1-8 scale 69 camaro pro mod (mike hill's car)
W-409 replied to comp1839's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Very Nice Brakes you have there! This is art, I can't believe that it's a Model, even if it's Larger Scale. Can't wait to see more. -
Great Looking Build, as always! I've said this before, but I say it again. It's nice to see a builder who is building only Old School HotRods. These are cool without any modern parts, just like this one. You nailed the Show Car Look. This just makes me wanting to get back on my ShowRod build...

HOG VETTE! DW Style T/F Corvette Dragster, a 2 Week Project!
W-409 replied to Ira's topic in Model Cars
Great build, as always! These DW Style Builds just make me feel happy, these are funny and different. I'd like to try my hand at one. I can't believe that you built this in 2,5 weeks. I could not get the bodywork done on that time ! -
Oh, didn't notice the Stock Eliminator markings. Don't know, what your goal was with this build, but it doesn't look like Stocker. I mean that exhaust pipes are unnecessary stuff, and I guess that it has exhaust manifolds either than headers? Other that that, it looks like cool Stocker from the 60's or 70's. Nice build anyway.

Very cool Fairlane! Paint job truly pops in my eye, and I like the engine detailing too. Wheel and tire choice looks good too. Nice to see one beautiful Fairlane without too big wheels and ugly flat tires.

Oh yes, we have lots of cars here. (Well nothing compared to the USA of course, but usually on the Finnish Championchip Events there are about 200 cars and motorbikes). We have pretty much different car categories too, and soon it's the time of European Championchip DragRace event here in Finland... Hope to see lots of ProMods and Top Fuels threre. And oh yes, currently we have about 7 TF Teams here in Finland.

If you can't find them here, I would look from eBay. Right now I can't see any correct decals, but that's just me...

This is cool! Finally there has been built a Model from Modeler. -
Mike, those are great! Here are few more.

I would say that keep it as it is right now. Drag Racing Models section is the best section of this forum and it's easiest to find reference, or ask reference for Drag Racing Cars. Same thing with NASCAR, if there's only one General place where to ask reference, those topics can be easy to miss, since there are very much of them. I really like the way it is right now, but just point out, that Drag Racing Models need to be posted into Drag Racing Models section, and NASCAR models into NASCARS section. And those threads can be moved from Under Glass to right sections, if someone still doesn't understand and posts those still in Under Glass? Or is moving topics tricky? I don't know which one I should vote, but this is my opinion. If It Aint Broke, Don't Fix It. EDIT: But if you're gonna do those changes, how about Large Scale Models in the Big Boys section, or Diecast Models? They have still own sections, just like Drag Cars and NASCARS. I think it's more simple when there are seperate Drag Racing and NASCAR sections.

Some Finnish Drag Cars what run in Outlaw car category...

I've found three other pictures of that (ugly) car, but nowhere reads, what car is it.... Needs to continue searching in the afternoon.

Very cool Falcon! It doesn't look like "Modified" Diecast. It's so clean that it looks like unmodified. Nice job all over it.

69 Nova outlaw prostreet Finished (09/02/12)
W-409 replied to tyrone's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
This looks very good so far! Paint is smooth and shiny, color looks very good too. I like those stripes, you did awesome job with them. Vinyl top is just perfect choice for this kind of car. -
Thanks for the comments, guys! And thanks for the pics too, they are really useful since I lost all of my reference material when my old computer died. Every reference picture from this and other builds too, are lost. I decided to spray some clear for the body today. After that I can see how it looks and if it's great, I'll add decals but if not, then I don't. The result isn't perfect after paint, so let's see what one clear coat can do.

This is not "Amazing" or "Awesome" anymore... This have to be perfect! I really like the detail, you've done for this build and paintjob is spectacular. I really liked the WIP topic.

Awesome scratchbuilding, Clay! I really enjoy watching this build. Those doors look very good and so does that front body tree too. Can't wait to see the next update.

After some minor body work and sprayed new coat of primer for the body. Today I managed to paint it red. It's not excellent, but I guess it'll look good when decaled, cleared and polished.
