  1. Version 2 for sure. I'm not digging the door line like Zoomy said. I don't know what I'd do but that and a small tweak to the front would work for me. I'd like to see the old style front with the headlights buried. Oh well I couldn't afford it anyway..................... G
  2. I've been occasionally checking in, wondering just when in the hay he's gonna post pics of the model. then I realize he already did.............so much for my "trained observer" skills.
  3. I dress only in attire specially sanctioned by MiB special services. I conform to the identity given to me,eat where I'm told, live where I'm told. I have no identifying marks of any kind. I do not stand out in any way. My entire image is crafted to leave no lasting memory with anyone I encounter. I am a rumor, recognizable only as deja vu and dismissed just as quickly. I don't exist; I was never even born. Anonymity is my name. Silence my native tongue. I am no longer part of the System. I am above the System. Over it. Beyond it. I am "them." We are "they." I am one of the Men in Black. G
  4. Very very nice! G
  5. All these were printed on clear paper with an inklet printer. The simple lettering was done in Word and sized for the car, then printed in a color that was close. The multicolor oval was scanned and printed on white paper after being sized. The pony 'stang stripes were laid out in Adobe paint. I have also had good luck with using a business card program. The standard business card is about the size you need plus the program lets you stretch the letters like on the Crown Vic and Tahoe.
  6. We'd collect bottles to turn in at the grocery store. Once we had accumulated $1.50 we went to the drugstore and bought a kit. Talk about "Group Builds" the whole darn neighborhood was in on them. Misty eyed now....... G
  7. That's nice. The DBS I was able to view up close was about that color, but had charcoal colored leather. Sexy car, it was at the Venetian, downstairs in their Ferrari dealership. No, I didn't ask the price. The cars have no prices on them, I figured if ya gotta ask, ya can't afford it anyway. G
  8. Where I'm at it's best to spray early in the day or late in the evening. I prefer to paint in the morning on my day off. Then I put the body in the sun and let it bake all day. No humidity, but it gets darn hot here, 102 today. G
  9. I got a bunch of photoetch for a Marine Sherman I'm building, got decals ordered too. Darn tracks for my Tiger I are backordered though...... G

  11. NY NY was recently re modeled. Not as fun as it was but still quite an experience. Planet Hollywood is killer. Bellagio sublime. Art Galleries, Flora, Fauna, and exhibits will keep you occupied for days. City Center is open now and Aria is IMHO just perfect. One place to go is the "M" head south on I 15 to the St Rose Parkway, exit go left one block. Gorgeous place. G
  12. 2 million people and counting in Clark County. Consider this, the entire state of Nevada has 3.5 million TOTAL. My office covers four counties. That alone is the entire southern half of the state, with the exception of the city of Laughlin, which has a satellite office of it's own. Nye county (one of mine) is 26,000 sq. miles. Of course it is mostly bomb ranges and Area 51. G
  13. I've built one airplane in 35 years. I amazed myself that I finished it. G
  14. 108 yesterday and today. Even my dog won't go out. If you are visiting, spend the time experiencing what is Las Vegas. It's the reason I moved here! G
  15. There is so much going on here 24/7/365 that it will boggle the mind. Do yourself a favor though. DON'T DRIVE! wait till your third visit. You'll spend all your time looking up at the sights.
  16. Hobby Town USA, Sahara and Decatur, Henderson Hobbies on Water St. in old town Henderson are the two I frequent most often. Scantily clad women no matter what the season here! G
  17. The only issues I ever had was with drying time. Using a can it seemed that it took forever. The paint covered well, and looked fine when it was finally dry. I used Plastikote T235 as a primer. I've never airbrushed that color. Manufacturers tinker with formulations and such without ever telling anyone. The color that worked so well a few years ago might just be different than the same labeled can you just bought. One thing I always struggled with, living in the midwest, was humidity. I'm aware a lot of other factors are involved but weather does play a part. Anyone wanna chime in here with their observations? G
  18. Very nicely done. Now I'm going to have to try that. G
  19. BRUCE!!!! Good ta see ya. Love the panel, one of my all time favs. G
  20. I cannot imagine. We had ditched the year long mandatory LS shirt and tie just a few years before I came on in 1979. Most of the cars had AC by then, unless you drove an old garage extra. Most often we had seats with some cloth. We had a Fleet Services section that actually put some thought into our rides back then. When the bean counters took over is when things began to slide. I recall an '83 Dodge that had a front bench seat made from a single piece of dk blue vinyl. Some rocket scientist armoralled the darn thing, so when ever I turned a corner I slid across the seat. Missouri troopers wore the LS shirt, tie, corfam shoes and the Sam Browne with the cross strap until '84? I think. They adopted a SS shirt finally but after all those years it looked funny to see a trooper wear one. Young coppers today have no idea. G
  21. James! Good to hear from you, how the heck are you! Coming from a builder like yourself that's quite a compliment. Unless of course you refer to photography hiding a multitude of mistakes. Then it's a very true statement. G
  22. Nice work. Keep it going. G
  23. I hear ya! My check covers the house payment with beer money left over. Told MrsG we will always have a house with booze in it! She just retired in March, 20 years in the same casino. She left as Director of Operations, keeps getting offers but she, so far, has said nope I'm happy. Remember the anemic low watt alternators that came on the cars in the 80's? If you had the lights and siren on and tried to transmit, the car would actually bog down. How about parked at an accident scene with the lights on and the darn thing quit because the battery was drained. What fun! NOT. G
  24. That's a nice one Brian. How the heck did ya get all those antennae fixed in place? I'd love to see a plastic version of this, man I'd buy a case. G
