  1. Why buy this when I can purchase a well equipped Escape for $1000's less? Same same with the MKS (Taurus) and MKZ (Focus). I lost all hope for Lincoln when the Town Car went away. G
  2. Everything looks good from where I sit. Colors are a personal choice, it's your build paint it what pleases you. One thing about two tones though, regardless of colors. Look at the Camaro's body, it's all curves and flowing lines. You have a sharp angle where the purple comes over the top of the car and then carries forward at the rear fender. To me, just me now, that seems jarring on such a curvy car. If that were a more flowing transition I believe it would look better. Don't change a thing, maybe just think about these issues on the next one. G
  3. I was walking an overtime foot beat on the St Louis riverfront. My partner and I were on the sidewalk at the base of the grand staircase which leads up to the Gateway Arch. A family of tourists approaches and the obviously exasperated father blurts out "Officer, which way to the g#####m arch?" We couldn't help ourselves, both of us pointed straight up. The man's gaze slowly followed our fingers and there, looming in all it's stainless steel glory, was the 630 foot masterpiece. The teenage members of the family stifled laughter and with much eye rolling at their dad walked away. The Missus turned to the man and began a tounge lashing I can still hear to this day. Ever hear the phrase "can't see the forest for the trees" ? G
  4. Chilly 66 degrees here in Sin City. I saw a cloud early on, it left though. Humidity was high today, a whole 22%! G
  5. I dated all three of them. G
  6. Please do! G
  7. Very, very nice. G
  8. I actually had that happen to me while stopped in a rest area on the continental divide. Insert BMW for Honda. G
  9. I spent the better part of two years building Marine Corps Shermans from WWII. I have completed 6 so far and have just scratched the surface. I have one entire 4drawer storage unit filled with Sherman minutia. The kits themselves are stored elsewhere. Truth be told after the fall of the "Iron Curtain" we discovered a relative that had served in the 15th Panzer Division and was captured in Tunisia by US troops. Thus I have an affinity for Afrika Korps subjects. I get really involved in projects. G
  10. Way too cool. G
  11. Here in Vegas the Town Car is supreme. The stretch TC is slowly being replaced by anything you can imagine. Saw a stretched Lincoln MKT the other day outside the Golden Nugget. G
  12. Thank you all. Jim, that is actually Dark Yellow on the PzIV. Lightened up a bit with Deck Tan it looks tan. I went light due to the scale. The G model was brand new when the switch from dark gray to dark yellow occurred. Interestingly enough, Panzers slated for North Africa were shipped to Russia after the surrender of the Panzer Armee Afrika. So the Russian front saw tan/sand/green panzers upon which troops painted dark gray stripes. Now that is a curious sight, contest judges shake their heads until someone states fact.
  13. I had a ball building the new Revell Mustang LX. That said AMT's old Taurus SHO kit was a joy to build in all it's permutations. I have built a lot of Tamiya's armor, but no autos. G
  14. Nice! Not as "phantom" as one might think. At any given time CHP has test mules all aover the state for evaluation. Sometimes they are there simply to evaluate the power train, not the entire car per se. Sweet build. G
  15. I like that, a lot. I've spent a lot of time driving these cars from '79 on up. I never understood why Ford didn't do this. G
  16. 1.72 scale Chris. It's only 2 inches long, the tank that is............................... G
  17. Gene I just saw this so here goes. The nature of laquer is such that once sprayed all the coats "merge" into each other. Future will not add to the finish as there is no way to blend it in like the original clear coat. I feel your pain as I lived most of my life across the state in St Louis, MO. G
  18. Superb work Harry! Are you spraying the paint from the can or decanting it in an AB? Gorgeous either way. G
  19. Beautiful work! Heal quickly my friend, we want to see what you can do when you are up to full speed. G
  20. I was 17, not quite 18 upon my original enlistment. 22 not quite 23 when I graduated from the Platoon Leaders Course. Most folks don't realize how young the members of the various branches of service really are. Think about this, I was a 23 year old Captain with responsibility for hundreds of lives and tens of millions of dollars of equipment spread across the Pacific Rim. No one I worked for questioned my ability, therefore I did not question myself for I was a United States Marine. G
  21. Total kits in stash (all types): 202 Built this year: 13 Percentage: 6.4% G
  22. Thank you gentlemen! Now if I can uncross my eyes and get rid of this headache........................ G
  23. To all my brothers and sisters in uniform, may you always have fair winds and following seas. Happy Veteran's Day! G
  24. I'm actually going to call this complete as the only thing I added was an oil wash on the tracks after these photos. I detail painted everything in acrylic, then did a pin wash with MM Enamel Grunbraun darkened with burnt umber oil. It brought out the color modulation so I decided to leave well enough alone. Here's my only other 1/72 scale build, it's a Pz IV from the 1st Panzer Division in Italy. I'll create a desert base for the Pz III that is similar. G
  25. Go look in "All the rest" for a laugh! G
