Heck ya! That pic of the front wheel looks just like a real car. Beautiful work there my friend. G
  2. Very nice, very clean, builds. Don't ya love digital photography? I see all sorts of stuff I buggered up AFTER I post pics! G
  3. LOL I'm closing on 50 years of Building! I have passed the magical mystical five oh a while back and am now certified as a grumpy old fart! G
  4. It's all good! I laugh and laugh at my armor building buddies. I too build quite a bit of armor but some of these guys go to great lengths to replicate an intricate camo pattern. When I point out that the real deal was painted in the field by a p'd off private with a spray gun and probably didn't look so perfect, they all groan and make excuses. It doesn't detract from their creation, it's just another way of looking at it. They, and I, strive for "realism" in the way we build a tank. There is an "art" in creating that realism though! The "art" is how to replicate what is, was, or shall be, at any particular moment in time. Autos are unique in their own way. I love all types of builds, stock, custom, wild, mild and all in between. G
  5. Interesting looking back isn't it? I'm closing on that 50 year mark myself. I was seven, home with tonsilitis, and built some form of 1/72 scale P51. I never really stopped, and like you, still don't quite know what the heck I'm doing. But I'm having fun! G
  6. I have each car in it's own seperate case. They are scattered around the house as I am still unpacking from the move here almost three years ago. G
  7. Me too! Beautiful work! G
  8. Did you perchance document the Riviera build? I'm curious to see how that engine/trans is integrated in that frame. I do like the builds girl, keep em coming. G

    Mustangs!

Here's another I did last year. I'm not sure if I posted this already or not. I suffer from CRS. I used the Revell kit as a base, added wheels and tires from a die cast CVPI, and scratch built the lightbar and radio gear. G
  10. Badger 350-SA Badger Renegade Velocity-DA with adjustable trigger stop. Badger 155 Anthem-DA The 350 for most single color bodies, large areas, base coating/primer. The Velocity for ultra tight detail work, Camo, shading on figures, etc. The 155 For everything else. G

    1967 Goat

Good looking build of my favorite car. I like the front plate too! As a teen I'd see a dark green 67 parked by the hardware store where the owner worked. He had changed the GTO on the grill to read GOAT. Man I loved that car. G

    Mustangs!

Thanks all! I sprayed the Bullitt with plain old Model Master British Racing Green enamel from a rattle can. The only thing different is, after primer, I base coated in flat black. There's no clear on that either, just a light polish with Novus #2. It took FOREVER to dry even outside on my patio, but it was worth it. Next time I'll airbrush the color. G
  13. I love that period of racing and your car captures it very well. One suggestion if I may? SCTA required the cars to run hoods, and they were usually secured with straps. They ran over the top of the hood, one in front, one in back, and were secured to the frame. I like to use two strips of masking tape painted leather brown. I think it would add to what is already a spectacular little car. G
  14. I like the way that came out, especially how you extended the front fenders and under the grill. Looking forward to the completed paint. G
  15. Ditto what Zoom said about Tamiya Laquer thinner. I have had no luck with store grade laquer thinner and Tamiya paint. I never seem to find a match like Tamiya's own laquer thinner. If it's a small piece or I'm in a hurry it's Windex for me baby. G G
  16. Beer bottle and tape. G
  17. Future will work, but as stated it takes a bit to dry. I use it a lot on headlights and taillights where the lense is supported fairly solidly. White glue is good, again remember it dries slooooowly. I sometimes use Tamiya clear acrylic, it's a bit thicker from the bottle than Future, but, it will "wick" itself in and under a part just fine. When dry it is rock hard because it's PAINT!!! What ever you do go piece by piece, side by side, and take your time. G
  18. Smooooooooth! Nice, real nice. G
  19. That really turned out well, beautiful car. I've built that kit once, I really liked it. G
  20. I have begun attending IPMS meetings. They are held every Thursday evening at Henderson Hobbies on Water St in old town Henderson. One week is cars one airplanes one armor etc. I attend every week as I build a little bit of everything. We will be there tonight. Oh and the meetings start at roughly 630pm.

  21. Joe, I haven't tried the salt as yet, but a guy in the club has. He experienced what I refer to as a happy accident. The salt grains dissolved a bit leaving a faded area around the chip. It looks fantastic, but then again he's a great builder. G

  23. All us older "gents" can remember Fords, GMs and Chrysler products from the 80's. They all had some of the most bizzare colors, details, accents, and options ever marketed. G
  24. An overbite like that can kill ya! It can be sexy, I'm thinking of a certain actress I met last month, but that 'Stang is UGLY! http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2869204992/nm0018554 G
