  1. My current is the Impala SS Then a period correct '32 Roadster, then: finishing my '84 Chevrolet Impala police car finishing my resin '56 Olds replicate a TIV. G
  2. I use an EMF field detector, digital recorder, and low lux video cameras to find ghosts. Uh, Oh sorry wrong ghosts. Seriously, Ditto all the above especially the Tenax trick. G
  3. Yes and oh hell yes. When I lived in the midwest with it's high humidity I used a dehumidifier religiously. I once watched paint bead up and bounce off a body due to the humidity. Now I have the exact opposite problem. G
  4. The bench is empty I've been building in the kitchen lately as I needed storage room in the mancave. With the holidays here I've packed up everything for a few weeks. G
  5. Amen to all the above. G
  6. The azz end looks 100% better with the new taillights. Front seems to look sleeker too, I'd like to see it with the hood down. I'm wrapping my brain around the vintage look of the sides, I'll decide soon. It is still not what I think of as a Dodge "Charger". My brother in law brought over his new Challenger today. I like it, alot. So did the Henderson cops......................... G
  7. Concentrate the dirt and dust in tread groves. It will look more like a real car, the dirt wears off the contact surfaces but is retained in the grooves. For whitewalls I like a mix of Tamiya Clear Orange and just a drop of Tamiya Buff. I thin it out like 90% and just fog it on the whitewalls. Gives them a yellowed look. G
  8. Beautiful work. G
  9. Good stuff! I just love N scale trains, and hope to get a layout up and running someday. G
  10. I received copious amounts of overtime for working the holiday! G
  11. Oh yeah, that's what I'm taliking about! G
  12. Nice, real nice! G
  13. Nice job! I have always liked this kit. G
  14. Check these out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Phoenix_dactylifera2.jpg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Phoenix_dactylifera1.jpg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:MultanEvening.jpg
  15. The best way in 1/24th scale woud be wrapping some form of tube with regular masking tape and painting it. Overlap the wrapping to replicate the trunk. A wood dowel comes to mind but might look way to rigid, although the palms around here are very tall and straight. I'd use some heavy foil for the fronds. Cut the basic frond "leaf" shape, then cut the individual "leaves". Remember the fronds are V shaped in cross section and face UP. G
  16. The color is only limited by your imagination. Junkers come in all shapes and sizes. No one can say what's right or what to start with. G
  17. Ok another 55 hour week has gone and I'm back on the bench. Here's the engine as it sits right now. I haven't begun wiring yet. Here's the interior as of today. Lots of work and paint detailing to come so stay tuned. G
  18. Try www.modelroundup.com too G
  19. I use "Tiger Tail" beading wire from Michaels. It's a fine braided wire coated with clear nylon and does a good job of replicating braided fuel lines, cables and such. Same with nylon beading wire, it can be painted to replicate almost anything. Ball headed straight pins for shifters, flat heeaded push pins for rivets and connectors. G
  20. DAYUM Cranky! Those are just too cool. G
  21. Ummmmm, wellll, I like it, a lot.................what does that say about, oh nevermind. G
  22. I am planning on this representing a "factory" build therefore I modified the LS1's valve covers. I made decals that say "Impala SS" and they are drying as we speak. More engine work coming so stay tuned. G
  23. I work Tuesday through Saturday, so now I'm thinking a discretionary sick day coming up? G
  24. The Impala SS will be close, but no promises. There's a DML Panzer I waiting for me to tackle the itty bitty track links, a Modelhaus '84 Impala police car, and a Hendrix resin 56 Olds. Of course the police car has been around unfinished for 4 years now.......... G
