I post so I can increase my post count... [Drumroll/cymbal crash]....... -

Revell 1968 Hemi Dart - They're Finished
Jeff Sauber replied to Len Carsner's topic in WIP: Model Cars
True, but mentioning certain flaws without an instant fix isn't all that bad either...It gives us a chance to sit and ponder a solution for a day or two..Sometimes I like to hear about certain issues/flaws during the buildup clinics, and then go have some thinking time to research and review a possible solution with the posted images. Not every solution or suggestion will work for every builder. Sometimes there may be another way or a different approaches to correcting things, so re-discussing/posting flaws isn't necessarily a cardinal sin. Re-Posting kit flaws during the buildup process can be a good way to corroborate with other builders and problem solvers at the time of construction. Just my 2 cents, but what do I know... -
Revell 1968 Hemi Dart - They're Finished
Jeff Sauber replied to Len Carsner's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Mark, no need to apologize 1,000 times...I read your comment that was deleted and thought it was fine....I didn't see anything at all that went out of bounds or was belligerant or obnoxious.. Part of building up any kit is also addressing the flaws that may come with the territory..If that was discussed in another thread so be it, but I thought it was helpful after reading it here as well. I mean after all, THIS THREAD is where the model is being constructed, so I don't see the harm in re-discussing some of those issues. If someone here is so offended by your post, that they need a 1000 apologies, maybe they shouldn't be hanging out on the Net in the first place. -
Well said.. The evaluations of what needed improving was fairly accurate, but the way he phrased things was a bit too heavy handed... [Although I don't think it was intentional though.] Things could have been handled a bit better, that's for sure. Hopefully there won't be any lasting ill feelings left with the offended builder.

I don't have the box or kit# handy at the moment, but it's the box with the red 1:1 on it. The body and parts were molded in a grayish tan color...

WOW!!! 25,800 + Views Is It A Record????
Jeff Sauber replied to Romell R's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
A couple more fun facts I noticed about the chevelle thread.. Since it's birthday on May 11th, the thread has recieved roughly a minimum of at least one comment per day, and averaging up to about 5 or 6 replies/bumps per day as it grew along. At times, there have been up to as many as 8-10 comments per day. The thread has also continuously remained on the main page of the workbench section [since its birth] up until today (july 25th), where it eventually slipped down to the second page.. This is also the first time the thread has gone more than 2 days without any comments. The last recorded comment was on July 23rd. So as of now, the total reply count seems to have stalled out at 614. ************************************************************************** End of statistical report...for July 26th 2010 -
For some reason my copy didn't have many sink marks..It had one on the right front fender, and a couple on the trunk which were there as a result of the screw bosses for the chassis pan. They were easily taken care of and smoothed out. Other than that, the body was pretty straight and didn't need alot of fixing and extra attention.

Jeff Sauber replied to Romell R's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Any reply basically "bumps" a thread back up to the top of the page. It Doesn't matter what the reply is/was about, or who it was intended for. Any replies to a thread will automatically return that thread to the top of the main page, hence the term "bump".. A "bump" is basically the same as a reply...[Reply = Bump] Again, I'm not sure I understand the fussiness though. I'm just the statistician. I'm only reporting on the numerical data your thread provided me with. It's a simple, basic, and emotionless report. Just the facts. What does this all have do to with kiddies, playing nice, and participation and such?.. Are we all participating for a grand prize of sorts? Am I missing something? Is there supposed to be a hidden game to this thread?.... -

Huh?... I was only reporting statistics. Who is upset? I'm not sure I follow you here... I think you may be reading into things a bit too deeply. In any case, statistics can be fun as well. I still think you may have set a forum record for most thread bumpage, [although I can't confirm at this time.] Fantasy prize?..... How about a full day's free pass to the nearest "bumper car" amusement park rides? That way we could both enjoy the rides bumpety bumping and recklessly slamming into other drivers.. -

Out of the 614 replies on the Chevelle thread, 245 of them have been from the TS himself, so you have to subtract that from the total count of replies in order to be accurate. Posts/bumps from the TS himself, don't really count]. 614 - 245 = 369............So 369 is the more accurate reply count. We may have a new record however in terms of the most times a member has responded to their own thread... Off the top of my head, I can't think of anyone else who has responded 245 times in the same thread...Does anyone else know if that indeed is a record? -

Yes, but aren't alot of those numbers from the TS himself? You can't really count replies from the thread starter himself. It would be more accurate to count those that wern't made by him... Anybody can respond and bump their own thread countless times...You have to only count the comments/bumps that aren't his in order to have a more accurate total. -
That came out nice! Great job...

Good post Terry, and I share those same sentiments. Unfortunately, with the way things tend to go around here, I generally prefer to just not comment on those sorts of topics since 99.5% of the time it will end in disaster. I may bring up a question or make a suggestion during a work in progress that I've been following along to, but if things turn out poorly, and the finished model still needs some advice or help, I usually just keep it to myself and don't say anything. This has become a hair trigger forum at times, and no matter how delicate constructive criticism is delivered, somebody will almost surely become offended and have a severe meltdown. Another thing I've noticed is that at times when advice has been given forth to help a modeler improve, the advice tends to be ignored and the builder usually just stay within their comfort zones and keep repeating the same mistakes. You can lead the horses to the watering holes, but you can't force them to drink, and with the way everyone tip toes around here on egg shells lately, it's best to just keep quiet, and avoid the fireworks.

Good clean work, very nice!!

Thanks for the comments guys...I still enjoy working on these old kits...I have a marauder kit to try next.. These things sure take alot of foil work though...At least you can have them up on the wheels quick with the simplistic chassis...

I don't think it was much....Maybe like 125.00 [with shipping] or so.. It was while ago.

If I remember correctly, I think I sprayed the carbs with Tamiya gold, then ran a wash over them using a silver and green mix, along with a few PE details..

Great work man!!.....You're doing awesome...The paint details really make this thing pop..Nice clean building, the way it should be. Thanks for the updates. Keep em coming..
