Sculpey contains plastisizers similar to the vinylizers in old kit tires. It will attack styrene like Godzilla attacks Tokyo.
Once baked it changes chemically and is relatively inert. I have painted it after baking but only with acrylics.
Two part epoxy putties are the best for this method by far.

Long ago I scored a great resin '62 Olds 4dr body. I have no idea who made it but
I have an interior, dash, and seats. There is no steering wheel, glass and no under pinnings.
I need to know what kit I can use for a chassis. It looks like a repop of a promo from long ago, but I want to freshen it up.
Any suggestions?

Why, oh why, do folks continue to post pics of real cars, passing them off as models?
Stunning.
Hey for you Phoenix guys, keep me in the loop regarding shows down thataway. I missed yet another IPMS Nats.to work, yet Phoenix isn't far!

Hey would you guys keep me in the loop as far as when shows will occur in your neck o' tha' woods?
We do not have that much going on here, and a few hour drive (5) is all it takes for me. That and I get to stay in Old Town, you know margaritas at the Coyote Cafe!

I'd love to build this body style for sure.
We had the 4door version as traffic cars way back when. It had a 400cid plant with an aircleaner the size of a small ufo. There were tubes running from the snorkles to the grill, with what could only be described as chicken wire covering the opening.
Hit the gas and there was an amazing howl the likes of which are only heard on Air Force bases.
Sucked in birds, trash, and all sorts of stuff was plastered to that grill.
Ah the good old days.

I have several sets of Impala SS wheels, tires, and wheel backs from all the police cars I built. If need be PM me and I'll try to find the box they are stored in.

Any of you ever drive a Fairmont?
How about the Fox bodied LTD, LTD II, Or LTD Crown Vic?
At one time all were used as police cars by us including the Mercury variant of the Fairmont, the Zephyr.
I'm so glad they are gone.
