Sam , I use photobucket and I had to start using the IMG code at the bottom of the list. The old forum worked on Direct. I just click on the IMG link , it highlights in blue, Then left click for paste option on your thread Once you submit it "should" give you your picture.

Jacobus , you build some of the coolest old trucks. This one looks great , I like it just the way it is. What is the correct wheelbase for this truck ? As you mentioned information is very hard to find. "Thumbs up all the way " !

I have two of these 7400 cabs I acquired in a trade.One of these days I might get to one of them.

I like the looks of this truck. Pit fenders will really make it look great . I built a set for a pit fenders for a truck I am working on - if I could do it , anyone can !

Thanks guys, In all honesty this truck has been sealed in a box since my move to Montana. All that was lacking was spraying the red on the cab and decals , and finial bits. I guess I should bring it back to the bench - I never expected this to be dredged up out of the depths and back on the main page.

Terry - those hinges are fantastic. Having the hood hinged like that will make this truck stand out from the crowd even more ! If I may add a suggestion perhaps some clear acetate or similar material would make a better windshield. I wish I had done so on my Reo , as the AMT glass is so thick.

Well the only thing I have to show at the moment - I rebuilt "Bears" seat after seeing some better pics of the real one.

Sam , this is one fantastic project. I had not looked at it for some time and started from page one. What a motivator to get back to the bench !

That looks like a lot of fun future projects. Great idea for keeping them organized. I just ordered a bunch of cardboard trays to house my junkers and spare parts. They have been sealed up in small boxes. Hopefully if I can see them I will get around to them

Angelo , Coffee Brown is a hard to find color for modeling. Several years back I seen a real truck that was painted that color and it resembled a "dark root beer" color to my eyes. Everyone of the "Snowman" trucks I have seen modeled they used Black. I have never seen the 1/1 truck up close but from all the pictures and watching the movie numerous times it looks black to me. When I get around to making mine it will be Black.

I saw one sell not long ago for a few dollars under $40.00 . I had it bookmarked but was out of town when the auction closed. It was the original issue.

Those rear tires are just awesome ! Where did you source them from ?

Wow - I never knew about this kit not being close to the 1/1. You have really put a lot of work into it and the results look Fantastic. Better yet you have showed the work in good clear pictures so others can follow the same path. Looking forward to your next progress post !

This is some really nice work on a truck that everyone has driven at one time. I have wanted one of these kits for years just for that reason. I never really cared for the "plastic trucks" when I worked on them but lots of great memories. I hope you post some pics of your boy's cars. That sounds like time well spent. Keep up the great work on the FLD !

Brian - This is one the nicest Diamond Reo's I have ever seen. It just takes me back to the days of "Table Top Trucking" in OO magazine. I really like what you have done and your interior detail is fantastic !

This is my Summers bounty, I just unpacked all these this morning. All I have done is buy and stack the shipping boxes in my room. I had forgotten about buying some of these kits.

Many years ago I belonged to a forum (aircraft) that was based out of the UK. It was a super place , there was only a handful of "Americans" everyone else was in the UK and surrounding countries. These guys built old Matchbox , Hellar and Airfix kits as those were available. No Aftermarket or Asian kits. They never griped about inaccuracies and such. But did they ever build the finest looking aircraft and 90% of them were painted with a brush and Humbrol paint - finishes that would shame an airbrush user. And their work area - a cigar box for tools and such and a small tray like something you could sit on your lap. No big dedicated rooms or workbenches , the lucky ones had a old vanity up in a dormer room to work off. But the models were all top notch and the guys and gals truly loved their hobby. That just impressed me to no end as you do not need a large work area to enjoy modeling. Those that do are fortunate , but it is not a requirement.

Very Sad news indeed , but legends never really die. His work has inspired thousands of modelers (maybe more). I can say his work definitely influenced me. Somewhere around here I have his book and all those great inserts that use to come with aircraft kits way back when. Bruce - what a Great memory , thanks for sharing it.

I really dont know how any of you "fair weather climate" guys get anything done. Summer for me is spending time with my Wife (she is a school teacher). We like to travel and goof off as much as we can.. I still look at the forum here on a regular basis over morning coffee most of the time, and follow all the great work and shenanigans. Soon as school goes back in session I find myself in the hobby room starting to clean up and organize the kits I had bought over the Summer. Then I get the motivation to start building again. Clayton - Spend as much time as you can with your Wife and little one , the hobby will work its way back in to your routine !
