I painted the body, wheels, side panels and frame for the '30 Model A with Tamiya TS-23 Light Blue. Looks great! More Model A to come...
-
Thanks Stephen! They tried to bring back Hunter a couple of times since the original series went off the air. My guess is that people have moved on from there.

Thanks Chris, Rodney, Stephen and Tom! The '30 Model A has been washed and is drying. The engine is partially assembled and awaiting primer and paint. I added the decals to the tires and with a little setting solution, they came out perfectly! More Model A to come...

The Story McNally arrives at the Comet Diner, a dining establishment built into an old trolley car that serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all day and he takes a booth up front by the windows. A short while later, Attorney Charlotte Rothmann aka Charlie arrives and she sits across from McNally and asks, "What's good?" Charlie always asks that question when she joins the Boston PI for breakfast. He asks her if she gave out an of his business cards lately and she says yes, to a Shawn Whittaker who was to ask him to investigate a traffic accident. McNally replies that Shawn was murdered the night before. The Build I washed the Charger this afternoon in prep for primer and paint. McNally will return...

It has been almost two weeks since I last worked on this Roadrunner. I decided to give it another bath this time in prep for paint. The Chassis and the interior have been finished and are ready for assembly. More Plymouth to come...

You are welcome, Bob!

That is basically the same kit as the one I am building now. Some changes have been made to that kit from what I am told.
-
The body is two pieces, a top and the lower body. Older kits? Which older kits? You will have to be more specific. I usually build muscle cars and pickup trucks and a model of something this old is new territory for me and I have only a couple of those models on the shelf.

This kit is very popular! I just finished assembling the basic engine in preparation for paint and I drilled holes in the cylindar heads for plug wires. Now, a member of my Model Club wants to have a Club Challenge for our next show in October 2022 with this model kit. Club Challenge usually involves building box stock and I've already drilled mine for plug wires! I may have to get another kit or change the rules for the Club Challenge.

Thanks John! I have been playing around with this kit and I started to assemble the engine and the instructions say to assemble the body and then insert the seat into the upper body top. It doesn't fit! You have to insert the seat before assembling the upper body top!

Saturday mid-afternoon, I decided to take a trip down to Hobby Emporium, my local hobby shop. I looked around and spotted the re-issued Revell '30 Model A sitting on the shelf. I just had to get it and with four kits on the shelf, this kit came home with me. The box art really grabbed me and the light blue '30 Model A was the car I had to build! Once I got home, I opened the kit and was amazed at the beautiful molding of the kit and I had to rummage through the paint can drawers for a can of light blue. Tamiya TS-23 Light Blue is a close match to this box art and the last time I used this paint was on the Revell Ford Bronco a few years ago. I was told that the entire run of Revell '30 Model A kits at Hobby Emporium was sold out by 5:00 PM which makes this a popular kit!

Thank you Carl, James and Larry! Yes, it is! I call it a 1971 since that is the reference that FBI Special Agent Tobias Fornell used during a stop at a gas station. It's actually a 1970 Challenger.

Watching this one, John!

Revell Land Rover Series III LWB
mrmike replied to Keavdog's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Looks great, John! I like how you had weathered the Landy as well! Great job! -
Thank you Bob! The actual car was IMHO, two different cars. One had the scripts on the hood and a different shade of yellow compared to the car used in the episode, "Jack-Knife" which had no hood scripts and slightly narrower tires.
-
This is the kit that I used, plus I "stole" the hood from a previously built Challenger. Thank you David, Bill, Greg and Mario.

This is my NCIS 1971 Dodge Challenger Hemi R/T painted with Tamiya TS-16 Yellow with a Tamiya TS-29 Semi Gloss Black interior, Hemi and pistol-grip shifter from the Revell '70 Hemi 'Cuda, hood stripe from Keith Marks and rear wing spoiler from my parts box.

Land Rover Series III LWB

Thank you Greg! It wasn't the spot I was looking for, but the tire itself as I had misplaced it. -

Thank you Mario, Dominick and Matt! I am so happy that I found that fifth tire. I have nothing in my spares that comes even remotely close to this and I searched everywhere for it! For me, the spare tire for a Land Rover belongs on the hood and no where else. . -

Thanks Bob! I started thinking, did I accidentally throw the tire away? Did I accidentally put it into another model kit? Did I put it away by mistake? Well, I put it away in a parts drawer that I usually don't go into much and there it was! Such a sigh of relief! -

mrmike replied to mrmike's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Well, I knew I had misplaced the fifth tire and I found it. Apprently, I put it away in one of my parts drawers. I added the extra wheel and glued them to the hood of my Land Rover Series III LWB. The hood is not made for this application, but the spare tire looks good up there just like the rest of the pictures I have seen. I added a piece of guitar wire for the antenna. -
Revell Jaguar ordered from Upscale Hobbies
mrmike replied to BDSchindler's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I just checked his website and he has the Jaguar XK-E Coupe in stock, but he doesn't have a lot of anything in stock. He is out-of-stock on the majority of items. I would cancel your order with him and go somewhere else where the item is in stock and order from them. -
Looks good Bob! I built one a few years ago and I found out the this kit had the mis-shapened cowl which I never knew about and Lindberg had recalled the kit. Someone tried to tell me about it and he couldn't tell me straight out that the cowl was badly mis-shaped. I built the model and no one has said anything to me about it since!
