  1. I see Nick...Yeah he was just hoping for a steal of a deal thinking you might just be trying to get rid of stuff maybe. Yeah I can understand the way you feel over it...don't let it get to you though there is always one out there like him. As you know my income level is pitiful but Id never have the nerve to ask that for a sealed kit that is of something I wanted.
  2. Devastating.... The orange GTO looks like my old TA did but only it was from behind...I got to see it from photos a friend took of it sitting in a scrapyard lot before they processed it... it only had 33,000. miles on it....now i have 350,000+ in me....
  3. My body feels about 70 most of the time to me at 50 but my mind still wants to be in my 20s... ....one of the strangest things is trying to get use to not being strong and full of energy as I use to be after the last 20 years since my accident happened...enjoy it while you can.
  4. I have to agree with Mathew and Tom on some not being worth $3.oo to me anyway mainly Nascar of the 90s and up just never liked them they all look the same now if there not a 90s and up Nascar and sealed or open and mint,etc....Id have no problem with getting a kit for $3.oo in a world where there just getting higher priced every day...would be a steal of a deal depending on the kit but I do know the situation where some people think their stuff is worth its weight in gold and yours is the leftovers...why??? I have paid more than that for kits and build ups at garage sales here...try not to take it personally it has nothing to do with you or your stuff...just someone unaware of what they were looking at or just trying to get a deal...some want too good of a deal at times.
  5. I use to race seen many gassers with radiators and fan belts they needed them to try and keep them cool...seen very few without and they usually lost the engines quickly due to overheating even though many that had the fan belt would have no fan blade just used the pulley to run the water pumps. Some did run what they called dry block(with no radiator)something I would never do those engines cost too much to replace often.
  6. Johnny... I have hit the wall way too many times myself...usually due to lack of needed parts it just seems to plague me. I think the really nice 70 Wildcat curbside should do the trick...its a great kit and like me right in my passion area too...never bothered me if a kit was a curbside or not heck some I even prefer that way. Give the old Buick a try I think it will get you going...big beautiful and long.
  7. NICE...!
  8. looking like you have all the mold lines cleaned up good...cant wait to see it in some paint.
  9. They usually do take quite a bit of care taking them apart old plastic gets brittle but you did a good job of it by the looks. Most of this body style promos have a small crack where the quarter panel meets the roof at the side window top rear...was lucky with mine they were not cracked and still pretty flexible. I have to agree with you the 70 to 76s were my favorite shapes of the cars...I am partial to the 75s though owning a real 75 TA once.
  10. That is SWEET Frank...!!!
  11. If I had it I would just restore it to its proper glory...just polish the body out. I had a promo of a 72 I restored but it went when the thieves broke in here along with many other old promos and kits. I think it looks great the way it is adding a little polishing...I love restoring these things!....love to have more.
  12. Great score Nick!.... Love the 4door Tempest and wagon...very cool!
  13. Very COOL Dan...!!!! Love it!
  14. Very nice build up!...I have one of those but there was no rear bumper in the kit...bummer! I like the resin one but there is just no way Id ever be able to justify or in the first place afford that for one...yikes!
  15. real nice!...I always had trouble with the pinstripe decals...looks great!
  16. Here there just are too many reissued and or new kits that never show up since we have no real hobby shop...so most kits to me are a HSO item.
  17. Very cool!...love wagons!
  18. Me I like them all but have a soft spot for the 74.75s owning a 75 once.
  19. Me too...!!! While your at it what about doing a 73 to 76 Pontiac Grand Am...?....love wagons!...absolute nut about them from the 60s to 70s.
  20. Exactly G.... And that is how it should be its a time to cherish their and your memories and help each other get through the loss. Keepsakes are more important than many people realize no matter how small...it helps in the grieving process to have something to remember them by and times you had with them. A month before the wife and I were married her moms house had a fire...her mom and step dad both died in the fire but her 3 brothers jumped out a second floor window and escaped. With no other choice we had an instant family adopted her brothers as my own..wouldn't have had it any other way ether...they had lost their parents and closest relatives were 9 hours away so I was not about to see them loose their sister and friends too. It was not easy but we managed.
  21. I would never buy a car on line but might make a sort of arrangement to buy if one was ok once I was there...maybe. Unless I dealer puts it in writing with all stipulations I will never buy an extended warranty again...we did once on a car that was 1 year old 19,000.miles bought 7 year 100,000.mile coverage...(dealer neglected to tell me the extended warranty starts the very first day the car was put into service when it was new and that does include the factory 3 tear 36,000 mile original warranty for a total of only 4 years extra so we paid for the original warranty coverage ourselves) When the car was 6 years old to us the trans went out...was on my own to get it repaired with only 60,000 moles on it...it had passed the 7year(extended) warranty we paid for...buyer beware.
  22. Nice work Tim!
