  1. I will get right on that later tomorrow. 1105 pm here right now and I'm at work screwing off. G
  2. Funny story. Back in the day the old desk sergeant orders a patrolman to 635 Kosciuszko for a report of a dead horse in the street. Seems a draft horse decided to pass away while on the job that day. Hours later the patrolman returns to the station completely disheveled and covered in muck and horse hair. The sergeant demands to know why he looks so filthy. The patrolman's reply " That BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH horse was on 6th street." G
  3. Thanks Carl! Google it, you'd be amazed at what turns up. Renault built it for the French army in WW I. Examples are still being discovered all over the globe to this day. The most recent I recall is in the early 2000's. in Iraq. G
  4. Thank you all ! Jim that's an FT-17, very similar to the M1917. In fact it's so close, I didn't even modify the base kit. G
  5. Most folks from St Louis have a fairly neutral accent. Get about 35-45 miles outside the city and wow, you'll need a hand book to decipher the speech. It's also divided between "Flat lander" and "Hillbilly". The biggest thing I've noticed all along is the pronunciation of words by St Louisans. With such a long rich history of French control, I still find it amazing to listen to the pronunciation of common French names and places.( I do speak a smattering of French as does MrsG.) I refer to it as Teutonic French LOL. Auguste Chouteau was a founding father of the city. In St Louis, Chouteau is pronounced "SHOW' Toe". The city of Creve Coeur is a tony west county suburb. Say "Creeve Core" Now for the Spanish influence. Juaniata Street. Yup you guessed it "June EE eta" Way too many to list here. The accents on the syllables are all wrong as well as the pronunciation. G
  6. Very nice. A casual glance could lead one to believe they were looking at the real car in a dealer brochure. Good job young man. G
  7. When they look this good, the post deserves to be resurrected. G
  8. The first ever use of what could be called a tank by the Marine Corps. The armored cars previously used in Central and South America were no longer serviceable so the Marines got these to try instead. Two man crew, small cannon weighing in at 6 tons basic engine and drive line. What more could you ask for? This is the Meng 1/35th scale kit and a sweet little kit it is. Paint is mostly Tamiya with a smattering of oil and enamel. G
  9. That looks like fun! I will definitely stay tuned. G
  10. Very nice. G
  11. I don't know how I missed this all this time. That's one of my favorite cars and you certainly did it justice Harry. Good job sir. G
  12. Beautiful work! G
  13. From all of us who keep the wolves away from the flock, we say thank you. What irks me though? An old friend, 61 years old and only retired for three years, died Wednesday. Now, the widow receives a small percentage of his pension, but where in hell does the remainder of that 35 years of accrued pension go to? Oh and teachers? Clark County School District teachers routinely put $3000- $5000 of their own money annually into their curriculum for basic supplies. They aren't paid squat out here. CCSD is ranked in the bottom 10 nationwide, in fact I believe they ranked 48 of 50. That's because they don't pay well, benefits are fairly good but hey, 40-45 kids in each class? We are building the first new school here in over a decade. My BIL retired from CCDC and a co workers wife is a teacher. I get the facts straight out. G
  14. Now that's funny. Good looking kit. G
  15. MrsG's entire family are rabid White Sox fans. They are so so with the Cubs. In my world it's the Cardinals. G
  16. Thanks gents! I took a long look and decided she was a bit too clean. I added some mud made from white glue, pigments and acrylic craft paint. . And the adversary. G
  17. Nicely done young Jedi. G
  18. Resin, scratch, whatever. I'm really going to follow this build. Love me some ice cream............... G
  19. The Missouri Highway Patrol used the Mercury Grand Marquis from the 70's to the 90's. St Louis Metro had them in the Traffic Division during this same period. I'd love to see a conversion. G
  20. St Louis as well. The tried and true police headquarters building was suddenly "condemned" by city inspectors a few years after I retired. A nice vacant office building was offered at a bargain price. Turns out the old building sits on prime real estate, and the new building was an albatross around the owners neck. Win-win for silly hall and everyone's brothers in law. G
  21. Many moons ago I get picked for a task force assignment because of my experience in UC work and covert surveillance. At about 9-10 pm on a chilly spring night I'm sitting on the ground, behind a bush, in someone's front yard. I'm at the corner of the house by the gangway in case I need to move quickly. Well as time goes on I become more focused on the goings on across the street at my target location. It was a rather well known serial rapist case that made national headlines a few years later. Anyway, I begin to feel a "presence" nearby. Nothing but a feeling, but that feeling is I'm no longer alone. As that sinks in, I begin to hear heavy panting to my right. I turn and am now face to face with the homeowner's English Mastiff. MoFo had a nose the size of an orange, it looked especially large since he was just getting ready to lick my right ear. I slowly moved my hand and began petting the beast all the while talking softly to him. They are gentle creatures but very protective of what they perceive as "theirs". Next thing I know a voice comes from a window behind me in the gangway. "It's ok officer, he heard you and just wanted to say hello". "He knew right away you were the police." That darn dog sat with me for the next hour. As we terminated the detail I spoke to the homeowner. He told me he always knew the target location was "trouble" but never had enough to support his suspicion. When the family realized a 200 lb white guy was sitting in their bushes, they were overjoyed the cops were trying. He told me the beast of a dog just knew I was a cop. He saw me and his tail was wagging. Busted by a Mastiff. G
