  6. That's a whole lot of shiny right there. Good Job sir! G
  7. Bruce I first sprayed the tank Vallejo "Sand Yellow" overall. After allowing a day or so for that to cure properly I used a wide soft brush to paint the green pattern based on photos of the real tank. That took three light coats of Lifecolour "Oive Green" to fully cover the yellow. I went back with some Vallejo "Off White" and, with a nice pointy brush, hand painted the white line. I tacked the sand shield's side panels on so the pattern flows onto them, then removed the panels to facilitate adding the tracks later. Due to construction of the front fenders I painted the lower half of the tank and the drive sprockets first. Then I put the drive sprockets on taking care they rotated, then added the PE fenders around them. Tedious but worth it. G
  8. This is just great! Keep it coming sir! G

  11. All that 1967 weather came right down the Mississippi River valley and dumped about 13 inches on St Louis as well. St Louis blizzard of '82 gave us 26 inches in 8 hours. Now that screwed up traffic! The absolute best was the Las Vegas blizzard of '08. 8 inches of heavy wet snow fell by my house. Folks completely panicked and abandoned their cars here as well. This a high desert so it does snow, but......out here we have an entire segment of the population that has never seen snow in their lives outside photos. G
  12. Thank you all! I scored a set of figures from fleabay. It's the Henry Ford and friends set and the manufacturer is ICM not Masterbox. Stay tuned. G

  15. Thank you all! Curt, now that I want to see! G
  16. Thanks guys. James I'm looking at all sorts of possibilities and Tamiya is one for sure. They made figures to coincide with the large scale armor kits they used to produce. Bruce the hood is removable. I cut it from the cowl and added a strip of styrene to the rear. G
  17. Ok work has been a real bi...er bear, but I have gotten some build time in. Typical DML fare just have to plan ahead because of the fender skirts. Here are some quickie photos. I used Vallejo Model Color 916 Sand Yellow for the base coat. I added a drop of Dark Sand and a dab of white as well. It airbrushed just fine thinned with MM Acrylic Thinner and a drop of Vallejo retarder. The green is Lifecolor Olive Green and the border is Vallejo Off White. Next time I will AB Vallejo using a larger .5mm tip. It sprays well but needs to be slightly thicker than Tamiya or MM Acryl. G
  18. DAK being an acronym for Deutches Afrikakorps. Tell me you don't hear the theme from "Indiana Jones" when looking at this. I used the old Italeri 1/24th scale civilian Opel Blitz. I had to add the military headlight covers. I custom mixed Tamiya acrylics to replicate period correct "tropical" colors. The crates are resin items from ValueGear in 1/20 and 1/16 scale but look right at home here. I made the pallet with coffee stir sticks pilfered from a local chain beverage company. I scanned a lot of clipart and printed my own decals. The first set looked good applied over a gloss coat but silvered greatly once the dull coat was applied. Not happy with the colors anyway I stripped and repainted all but two. I'm looking for some figures and then will model a desert base. I'm thinking that Master Box set of Henry Ford and friends will convert quite well. G
  19. Sorry for the delay in posting. The holidays were quite busy and I also decided to repaint and re-decal all but two of the crates. She's going "Under Glass" now. G
  20. Yup. Out in the middle of freakin' no where surrounded by water. G
  21. Beautiful work! G
  22. You will never hear from me again. Well maybe Danno and Jonathan will, I'll buy a place nearby so I can bother them. G
