  1. I can wait to see this one! Another terrific build coming from your bench, John. That 1:1 bike looks very wild, I wish I could see someone really driving it. It can't be that easy anyway. And thanks for posting a link to this thread in your other WIP thread. Otherwise I might have seen this one the first time in Under Glass.
  2. Thanks Guys! First, I have to congratulate Mark. You did a great job with your Impala. I think if it was photographed in a "natural environment" it would be tough to tell if it's a real car or a model... Then the scoop. I was a bit afraid that no one would know how the scoop actually was attached. I've been thinking it a lot and I thought I would do so that I'll install the Carters regularly under the hood, then I'll drill two round holes on the hood over the carburetors and then make the scoop with also those two holes in the bottom plate. That would make air go to the carbs I guess. Of course if anyone has a better idea, I'd really appreciate hearing it, but for now I think this might be my best way. I'm sorry there's not much done. I've been very busy with the high school stuff and also we're building our Stock Eliminator Chevelle to be ready for the season opening that's coming in a bit over a week. Anyway I stripped paint from the intake. All paint didn't come off, so I have to continue removing it manually when I have time for that. The carburetors are resin pieces but I have no idea who made them.
  3. I'm a huge fan of Music, too. My favorite band is The Go Getters from Sweden. Here are a couple of covers: Everyone knows Rocky Burnette's Hip Shakin' Baby? Here's Go Getters' version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnQa0ybtCTY And Ramones' Blitzkrieg Bop? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=917hy3jclkA
  4. That's definitely a good looking Figure (And I actually meant the casting ). Too bad the price is that high, probably that will make me skip this one. If they're in Russia, that's not a problem as Finland is right next to it. Though buying that one would save a lot of time preparing the worse figures for paint...
  5. You're the "Wagon Master". Not only you build fantastic Longroofs, actually many of them are a result of a hard conversion rather than a ready resin body. Really nice work here with all of the scratchbuilding and it paid off. This looks like real car. Excellent job.
  6. Good looking Plymouth FC! Building Box Stock can be a challenge (I believe I'd have trouble building Box Stock, too), but you did a great job with it. Nice paint job and good work with the decals, they fit nicely on the body shapes. How did you paint the grille? The silver "ribs" look so clean and even. Did you paint it first with silver and then by adding black wash, or....? I've built the same kit years ago and I remember it had no major fit issues. The frame was a bit tricky to assemble, but maybe it was because I was not very experienced back then. This makes me want to buy another one and build it better than I did before.
  7. You build fantastic models! I have to admit that I'm really not a BMW fan, but this car looks pretty good - and your model makes it a justice. Nicely painted and detailed all over. The top isn't that bad, I think it's actually very good and much better than I could do. This is yet another car that looks better with the top on, IMO. Great work all over!
  8. Very nice work! I'm with Rob, I've never been a huge fan of those bubble tops, but here it looks excellent. All body mods are nicely done and paint job looks flawless, too. It describes well how high quality Customs there are on Swedish Model Car Shows if this was left as third (Even if that's not bad either). Very nice work.
  9. Very nicely done Super Bee. I like the paint job. Also that green fits well with flat black hood and that huge Cowl Induction Scoop. Great detailing on the engine, too. Only thing that really bothers me is that the wheels and tires look horrible, as I think the wheels are way too big and tires should have more profile. Well, other than that, I really like it!
  10. I can't wait to see them all. This might not be a big surprise for anyone who knows me, but both, the Pontiac and the Comet will be built as Drag Cars when they're out. The Pontiac will make a very cool Super Stock car, but I'm still not quite sure about the Comet if I should make it a Super Stocker or FX car. The link that Dave posted is a very good one. I've been going through the same thread and there is lots of great inspiration there. When thinking that previous Moebius Models' kits have been top notch quality, maybe the best I've ever built, I can't wait to have these on my stashes. Another thing I like is that Dave Mezner is really posting on these forums and letting us know the plans when the kits should be in the stores and that kind of stuff. Not many companies do that, and in my opinion, they should. Keep the kits coming.
  11. It looks very good! Nice to see more Super Stockers being built. Yours is done very nicely so I'd like to see more pics if you are planning on taking more of them. You said it's box stock except the decals... Did the rear tires also come with the kit? And what kit is that, I need to get a couple of them!
  12. Of course Google is the first. It finds basically everything, and it's much faster than if I started to scan through books. Another good sources are for sale ads, as especially many highly restored cars have tons of pics of all details there. For old Race Cars, mostly Stock or Super Stock cars I like to use books, as they have lots of great information too.
  13. No problem, John. I was just worried if I had missed the pictures, as that's something I really don't want to do.
  14. By The Way did you post the finished pics already somewhere? I'm just wondering as I don't want to miss that post.
  15. Looks like you know how to build these Late '50s or Early '60s cars. On these cars the foiling is one of the most critical things to do and all of your BMF works are fantastic. Nice paint job and very clean build overall. It is also nice to see these unique subjects being built.
  16. I really dig that paint job, too! In scale Flakes or out of scale Flakes, doesn't matter as it looks very good like that. I like the opened rear fenders as well, they give it a more aggressive look than if the tires were installed inside regular fender openings. Color combo works well too. Great job.
  17. Another truly amazing build in the works here! Every time I see a new update, my jaw finds its' way on the floor, even though I know it's gonna be an awesome update. Great work with the chassis and engine, they both look very good. But the alternator bracket caught my eyes, too. I could swear it is a Photo Etch part if I didn't know that you made it yourself. Rock on, John!
  18. This turned out very nice. Your 1:1 car looks very good, just my style as I like body color Steelies with Dog Dishes a lot and those Drag Radials on the back finish it off very nicely. Your model is really nicely done, too. Great paint and great detailing all over, it's nice to see people paying that much attention on the chassis, too as I know some people don't. Overall this is an excellent replica, good job!
  19. I try to read everything, but that doesn't always happen. Actually I seem to ignore the Trades and Wanted sections pretty often, but that's probably because I live here in Finland and trading gets way more complicated if I step in the game as we need to send stuff across the Ocean. I follow Drag Racing Models, NASCARS and Car Kit Reviews-sections almost daily on here. They are my favorite categories, especially the Drag Racing Models. What I don't follow that much is All The Rest, Diecast Models and Trucks-sections. Well, on those I visit in Trucks the most, but especially All The Rest and Diecasts are something I click on very rarely. However, this doesn't mean I wouldn't read the threads, because actually I do. Not just that often. All other categories are being followed a couple of times in a week, depending on the amount of spare time I have. But especially On The Workbench and Under Glass categories are something I try to read through a couple of times in a week, others can be like once a week, too.
  20. Thanks for the information and comments! Bill: I wonder about the hood scoop. According to Jonh's information, the car has two Carter AFB's, I wonder where the scoop is mounted in... I see no hole on the hood where the scoop would be sticking through, to me the dark grey area in this picture looks more like a shadow of the scoop than a real hole on the hood. Would the 2 Carter AFB's be so high setup that with the scoop it would stick out of the hood like that? John: Great information! I think I'll install those two Carters under the hood, then. I'm really surprised about the amount of information this forum has. It is very good to have knowledge how these things really were, Thanx Guys!!! That hood scoop issue is my biggest concern now... I hope someone would have some information on that one, too...
  21. Thanks Carl! I got a great suggestion on Finnish Forum to change the Blower to more suitable one. And as I had one of these in my parts box, I thought "Why Not". It actually looks much better than the old one, which was a bit too much like the Blowers on all race cars.
  22. Not much done here, I've been building the interior for my 1:1 car and playing guitar... Luckily the interior is pretty much done, so I'll probably have more time to spend with this one. I got the engine back from paint stripping. After some sanding I was able to get the halves glued together. The seam needed only minor cleanup, so I painted the engine block and a couple of other engine parts with Model Master's Chevy Engine Orange. It dried a bit flat, so I clear coated the parts with thinned Revell's clear. Valve covers are painted with Humbrol Metallic #56 as well as the transmission.
  23. Thanks John! I appreciate the kind words.
  24. Thanks for the kind words guys, and sorry for my late reply. I took this picture a week ago, I thought it's pretty neat. It shows all '62 Super Stock cars in our Family. I've built the two on the right hand side and my dad has built the two on the left hand side.
  25. Very sharp looking Dodge! The paint is super nice, but to me the best thing is that BMF. It looks absolutely flawless and in a body like this I know it's not easy to do. Does this have the same 'problem' as for example Jo-Han's '60 Plymouth Fury has that the chrome trims are a bit light and they can get easily covered under paint? If this has, then I appreciate your foiling even more!
