  1. I'm glad to see you didn't leave the window trim body color like so many do. It exudes muscle! What did you do to the grill?
  2. Donn, I both agree with some of your statements here while at the same time I disagree with others. Yes, John Teresi is from another galaxy. He is a prolific builder. And at first glance his work is mind boggling. However, upon further review, his work brings him back to the level of "mortal", to use your terminology. His work just about "gets there" and then he stops. Why? I don't know. And, yes, John's work is consistent in this regard. I agree with you that the Bentley is merely a replica stock build but it is no where close to the finest I've ever seen. I don't want to belittle John's work, but, I don't feel the readers here should be mis-informed. Just my opinion. Are they crazy? I'm not to judge. I feel it is inaccurate to place John's and Mark Jones' work on the same plain. Their work just isn't on the same level. Digital photography hides NOTHING. It is the "Great Unequalizer". Mark's work stands up to digital scrutiny; John's doesn't. His fit and finish just doesn't compare. Up until now I've left likes and dislikes out of it. I like some of John's subjects he has chosen (same for Mark's). I like how he has inserted his personality into his builds. I don't like where he considers his builds finished.
  3. Art could have seen a clone. I don't know. I totaled it. I remember nothing. My freinds tell me it was memorable. They still remind me of it over a few adult beverages. Every time it's news to me!
  4. Matt, just a word of caution: the models I've autographed for friends have only shrunk in value LOL!
  5. Build away, Matt! BTW why not get the decal artist's autograph as well.
  6. Unfortunately, I wrecked it before we thought to take any pictures.
  7. Matt, send it to me and I'll autograph it!
  8. I like the colorful ones; same with movies -talkies, too.
  9. Don't get discouraged looking at these builds. Remember they are just small parts piled on top of each other. http://www.miniwerks...890&whichpage=1 http://www.automotiv...ad.php?t=941279

  13. Great job, Marcos! The RoG kits can be a real challenge. Sticking with it brought great results. One of the few kits I may never finish is the RoG Benetton Ford. But, now that you've inspired me...............
  14. Thanx, Mike. I found them here: http://www.scalemodelingbychris.com/smbc_detailingp1.htm Has anyone used these? The pictures on the website leave a lot to the imagination.
  15. Just like it says. I'm finishing my latest build and I just can't face fabricating my own.
  16. Mark, I like that car! I would do it! Is it only available from Fisher? The darker blue makes the car pop - makes all the difference.
  17. Not quite yet, Richard. While you are in the posting mode there is a preview button at the bottom of the page. Click that and you will see what we will see. You mentioned Photobucket. To select a picture in Photobucket hover the cursor over the photo. Four lines will appear. Move the cursor over the "img" and click on it. You should see a "copied" pop up. Then just paste that into the MCM page. Good luck!
  18. if today was yesterday, then yes it is my birthday. Thanks for being able to remember.
  19. Harry, what did Jimmy do? Inquiring minds and all that.....
  20. Is it OK to install a Pacer's spoiler backwards?
  21. Edited by mr cheap, Today, 09:11 AM. And this is your result after you edited it? HUH? You can do better and make your reply understandable.
  22. William, the zero hand wheels are a good choice. To turn the sleeves or rims: In addition to what is included in the 4530 package you will need a tailstock Jacobs drill chuck and chuck key to hold drill bits. Centering drill bits, part no. 3021, are necessary for starting holes. Regular drill bits will enlarge the hole to the approximate inside diameter. A boring tool, part no. 11970, will finish the inside. Once the outside is turned to the final dimension and the inside is finished the rim is separated from the stock with a cut- off tool held in a special tool post, part no. 3002. All the above will only get you sleeves. To machine wheel centers will require a mill attachment or stand alone mill with a rotary table. Sorry, but mills are still out of my league. At least until I win the lottery. The 4530 comes with hexagonal keys. Use them sparingly. They exert too much torque. Instead, get a t-handle or screw driver handle hex key for the size used on the tool posts and tailstock. In addition to the one sharpened high-speed steel cutting tool included in the 4530 package, get a set of 5 blanks and learn to grind your own. Here’s how to do it: http://www.sherline.com/grinding.htm. Joe Martin’s book, Tabletop Machining is invaluable. Get it now. Keep it under your pillow. Cutting oil. And last: Safety glasses. Wear them.
  23. Thanks! The seats were done with Modeler's carbon kevlar decals. The door panels will also have the CK decals. The wash is thinned Tamiya Smoke, X-19.
  24. Seats are pretty much done. I see I need to do some touch up. Suspension and exhaust components are ready to install.
  25. Thanx! I'm glad you like my nuts!
