This actually showed up about a week ago. I had one back in the 8th grade (1979) and thought it was the coolest kit ever as it came with spark plug wires. I had been on the hunt for one several years now and a forum buddy brought this one to my attention. Bid to win !!

What non-auto model did you get today?
Old Buckaroo replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Bill those LaBelle kits are great to build. Takes a bit of skill - not just shake the box. I looked at this kit for over a month before I pulled the trigger! -

Ordered a oil pickup tube from "440 Source" Carson City NV". Paid $19.62 shipping to Montana for it to show up "Parcel Select" and in a gray plastic bag. Part was not boxed, just a piece of paper around it. Not exactly what I expected for a engine part. That will be my last order with them.

More of a weekend goof off that has filtered over - Decided to look in all the AMT Challenger boxes up on the shelf. Here is the lineup L-R AMT 70 Challenger with a 440 six pack ,resin 70 SE body (small back window) fitted to AMT chassis with a Yankee Challenger hood hole that the hood has been filled, AMT 70 Challenger with a 72-74 resin conversion & hood from Harts Parts, AMT 70 Challenger with a 66 Nova pro street chassis fitted and Compresins hood. It was a Mopar weekend.

Mold factory mistake. Ugh!!!
Old Buckaroo replied to Sledsel's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The earlier kits such as the Baldwin Camaro have excellent bodies as well as the molded in gray 70.5's . Its the recycled highway cone orange chi'na plastic kits that are the worse. But when you can buy them from Hobby Lobby on sale for $13.00 they are worth the inconvenience to fix , especially if your building older quarter mile cars. -

Yes, these body's have some defects - wait till you look at the passenger fender rear. Easy fix though by gluing in some styrene and reshaping it. As we use to say in the body shops "You cant look at both sides at the same time" ! -
Show Us Your Work Bench
Old Buckaroo replied to Bruce Poage's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have the same type of bench as Dave, but no where near as tidy. Two of my modeling friends says my work area gives them anxiety. -
You got the highest praise you can ever get on this project this morning - my wife walked by and saw it, stopped and said that is one of the "coolest projects ever"! I like it also as it just has the right look for what you're going after.

Grooms Bros. 1965 Plymouth Sedan awb Black Trash II
Old Buckaroo replied to R. Thorne's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
I really like this project. The foiling looks great on the new paint. Ive got the same body stashed away - but haven't decided who to build it after. -
This looks fast just sitting on the bench. Way cool project!
