  1. Here's a copy of a photo from the newspaper article on our academy library. This display has two additional shelves, plus there were cars on the bookshelves as well.
  2. Always prime bodies however; use primer that will complement the final color. For instance, Turquoise will pop over flat white. Gloss black will look good over flat black. Red over pink primer. When I paint a chassis or suspension components I usually don't prime first. The colors used are usually used as primer anyway. A wise LHS owner once told me to use silver paint over colored styrene to block the inevitable "bleed through" of the molded color. G
  3. I'm trying to find them. G
  4. Now that is nice. G
  5. I remember that one Dave! Good stuff. G
  6. Here are the rest of my builds. Maryland '49 Ford. California '49 Ford. California Impala SS, not a phantom, these were used as recruitment cars and later on the road. Chicago '92 Chevy. Nevada '53 Ford. CHP Recruiting Dodge. SLMPD '96 Tahoe. SLMPD '49 Ford. I left about 45 built police cars on display at the St Louis Police Academy library. G
  7. I can't remember if I posted this one. Modelhaus conversion on Revell chassis. My inspiration, the real thing. G
  8. Math for Marines: WAHN! HWOO! HREEP! FHORE! After FHORE comes MANY! G
  9. About 20 years ago the then Mayor of St Louis declared the city's flood wall "open season" for graffiti. He went public and told the tagger world "Stay away from the historic landmarks, bridges and buildings. We have a great canvass for your imagination. NO gang fighting." "ANY BS and the offer is rescinded". To this day the 30 foot high, 18 mile long concrete wall is a beautiful representation of art. Heck even some coppers, don't know who added their designs to the montage. Guess what, the rest of the town stayed relatively graffiti free. G
  10. That's awesome! G
  11. Ok, let's call this one finished shall we? G
  12. Only three of us drove this particular car. Directly across from the South Patrol Division was a YMCA with a large parking lot. We'd park it on the YMCA lot and hide the keys in a prearranged location at the station, known only to us and one trusted dayshift desk officer. Anytime inquiries were made about the car, anyone asked could truly say they hadn't seen it. They hadn't either, it was hidden behind the Y near the employees' entrance. The YMCA employees were happy they had that car parked there. We were happy it was hidden. When you have a fleet of 365 marked cars, not detective cars, not vans, trucks or motorcycles, but 365 marked cars alone, it doesn't take much to put rotating one of those by the wayside and move on. G
  13. ZOMBIE THREAD! Looking good Tom. G
  14. Thank you all! 440 I realized that typo as soon as you mentioned it. I also know that after a repaint, layers of Future and dull cote it will just have to remain grammatically incorrect. G
