Looking good my friend! It is true that great minds think alike. Keep us motivated by posting updates! At 58 I have been smoke free for two years, my drinking is minimal now and I have lost 35 pounds. I am 6'2" and got to 303lbs 2 years ago smoking a pack and a half a day. G

What model was your favorite build?
Agent G replied to clovis's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This one. I've related the story before but it bears repeating. I would occasionally find one of my finished builds mysteriously broken. I was able to deduce my then wife, ex#2, was deliberately breaking certain models. I began this build and at the same time started another. I kept this one "under wraps" while exclaimimg my pride for the other. When finished I proudly displayed the other build, a 1/48th scale P-51, and placed it on the shelf. I took this car and set it in a dresser drawer. Low and behold the P-51 got damaged a week later. I took the kids and moved out shortly thereafter. This CHP Ford earned a few awards, but I cherish it for it's "revealing" nature. G -
Oh Marshall I know all those places. Lots of Ozark vacations and deer hunting in and around Cabool in Texas county. That will be awfully pretty, but awfully hard to work in. G

Oh yes they did! I called my brother in law who lives in Antioch just to goad him a bit. He called me names I haven't heard since I was aboard ship................................... G

That's right, the knob was under the wings and the bombs had little hooked tabs that held them on. I recall on the Gulfhawk you had to pull the prop forward and rotate it to engage the gears to retract the landing gear. As I remember it was beyond my skill level and I glued everything. Mako, Tiger, I can't remember. I just recall it was a good fun kit and I loved the turntable. G

I like em all, as long as they're fast and handle well. Say what you want about the name "Rocket Bunny" but put your right foot down on a well built example and you'll definately have fun. I like the Revell Mustang LX regardless of the roof height issue. Heck I've built two already and have plans for three more. I have Danno scaring up some of the Master Caster's bodies so we will see just how they look side by side. Haven't bought the '57 Ford............................. yet. G

Good deal Joe. I just think we will get more participation with an extended time frame. I sat down on my three days off and finished the Panzer I Befehlswagen. Today I basecoated her with Floquil SP Dark Lettering Gray which is a close match for early war Dunkelgrau, Panzer Gray. Floquil airbrushes like a dream and dries hard. The idea was to have this set all month and cure. I'll post pics this evening. G

New Years Eve model plans?
Agent G replied to ZTony8's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Just finished airbrushing the base coat on an armor build. I plan on working on another this evening. Back to work tomorrow, lots of OT in the schedule. G -
All the in-laws are off for the holiday, thank goodness. They are located all over the Chicagoland area from Huntly to Antioch. The blizzard of '67 came all the way to St Louis. I was 12 and remember shovelling our newly purchased homes driveway. We had just moved to the 'burbs from the north side. Biggest slab of concrete I had seen to that point. We had big snows in '81 and '82 as well. '81 shut the city down and they activated the National Guard. It was an engineer unit that used it's earthmoving equipment to plow the streets. In '82 I had just purchased a house on the south side, see a pattern?, and made it to work on a wing and a prayer. I was the first copper to show that day. Fast forward to '08, Henderson, Nevada, second winter in my new home and we get upwards of 8" of snow. This is in the freaking Mojave Desert for goodness sakes. It must be me. Chilly 59 here today. G

That's what I'm talking about. DML has long since amortized the cost of the CyberHobby "Orange Box Value Line" kits. Include the figure sprue at a nominal cost, add some PE, sell the stink out of them and it's all good. We get a unique subject, some modern details and figures for the spares box for less than what the kit cost 10 years ago. G

as another year ends...
Agent G replied to 62rebel's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Another year closer to gaining the ability to rapid prototype parts and/or whole kits at home at a price that won't cause bankruptcy. G -
63 yesterday, not even a cloud after 10am. Upper 50's today, blue skies abound. G
