally in southern Indiana and a couple from West Virgina riding cracked and split the engine cases on the old Harley Panhead chopper they were riding. They used J B Weld and rode the bike home with no problems.
  3. I don't build models of cars that are built today, I build models of the cars of my youth. It's a nostalgia thing, a collection of cars I could never own in 1:1. I don't have to build something that wouldn't beat me to death on the highway because I'm never going to drive it so I can build whats "cool" in my mind. I see this kit as only a starting point for a kitbash and I can no longer afford to buy 3 or 4 kits to build 1 model. Same with resin parts and PE sets, I can no longer afford them. I honestly only buy about 3 or 4 kits a year anymore and a few years back I could buy that many in one trip to the hobby store. I know my preferences aren't the same as others, it would be a shame if we all liked the same stuff.
  4. I'm sure I'll buy one, but if the driveline had been traditional I'd have bought a case.
  5. 1degree F now, wind chill -20 to -25 tonight.
  6. What? no rear buggy spring and quick change? Can the quarters be un-steped?
  7. That explains why I never heard of them.
  8. The box art was accurate, those Zinger parts were in the kits, but you didn't have to use them.
  9. The only Gremlin kit we have isn't much better, some people are building them with 67 Mustang parts.
  10. Much easier than adding them to a replica stock.
  11. I'm another one who will be converting that Ferguson into a ford.
  12. My favorite type of Simon and Garfunkel song, one they didn't sing and play on.
  13. Dang, I worked at an Olds dealer at that time and never heard of them
  14. I hope the emblems will be added after all other tooling is finished, The "current practice" looks cheap and just sux.
  15. Its a Tom Daniels design, it doesn't have to work it just has to look good to 10 year olds.
  16. Whats a FE3-X ?
  17. Just an observation. A few months back I was looking for a Revell 57 Ford kit. I was wanting the stock / drag car version which was a regular release. All I could find was the NASCAR version, and they were everywhere.
  18. Altereds, early funnys, AWB cars, Jr Stockers, early pro stocks, whats not to like?
  19. Do some searching here on this site, stuff like this is all around. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=60617
  20. As for recent plastic kits thats all she wrote. for a 60+ year old tool it builds up fairly nice with some work. Better than it has a right to. Lots of resin choices, easiest to find is the Jimmy Flinstone country sedan wagon.
  21. 60 Chrysler 300F, 74 Dodge Monaco 4 dr sedan "Blues Brothers". 63 Dodge wagon.
