  1. I got to use one of those when my daughter was young. She sat on the seat and the little zig zag things are where you place your feet when not pushing or you can use one leg to glide along on. Great fun and they twist enough to steer. It was just referred to as a sled.
  2. Wow that is a super looking rig. I would hate to have to drive that one as there is too much to keep clean and polish !
  3. Goodwrench3 - This is the paint I refered to over at Hanks, I have never had any problems with any can and use them until they are empty. (there is no humidity where I live) The flat white as mentioned is also a good primer.
  4. I like this stuff, easy to use , easy to sand and sticks real well. You can find it at almost any auto parts store.
  5. Terry, this just gets better everytime I look. Wow - this is a Great Combo !
  6. Thank you guys, everytime I look at it I see all my mistakes . I mainly wanted to show off the "truck stop blue sparkle genuine accessory shift knob"
  7. Howdy Jeff, Welcome to a great forum with a lot of truck builders. Transmission color - I normally use a red , blue or black. Those are the colors I remember from working on class 8 trucks, Sometimes they were painted body color but it was obvious they had been painted with the truck.
  8. I got these in today straight from Tokyo Japan. These are awesome and I highly recommend them to anyone with a 1/32 Semi. The tires are rubber, great tread design Yokohama brand. Rear wheels have a choice of 4 hubs, front 3 hubs. Oh yes even comes with a spare tire (11 total) , rim and a mounting bracket. I have seen other sizes and wheel styles also. I got the 22.5 's
  9. I worked for a Construction / Mining Contractor that used the same scheme on all their Peterbilts. I have drug my feet on this chore as long as I could - I present to you the truckers office. Thanks for looking and commenting - Time to finish this one up
  10. I contacted Testor/ Rustoleum last month over the phone and they were right on top of my problem. (airbrush) Gave me an RO # and all went well.
  11. I stocked up on a few of these. My Son will be home on Leave for the month of May. He might want to build something.
  12. This is a spectacular WWS. I would have to say what grabs my attention the most is the grungy wheels. Top notch all the way
  13. Those would be boiler rivets. I sanded mine smooth and will do any future kit of the same.
  14. Starting to add some "cab candy" . I spent the morning scouring my bench looking for the door handles I robbed from a Revell '69 Nova kit, cant find them anywhere. It is always something Thanks for looking
  15. I remember seeing those - I think X-acto called it a "Master shipbuilder set" or something similar. Nice find , let me know if you ever want to part with it.
  16. Most guys that narrowed theirs removed 3/16" out of the center. The steps seem to be troublesome also , stripping them of the chrome and thinning them seemed to be the cure.
  17. Angelo , Those stripes look fantastic with that color. Dont stress out about that seam, very few of these kits are ever seen without it.
  18. I have the Freightliner FLC kit for the donor. They suggest the FLD but you cant find that one as easily or gently priced . (frame is the same anyway)
  19. My thoughts exactly. Back in '69 the truck aftermarket would of been pretty scarce. Fancy wheels were slim to none and most likely very pricey.
  20. Kevin, I like that Freightliner kit , As said the tub is tight - take a sanding block to the sides and back and all will be good. The front axle is to wide, I cant remember at the moment on how much to shorten it . I left the front brake drums off of mine and it was ok. Read back on about 5 - 6 of these WIP's and learn the quirks. One other thing AMT instructions show the cab release handles upside down. Cab handles points down not up !
  21. Most excellent truck models. Thank you for sharing them.
  22. Friday was a good mail day, got some much needed supplies and my resin wheels and tires from Dave at AITM. Thanks for looking
  23. I would rather give credit to someone who doesn't delete their complete thread after a week. Rule of the internet - without pics it didn't happen !
  24. Awesome Dennis, This trio is going to be a one of a kind display. What are you going to have there about 3 lbs of resin tires and wheels ? Better build that shelf stout so it does not sag !
