When you reach a certain high level of building, it all boils down to styles. There is no real "best guy" in the world out there. Any nice model can be beat out on any given day. No matter how great a certain car project is, there's always somebody out there that can & will do better....You can bet on it. This is model car building, not a heavyweight championship title fight!!....There is no Champ and contenders...etc... Just think of all the great builders in various corners of the world who aren't even known yet, don't want to be known, and are not "in the typical loop/circle of the usual mixing bowl of well knowns." Who cares who's best....It's a title that really doesn't exist.

Kit prices for a well detailed kit??
Jeff Sauber replied to gbdolfans's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Delusional much? Good Lord son, I think a substantial med adjustment may be in order. Sorry, but I have to LOL @ you acting as if you're some big, hot shot, builder & author, who is in great demand...... "people like me"... you say. Your arrogance is strong young Jedi. I think you must assume that I'm some sort of inexperienced little newb who is opening up his first kit and doesn't know jack about the hobby. Get off your high horse, Mate..... You got a long way to go till you become the next Tim Boyd, Bob Downie, Alex Kustov, Clay Kemp, or any other established contributor....Now take a deep breath, it'll all be ok. -
Kit prices for a well detailed kit??

Oh please, You're not getting paid squat for the article and you know it.....The printed magazine isn't going to suddenly fail because you were asked to post the article here as well. Enough with the spin doctoring and diversionary mumbo jumbo. Stop!! just Stop!! Either post the tutorial or don't...Quite frankly may dear, at this point, I don't give a darn. -

Instant grat? Where the hell do you see my asking for instant grat? All I asked was that you start sharing the tutorial with us here. I never demanded that you finish it in it's entirety right away.....Sheeeeeesh. Many of us asked here to see what you have in mind and to share some info, and yet two weeks go by with no follow ups. I understand that you want to see and admire your handy work in print in the mag, but you could also share the info in the tips and tricks section. You're not getting paid or have signed a contract to do the article exclusively for the mag, so you could post it here a little at a time as you go. Alot of us choose to use this forum as a "mag" instead of the print version. At this point in time I don't even suscribe to the print version of MCM. I use the forum. Just think, In the time you have spent arguing back and forth on this stupid thread you could have had at least 2 decent installments in the tips section by now. Good day, Sir. -

You're the one who has to be kidding here......You have time to post argumentative comments, but you've left the rest of us that are interested in your wheel clinic just hanging in the breeze. How about showing us the first few installments of your tutorial? See, Treehugger Dave did the same thing....He came on here teasing us with this silly little leather interior tutorial, then bacially left us hanging and ran away. Seriously man, The scratchbuilding wheel thing sounds cool, so let's get to work!! -
Beautiful work, Very clean & Looks great!!

If you end up running low 9's you're likely going to have to put in a full cage. They won't let you run that fast without at least the cradle above your head..[at least not around my local tracks]. I was running flat 12's with my '69 camaro and I was catching a bunch of heat because my cage wasn't up to specs....If I was pulling 9's I never would have gotten past tech inspection.

U got a problem, Playa?............

Careful on your way out of the building, Mark. With all the drool laying around on the floor, I'd hate to see you slip and hurt yourself.... "cuidado, piso mojado"........

Mini's Johan cutlass vs newage donk trend !
Jeff Sauber replied to David@MinidreamsInc.'s topic in Model Cars
Great job on the body....as for the wheels, I'm not big at all on the cartoon look and wouldn't have used them....but that's just me. I have to lol @ "PITTSBURGH" for appointing himself the Comment Police and getting so worked up about a model he didn't even build. This is the world wide web, as long as the comments are within the parameters of the rules here, it's all fair game. By the way, I don't see anybody bashing the model itself or the modeler that built it...There's just differing opinions about the wheel choice, [which isn't really all that surprsing considering DONKS aren't really all that popular among the classic automotive community]. -

Great job on a kit that doesn't get much love... Alot of folks consider this kit to be quite a flop due to it's body inaccuracies and such, but you sure made it look great!! Very clean work...Nice!

Perhaps this thread will need a tow hookup to a nearby forum graveyard.... Better get the undertaker to prep us a coffin... I see vultures begining to circle above. -

Anyone messes with the refreshment carts, the'll be speaking to my attorney... We at "Forum Popcorn INC" are used to working with tough crowds. We are one of the few vending companies that use a security force to help insure a safe work enviroment for our employees/vending cart attendants. -

Oh ok, that was an old pic of me from 2008...I had just purchased my Dodge/hemi quad cab. Yeah, the "car movie" was crazy stuff....I don't remember what age I was when I first watched it, but it freaked me out as well. My friends and I were all still riding around town on bicycles back then, and I was always looking back to see if there were any black lincolns closing in...LOL That thing had one of the meanest looking front ends I've ever seen. I've always wanted to do a detailed plastic version, but my good reference pics are few and far between. I think it was a Barris creation If I recall correctly. Not sure what was under the hood, chassis, or how the interior looked. Very evil looking car indeed.. -

lol... Well, look at this way....The last the Circus came to town I was working the vending carts, and got caught in crossfire when the melee began.... I'm gonna be ready this time....Heck, I may bring the football helmet along as well. -

I Don't know why, but I have this nagging feeling that perhaps I should go and get my apron, hat, and popcorn cart ready..... -
That's a neat wagon. Looks good slammed way down....Keep us posted, very cool.

I agree with some of the fellas here... No need for a poll, if the "how-to" is any good, folks will follow along. Put together a clinic and post/submit it up. Who give's a rat's butt about percentage numbers and popular votes...If your topic is good learning material, it'll be worthwhile for those interested whether here or in a Mag.,

That's a slick looking Elky.. Nice job!!.... Those 59's always provide good exercise in Bare Metal Foiling.

Jeff Sauber replied to Mudpit602's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Toby, you can also try touching up the uneven color seperation lines where neccessary with a small brush, and if the paint seperation line is too thick, you can also gently sand it down a bit as you're touching things up before final clear-coating to help blend it all in. Don't worry about a couple of bad spots on the seperation lines....A little sanding/touch up work will do wonders.
