  3. Anyone have any updates yet? What types of adhesives are safe with this stuff? G
  4. Good Job! Where did those awesome taillights come from? G
  5. I'd a bought cases and cases! G
  6. I'm digging the body color accents of the interior. Keep it coming. G
  7. Thanks for the encouragement guys. Mostly I have the radio and siren box to mount as well as the shotgun. All I'm really waiting on is the vacuform glass. It sort of scares me!!! Any tips for a vacform newbie? G
  8. My books and photos won't scan that well so here's a few shots from the interweb. For discussion purposes only, I give you some Harley's. The all white bike is a '68 and the blue/white Glide is a '69. The alternator made it's appearence shortly thereafter so these are representative of the model you are building. G

    Nice, real nice. G
  10. More, more, more! G
  11. As far as the forks and shocks go the lits are pretty good representations of the period pieces. The visible portions of the forks are just what you see in the kit.The lower is a simple chrome tapered shaft the telescopes into a chrome sleeve. The rear shocks have no visible springs and look for all the orld like an auto shock. Remember, this version of the bike was produced not long after rear suspension was introduced. Let me get my refs together. G
  12. It's all good! G
  13. I'm going to finish this before I start my next '32 Ford, even though I have all the parts ready to go. I have had this on the bench on and off for over four years now. It's one of my ongoing projects to build as many of the cars I drove during my career. I used the Modelhaus body, and the chassis from a Revell Impala SS. The interior is Modelhaus, with the colors and detailing to match my old car. I had the police door decals made, but for the life of me I cannot remember who did them. He printed a whole sheet based on the artwork I sent him and they are gorgeous. Numbers and district markings were made and printed by me. OMG we had funky markings way back when didn't we?
  14. I built this a couple of times. If you are going for a police motor I have references. G
  15. While singing show tunes.................................. G
  16. Evercoat is the one I couldn't think of, but Bondo will do just fine. No real worries about adhesion, though I'd "scuff up" the plastic a bit with a fine sand paper first just because. G
  17. I finished a land war in Asia, once....... I like the car, that would definately have driven me crazy. Well, crazier. G
  18. Do you have a home improvement store anywhere nearby? Plastic "for sale" signs are styrene and are cheap compared to speciality sheets. As far as putty I'd recommend any two part catalyzed putty like Bondo. Pick some up at Wally World. You do have a Wal Mart in the stix right? G
  19. Hmm sounds familiar, must be due to the geography of the valley. G
  20. You won't have any issues long term, that's as stable as paint gets. When fully cured, i.e. all the carrier solvents have gassed out,it is quite inert. G
  21. No stitches so far but came real close last week. Not paying attention I let the knife roll off the table. It fell point first and embedded itself in my shoe. I was wearing those heavy rubber crocs, and the blade had enough momentum to push the tip through to where it was just touching my big toe. Whew G
  22. I am speaking of "Joe Jones AKA Pasquale Guido Luchinelli". I think I investigated him. G AKA Bernard Miller (think about it)
  23. Oh and if using Windex,it can be used to clean the airbrush. Just remember to clean it from the airbrush afterward as the ammonia will corrode brass parts. G
  24. Not necessarily. Tamiya's paints are unique unto themselves, more of an acrylic "laquer" than a true acrylic per se. Pollyscale's acrylic paint reducer renders Tamiya into cottage cheese, (don't ask) and I've found Tamiya's laquer thinner to be the bee's knees for spraying their acrylic. You will have to test for compatibility as you move along toward paint. G
  25. Started in '79 and was issued a Model 10. Upgraded to a 681 which is what I was carrying until we adopted the Beretta 92 in 1989. I didn't retire until '07. Gotta Glock 19 for work now. G
