Yes, I believe you are correct! If I recall correctly a lot of those parts were, ahem, interchangeable with the police package parts which were "hard to come by". G
  2. Looking good so far. Any ideas on colors? G
  3. Anybody living even remotely close to Kirkwood should attend. Always a good time with an auditorium full of vendors. Good talent on display also. G
  4. Good build of a fun subject. BTW didn't the show rod at one time appear with a body color "helmet"? G
  5. It is in Las Vegas! G
  6. Tamiya's oldy of a widely used armored car. Painted and marked to represent the 15th Panzer Division in Libya 1941. This was a quickie OOB build except I scratched the Jerry Can racks from soda can aluminum strips. G
  7. I don't think I would have forgotten a build such as that.......... G
  8. Very, very nice. G
  9. To add to Mikes idea, split the wings but join them with two pieces of wire. Measure and shorten the span within the fuselage where it wont show. It'll maybe make the wing root fit better. That way you won't deal with the angle issues that may arise from having two seperate wing halfs. They will be one unit as before, but not. I've never used Microballoons, Mike got more tips? Is that clear? G
  10. I haven't built that in a hundred years! Here's my idea. Since the wing fits the fuselage fairly well on the top side, I'd glue it, then when dry use a bit of Mr Surfacer. I'd smooth it with a Qtip damp with laquer thinner. Then I'd insert strips to fill the gap left underneath, using liquid glue ever so lightly. Then I'd trim and sand as best as I could. Get the best seam topside, and as best as possible underneath. G

Here's one I finished since my last post. It's the Revell 5 window, chopped, channeled, and distressed. G
  12. Oh now that's real nice. G
  13. I am finishing an armored car as we speak. There is an IPMS show 11/6 in Lancaster Ca. that I will be attending. I know, I know, IPMS shows do not like car guys etcetcetc. But what the hey. G

Touche' What ever the real car was, or wasn't, this model looks ok to me. Using a (Pashee?) ahem, airbrush shows a fair bit of confidence. By the way, I drove a 1980 Volare with a 360 under the hood. 4dr PD package POS, bench seat like a piece of plywood. I swear it had steel bars instead of shocks, but that puppy would go like stink in a straight line. Lasted all of 13 months when fleet said Oh H%(( no! and replaced it, with a Fairmont.................... G
  15. It got to a point where the local club in St Louis eagerly anticipated my daughter's builds. Every year at the contest they'd ask her if "what's his name" drove her there. I couldn't have been prouder. Good times G
  16. Well I realized it was a year ago today I first registered on this forum. Despite ups and downs, cat fights, work and life, this is still the best place to post and learn about the hobby. I'm sticking around on this one for a while so get used to it! G
  17. I'm glad I can inspire someone! When you start, I have references and can provide tips and assistance. G
  18. Ah the memories. Looks good. You did a great job with a kit that's a real B to build. G
  19. I'd say that it was a really cool build, but I'm told I'm having way too much fun on this topic. So model on Felix! G
  20. I will occasionally go sailing with the Captain, however more often than not that pesky Jack Daniels fella sneaks into my Coke. G
  21. Now there's something you don't see every day............. Cool G
  22. Nice, real nice! I always wanted the real one, figured I'd get into a lot of trouble though...... G
  23. I like it, shows a fair bit of imagination. Nick ya get better and better with every build. Now, with that said, concentrate on slowing down. I look and see a build that was rushed a bit so the markings could be applied. Right? Patience grasshopper, patience. Develop the skill set and continue to improve. G
