Help, Hemi Head Location, Early / Gen2
disabled modeler replied to 10thumbs's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The 1958 392ci Hemi I once owned had staggered heads and the distributor was in the back of the intake valley pan...its just less obvious due to the look and shape of the valve covers on the early ones far as I could tell. Neat bit of information is the valve cover from one of these old Hemi engines will cover a small block Chevy intake manifold...LOL... -
Thanks Lee and Ray....very kind of you all. I had planed to build a few replicas of some of his cars/trucks to give to him soon as i could find them...may still do it if possible???

John...My old 392ci ones ran one had chromed valve covers on it...was a bummer to have to sell them off...bought one for only $25.oo and all were complete. I wanted to build a street rod and use one of them in it a 29 Ford 5 window coupe but it had to go too...another bummer. I do still have a pair of Chevy 409ci valve covers on the wall in my garage and a few auto/oil/gas related signs in there too...love those things.

Cool find...I would have had to try to get the whole engine... I use to own a 354ci/and two 392ci Hemi engines one had 2 4s on it...sadly I had to sell them off after my accident.

Standardize Wheel Attachment

Believe it or not I am happy with the metal axle type...plastic tends to sag over time but then again I am a promo and promo like kit fan myself.... -
Russian 4x4 van...?
disabled modeler replied to disabled modeler's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
For me it would have to be plastic and 1/25th or 1/24rth scale...never been much for die-cast or small scale stuff. Yes it would be nice to have some of the small scale stuff made in a larger scale and it could open a new market area for the companies with some of them...I know Monogram made a 1/24rth scale Rambo chopper that sold well. I just think the vans are cool looking and have a lot of mod possibilities for building them if they were larger scaled. -
Brought my late 50th b-day present home yesterday
disabled modeler replied to Can-Con's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Not bad at all for a 85...will make a nice resto project. I had a 75 and then a 82 but the 82 got totaled 2 weeks after restoring it and starting to drive her...got hit from behind at about 60mph while stopped at a red light in a 30 zone...4 foot shorter on the drivers side rear...bummer. -
Russian 4x4 van...?
disabled modeler replied to disabled modeler's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks..yes it is...was hoping there was a plastic kit in my scale range...some things that look odd are cool too. There are many 1/32nd and 1/43rd scale kits that would be nice to see in 1/25th or 1/24rth scale too. -
What is the Russain 4x4 van the police/military,etc. use over there...seen some on you tube was wondering if they are available in 1/25th or 1/24rth scale plastic kits..???...in a way they kind of look like a VW bus?
