  1. Lasci la pistola, Porti le canoli. G
  2. Michaels sells it labled as Valspar "Sandable Primer". I do not think it's anything but T235 that has been relabled. G
  3. I will be more than happy to provide Kleenex, provided I am continued to be allowed to view this spectacle of a build. G
  4. It will be a "hotter" paint and not friendly to plastic. A good automotive primer to protect the body is a necessity. It should dry to the touch quite a bit quicker, but still take a few days to fully cure. Come on folks chime in with more here. G
  5. Is it spitting, or is it misting? If you are getting uneven spits and sputs of paint then stop. If it is barely coming out as a fine mist you are on target. What type of airbrush are you using? If you can achieve a fine mist, then maybe back off and spray from a distance. Gloss black, maybe even a clear gloss over that, and thin, thin layers of Alclad barely misted on. The rubber glove is an excellant tip to test paint flow. G
  6. That is a 1/48th scale Monogram FW190, and dates from at least '65 or earlier. IIRC that's the first reissue and is quite buildable. I haven't a clue what it's worth but for free, ya can't go wrong. G
  7. Good show with some exemplary modelers there. Look for CRM Hobbies in the vendor area and tell Chris "Sergeant Gray" says Hello! Find Chris Mrosko and tell him no matter how much he complains, he still didn't beat me in the softskin category that year long ago. G

  10. What a barge! The real car is gorgeous, and I'm sure your build will reflect this. Moremoremore! G
  11. Whiteout. It can be thinned with laquer thinner. When dry it sands smooth, and I have yet to find a paint that effects it. G
  12. After I posted yesterday it hit me. You have more plastic there than in a Las Vegas strip club. Just sayin'........................ G
  13. This is a good place. Welcome G
  14. Wife #1 left during an all expense paid cruise to SE Asia. We had been married about 3 months. She never expressed an opinion one way or the other. I didn't see her again for another 20 years. Probably a good thing. Wife #2 decided after 23 years, she didn't like me and my hobby. Newly completed builds mysteriously became damaged if not destroyed. I bought a cheap kit, made a big show of building it, then waited. Within a week it was toast, parts everywhere. Hmmmmm, took kids, ran. Wife #3 admired the workmanship but couldn't tolerate the "mess". Gorgeous young woman, crazy as a loon. Wife #4 says she'd rather have me at the kitchen breakfast bar building a model, than in a bar hitting on one. Supports my hobby, and has indicated her desire to build something also. Hmmmmm, I'm keeping this one. Wives come and go, the models are forever. G
  15. Welcome, nice to know you quit peeking........................... G
  16. He's nuts, sign him in. Welcome! G
  17. Case he%%, he's gonna need a garage! Keep it comin' bro, that puppy's just great. G
  18. Oh well now we're talkin'! Moremoremore! G
  19. A memory just returned thanks to Rommel. Rommel I have used Elmers once! My brother, neighbor and my old dog pooled our money (after I swiped some from big sis)and bought an actual honest to goodness airplane kit. Well gentle reader it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize we didn't have the cash on hand for glue. Elmer's baby! Oh yeah Rommel, it didn't work so good. I'll be 55 next month and I've been at this hobby since age 7. I build for myself, for relaxation, because it's my HOBBY! I am blessed as I have already retired once, and continue to work in my field making a goodly wage. I could spend $$$ on this stuff, and truth be told the current Mrs. Gray wouldn't gripe a bit. I do however attempt just a little bit more with each new build, be it a car, a tank or one of my 120 mm military figures. That's just me though, and I do not expect anyone else to take the same path as I. G
  20. DITTO all the above. G
  21. I had a laptop in a patrol car once that was just a bit, well, recalcitrant. I administered some "tough love" one day and discovered: 1. While sometimes appropriate, applications of force do not usually work well with electronics. 2. It is definately a bad idea when it's a touch screen laptop. 3. The on duty IT guy that was working definately earned his sixpack after that one. 4. I never did that again, although threats seem to work well. G
  22. That, or just smack the stuffing out of the tower. G
  23. DML's M4A2 Sherman, all done except the treads. Revell '32 Roadster, I've collected the flathead from the sedan kit, wheels and tires from the '29 PU, and am waiting for a RMCOM stock firewall. And then there's that darn Chevy Impala. I'm finishing that next come heck or high water. G
  24. Get well soon and remember, any activity that begins with the phrase "Hey ya'll, watch this!" can be hazardous to your health. G
  25. Blue skies and sunny beaches! Trouble was the sunny beaches were wearing campaign hats... I didn't get no sunglasses either................ G
