  1. Got the door panels done....Next up, the seats and belts.
  2. The fake woodgrain is a piece of shelf paper/drawer liner...It's a similar tone and shade as my 1:1 had.....Looks just as cheesy too....LOL. My car had the fake wood trim inserts at the wiper/headlight switch and above the glove box, instead of the grab handle option.
  3. Thanks, I'm having alot of fun with this kit. The tooling is decent and it really has the look and feel of the 1:1 car. The chassis and body fit is real tight, so mock ups have to be performed with alot of care. I'll try and get the interior side panels done today and then the seats, if there's time......Jeff
  4. Thanks Dave, actually, the stock interior was the one thing I never really butchered up on my 1:1.. I used the factory tach and speedo...then when I went with the big block swap, I added a few extra gauges, a 6 point pre-fabbed cage [ordered from the old "PAW" catalog], and one those Sun tachs strapped to the steering column. For the model I'm just going with a fairly stock layout except for a drivers side harness and a 4 or 6 point cage.......[depending on if I decide to add in the door bars]...We customized the cage and added those "swing out" door bars on my 1:1, but I never really used them much since I drove the thing on a daily basis....I just left them off unless it was track day.
  5. I was able to get a little bench time in this weekend and detailed the dash...I used some scratchbuilt stuff as well as some PE items from MCG...next up will be the inner door panels...
  6. That '40 wagon looks really cool. I haven't gotten brave enough to try my hand at wood grain detailing..although one of these days I'll give it a shot. I wouldn't attempt to try it for the first time on that wagon...that's way too nice to screw up.....LOL. Be sure to post some updates when you get to working on it.
  7. Welcome to the looney bin....This place has been making me crazy since 2006... Lot's of great builders here though. You'll have a good time........Regards, Jeff
  8. I'm exactly the opposite.....I love drivetrain detailing. I've never really built a curbside....Something about having a hollow engine bay really bugs me....especially in a performance car.....To each their own I guess.
  9. nice work so far!! That really reminds me of the one I did a year ago...These are great kits, I may build another when I get around to it. Keep the updates comming, I'm interested to see how yours comes out.
  10. For this type of car I ain't that big on the color, but all else is excellent....Nice work.
  11. I think Treehugger has been banned......He's no longer part of the members list. It also says "banned" on his profile "group" info.
  12. You do nice clean work....The finished promo looks great.
  13. Wow!! that looks great, Jeff.....Excellent work.
  14. I've stopped by a couple of times, but never really see anyone in there much. Only like one or two folks at a time so far....it may pickup we'll see.
  15. Oh, I sense there's going to be some disturbances in the force alright.....Just be patient, and give it time. The temptation to the dark side here can be too much for a few....Heck, I can even give you a list of the names here who will fall into the trap...LOL. I'll check back later to see who's gotten themselves stuck in the spider's web...
  16. @ H-kitty Not to worry, son.....I assure you my sinister AV or won't affect my modeling abilites...
  17. The chancellor was a very nice man....he just happened to have a bad temper.... I'd be mad too if Samual Jackson disfigured my face like that. How would you like to have to wear a hooded robe in public?
  18. Whoops, silly me, I forgot to ask........Why the big annoucement that You're back? Why didn't you just come back and start posting models quietly like the rest of us? Seems to me......ah never mind. Guess we'll see how long you go with this account before things regress....Best of luck.
  19. What's up hary-h8ter? How's it going? The ban been's lifted I see...How about more model building this time and less thread Arson...
  20. Very cool, nice work, I like the custom hood latch assembly.....Neat little racer you have there.
  21. Nice, clean, work.....I like the paint detailing on the chassis.
  22. nice & clean!! Very cool.
  23. Thanks for the comments guys.... With the engine and chassis mostly completed, I'll be turning my attention to the interior. the majority of it will be built and modified from the kit supplied parts, but I'll have to add in a 6 point cage, and a few other scratchbuilt details. The MCG phtotetched items will really make things pop..
  24. Got a little more done tonight on the radiator/core support assembly...I combined both photoetched items as well as a bit of scratchbuilt parts and ran some of the basic wiring....more to come.
  25. Nicely said, Mark.... Heck some certain folks here seem to have a really difficult time getting anywhere near a work bench these days....They would rather be here, doing......well, You know... By the way, Very cool willys, Gregg.
