Great looking Funny Car. Are these kits rare or something, because I haven't seen much of these built. Or maybe they are just "boring" or something... I have one too, actually only body and frame. Needs to build it. This is very nice, and paintjob is great. Thanks for sharing.

This is über cool! I like that paintjob. And idea is great-I haven't seen much this kind of Altereds. Thanks for sharing it, engine looks like nicely detailed one.

This is cool! Paintjob is amazing, and decals seems to fit very nicely. Detailing looks incredible, and looks like you've built very nice ChiTownHustler all in all. I have one too, but it has been on break for a while. Maybe needs to take it back on the bench.

That's cool... Jegs Race Cars are always very nice, I like the paint schemes. You did very good job with this Opel, and I haven't seen much of these built. Especially as Slot Cars.

How do you organize your spare parts?
W-409 replied to steve7119's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have my spare parts in that kind of boxes, as Dan. But then I have some parts boxes, where are lots of parts, and I've been trying to put engines and interior parts etc. on same place, and store them on Minigrips. That's pretty good way-but it easily gets bit messy. -
What do you store your equipment in?
W-409 replied to '08SEAL's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have tool box where are my all equipment. I'd like to have them on my modeling table, but it's not possible, since my table is in front of the window. But maybe I need to make it better some day. At least some inportant tools would be great to have always on bench, not in tool box. I have so many paints, though, that they wont fit anywhere else than in tool box. Otherwise I'm happy about my bench. -
Ok, after some thinking and looking of my unbuilt kits, I decided to go with '57 Chrysler 300C. Hilborn Fuel Injection system and Hemi engine. Not sure about the tire and wheel choice, but I might go with steelies.
-
Well this should be interesting. Prizes sound interesting too-even if I can't win them. But anyway, I might jump in, needs to look about my unbuilt kits, and think about it.

That chassis looks good to me. I'm sure, this Firebird will be great build, when finished. Even if that body style is not the best looking FC. As my Burnout Bird, body looks bit "boring", Vega and Camaro, for example are looking much better, I think. Of course this one is not ugly anyway.

Thanks, Brett, Sean, Joe and Chris! Sean and Joe: Actually I had no problems with the headers, engine fits really nicely, I think. That steering link is that way, because otherwise it didn't fit at all. And what Joe said, is true. Steering linkage and headers didn't fit together, but otherwise I found no clearence issues. New steering linkage would be good idea, but when frame is built few years ago, I had no skills that time to try building new one. Today, I would build new one, but now it's already bit late. And that wheel thing-yes. I'm sure, I could do it better today, thanks for advice! Thanks again guys!

Thanks guys! Patrik: When thinking about those unfinished builds, I should have pretty much them to be finished on 2012. Hopefully they turn out good too... Bruce: Cold winter nights give lots of modeling time, that's true! Bad thing is, that taking outside pictures is not so fun. Because fingers are really frozen after picture session... Thanks again, every comment was really appreciated.

Those are really nice builds. It's very tricky to say, what's the best one, but I maybe like that Ford from Deuce Of Spades. Keep it up on ne... This year too, thanks for sharing all of these Old School styled builds.

I've built one Stratos from Revell kit. I was installing the body just like instructions say... First time I failed, since half of the parts on chassis got apart. And then, second try I managed to make it, but it wasn't easy. Anyway-the kit is great, and really fun to build. Keep up the good work, I'll be following, how this turns out. And here's a link to my build (sorry, it's in Finnish, but pictures can be seen. And if you want some details, let me know. ) http://rallimallarit.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=36

Nice builds, all of them! Detailing looks sharp to my eye, and clean buids overall. Thanks for sharing them, and welcome to the forum! Glad to see more talented Drag Builders here.

Thanks! I've been building this to match Finnish rules, but actually they are same ones than NHRA rules are. And as Walter said, rear seat can be removed if you have roll bar in the car. Otherwise, full interior is required. It has been a while since I've been looking for the rule book, but I think, I remember something.

Turned out very nice. Body looks great, top is just low enough. Color is great, and paintjob is shiny. Great Old School HotRod, nice detailing on the engine bay and interior looks good too. Thanks for sharing this beauty.

This is very cool. I like the Old School look on it, and must say, that this might be the best model, I've seen from your bench. It's so nice. That engine detailing looks very good, but especially I like that overall look, and paintjob. Wheel and tire combo is great too.

When Did This Happen?
W-409 replied to Joe Handley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well, I thought, it is Lamborghini Murano, but it was Nissan... Well, it looks typical new car, like egg with wheels. -
11. Porsche 935 Martini 12. Pontiac Firebird FC "Burnout Bird" (This is in DragRacing Models section, see that for details) Here they are, thanks for looking, comments are welcome, and if you want to see more pictures about them, just let me know and I'll post some more pics.

It was pretty good year-12 completed models, and I think, building quality is much better than last year, that's something, I'm very happy too. Lots of impovable things of course, but I'm getting better. 1. Renault Alpine A110 Monte Carlo Rally 1971 2. '60 Impala Mild Custom 3. Lancia Stratos 1977 Monte Carlo Rally 4. Shelby Cobra 427 5. '70 Dodge Super Bee

Sounds like great plan! I've been thinking about that last day to join in. This is so small CBP, and don't get so much replies, that maybe I would remove that Last day to join in. Then it can be added later again.

Your Hot Rod looks... Amazing! That detailing on the engine is incredible, and overall look is very sharp too. Wheel and tire choice is just perfect. Nice build all in all, thanks for sharing it.

This is my last one for 2011. It was bought on November 2009 with 5 euros. Not too big price, only wheels, tires and engine were missing. Idea was to build something, which would have raced here in Finland on 80's, or early 90's in Pro Comp Category. This project had many problems and I'll tell this whole story, as it really was: So first I took one Hemi, wheels and tires from my parts box. Then I had almost everything for the build. I removed original bell housing from that Hemi and fitted the one from kit on its place. And engine was fitting correctly on engine mounts on frame. That time I removed molded on type fuel line from the gas tank. Oh, It was time to shoot some primer... I primered spoiler and body from inside. Both attempts ended up as mess: Primered parts were looking as smooth as asphalt with all of the cracks etc. So it was time to remove paint, which was pretty hard and took very long time. Finally I had body without paint on my hands... Here was a break, after that I started building the engine. Valve covers changed to Parts Box resin ones and I fitted old Blower with injectors on place. Headers were from the kit. Then I continued building the frame. All axle systems, gas tank, oil filters etc. were installed, and after them I got it on four wheels. That was anything but easy, because new tires had some problems to fit inside the body, especially in the front. But I got them fit, and continued the build with detailing the engine. I installed ignition wires, and some other plumbing and wiring was done also. This point I decided the color of that body, but later it changed three times... Finally an other attempt to primer that body, and finally I made it. Then I started assembling those panels on the frame, and then I glued all of the parts to drivers area. With steering axle I had some problems. I had to cut lots of plastic from that part, what comes inside the body. But luckily after that, everything was fitting nicely. Then I installed brake lines. OK, painting the body next. I tried to paint it from inside, and that ended up as mess. Too much paint, but I managed to fix it looking pretty good. But then painting outside the body was inpossible. First I had too thick paint, and then I made it thinner, and after one coat, I realized, that needs to paint bit heavier coat. And because of very thin paint and heavy coat, you know what happends. Removing the paint again, and then new primer. Spoiler painting went wrong too. Here I had almost one year break, but after that I painted new primer, and picked up new paint. Spoiler painting went wrong again, and removing the paint was ahead. Finally I managed to paint body succesfully, so I installed decals. Here was new problem. I had to print PC 526 decals myself, but printer was changed and it didn't print white color anymore. So I gave decals to one finnish modeler to print, and finally I managed to install them, when I got decals back. But they were good quality. After having problems with painting that part, which is inside the body, I finally managed to get everything painted succesfully. Then I assembled everything together, and finally. After two years of working, here it is. AirFix Burnout Bird! Two more:

Very nice work with it. Engine plug wiring looks very clean, and interior is great too. Nothing to complaine about, subject is very interesting too. I was just wondering, that needs to build something like this. (First must build some older ones and finish them though...)
