  1. I like that idea! But, I'm already heading this path ... perhaps to disaster, I dunno. Baby steps. The car does (mostly) sit over the chassis at this point. I'm fashioning the jets(?) from some tube styrene and wheels from a junkyard Mini Cooper. I'm leaning with tinting whatever glass remains in yellow, as a nod to Classic Lego Space; which had a great impact on me as a youngster.
  2. Yeah, super cool! Both of these look nice. I had the Scale Exotics resin conversion once, but sold it. It was well done...should you ever run across one.
  3. This is excellent! Well done!
  4. Beautiful work. Where do you get the Corian? Scrapes from Lowe's / Home Depot?
  5. Yeah. $70. I might could find a real S-10 ...
  6. Alan, Rob - Thanks for the input. I love the idea of the AlterNomad as a contender! But....given that I'm wading into uncharted territory (for me, anyway), and that the wagon is huge!, I'm going to attempt to use the mangled Porsche. I've started fiddling with the interior. I'm leaning with this bomber-style seat, and I've moved the driver (pilot?) to the right hand side. The seat and dash are not attached at this point. This could end up in the circular bin eventually, but for now, it's fun.
  7. So it appears there has been an update to the S10 extended cab package. Has anyone purchased any of Mr. redlinerestorations2015-8 's new stuff? I hesitate to drop this kind of cash and will probably return to either 1) just hacking two cabs together or 2) working with what I originally purchased (all previous comments noted...) https://www.ebay.com/itm/s10extended-cab-resin-kit-please-read-1-25scale/273676801738?hash=item3fb86896ca:g:SLAAAOSwlINbr~zF On second thought, maybe I should leave well enough alone and just revisit my original attempt and forego the resin alternative ....
  8. This has been fun (and educational!) to watch! Keep up the good work.
  9. Epic.
  10. Ok, I'm in. I think. Feeling a little wishy-washy about it all, since I've not done one of these before. I started digging through the stash of broken, abandoned, and otherwise pitiful kits. I'm thinking one of these former disasters may lend itself to the project. Currently, I'm leaning with either the Mustang or the Porsche; Then again, perhaps the Alternomad might be a good candidate. Stay tuned, I hope ... Ford Candidate - Probably not ... The Mustang seems like a worthy candidate, and given it's proportion issues (old Revell kit), maybe I should start here. But then again, the old Porsche could be a good starting point - albeit the broken A pillars may be an issue. Or maybe not. I bought this behemoth for parts, but it looks kind of "spacey". The Alternomad. And this glue-bomb of an Aerovette. I'm currently leaning away from this one. So, this has, so far, been an exercise in indecision.
  11. These are so cool. I may have to join in, but I don't think my talent matches the rest of you guys for what I've seen so far. Super creative stuff!
  12. This should be the box top model - beautiful work!
  13. This is a beautiful build!
  14. Looking forward to this.
  15. Question on the rules - are right-hand drive vehicles allowed? Or does the vehicle have to be USA-spec/ North American-spec only? Say I imported a minivan from Japan ....?

Oh, very nice indeed. Excellent work!
  17. Man, oh Man - this is awesome work! I love the whole idea and have been watching your built. Very inspiring and creative!
  18. And you corrected the tread direction! Excellent!
  19. I've never entered a community build before, not have I built a van. So, is this official - Vans / minivans are the them for the 2019 Cannonball Run? Sounds fun ..
  20. I love it I think a companion would be cool w/ the double-bubble from the Futura or the '58 T-Bird, although both are probably too big for the Cobra body.
  21. Wow, thank you for sharing so far. This is very inspiring and beautiful work!
  22. I hereby tender my resignation to the modeling community. That is incredible work. Such attention to detail. And that natural metal finish ...
