I received this kit for Christmas from my brother-in-law. The wheels in this kit are great, and I can see buying another kit just for those. As you probably know, the kit is a model of a kit car - the Daytona on Miami Vice was based on a Corvette and not an actual Ferrari. The Monogram kit reflects this fact. There are also shots of the clear-nosed Daytona and solid-nosed Daytona from the show. Out of the box, the kit builds the solid-nosed version. I guess that's the right term. Anywho .... The hood does sit correctly; I just bumped it prior to taking the picture. A little polish left in the door line. Oops. The kit comes with the correct ZAQ-178 license plate; but I messed it up. So, I reverted to the "spare". I may fix that eventually. The tail lights look funky, too. That actually bugs me and may be corrected before going into the case. Thanks for looking.

Nice. This kit was not on my to-do list, but the more I see the build ups on this site, the more I'm thinking I need to buy it!

1/25 AMT '65 Lincoln Continental Customizing Kit

While not a 1965, still kind of interesting. I ran across this while looking for information about the rereleased kit: https://bangshift.com/general-news/ebay-find-2/ebay-find-this-one-of-none-1962-lincoln-continental-station-wagon-need-a-home/ -
That is impressive work I think the seatbelts would normally attach to the rollbar, but maybe I'm wrong? Still, really impressive!

Well, I may be nearing the completion of this build. Still need to attach the mirrors and (hopefully), paint the black "rubber" trim on the bumperettes, and do a final bit of polishing. I'm a little mixed on my thoughts about the wing windows (whatever they would be called). I considered mounting them as if they would be opened a bit. I was thinking of painting the top to match the interior, but settled on black. It's a kit of a kit-car, so I figure anything goes. That said, I have a lot of respect for guys like Jay who actually build the kit to look like a specific McBurnie car from the show. Hat tip.

Wow, that is incredible! Really excellent work.

That looks great! Sure wish I had picked up one of those when it was actually available ....

Thanks! I'm getting close to finishing. I did have to cut the front bumper into three pieces in order to make it fit. Otherwise, it's been fairly smooth sailing. Keeping in mind that it's an older kit, it's been fun to build. Hopefully, I'll get some more pictures up soon!

You've got a lot of cool stuff going on there!

Saw this on Tom's board. Really nicely done! Where did you get the resin body/kit? Details, please!

My Brother-in-Law gave me this kit for Christmas. So far, it's coming along nicely. The wheels in this kit, I think, are pretty nice. As most of you know, it's a model of the TV car, which was in itself a clone of the Daytona running on (I think) a Corvette C3 chassis. The kit reflects that with it's Chevy engine and chassis. Still, a fun kit. Needs polishing, small details, etc. I think I'm going to go with the top down. Anywho, thanks for looking!

That is nice. Can you share some details about how you did the tailgate lettering? -
The luggage rack really sets the car off! Nice work!

I've had this kit in my collection for ages. After my daughter mentioned that it looked like a cool car, I figured I should build it. I'm on the second paint job. And I've combined decals from three sheets - all Monogram kit decals; but like me, they are a bit old. So, after clear coating the decals with Testors Decal Fixative, I've gotten this far. I need to clean up the decal solvent residue once I finish and I'll be clearcoating this joker. More to go ....
