What does the English speaking world call this?
Old Buckaroo replied to Atmobil's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I got to use one of those when my daughter was young. She sat on the seat and the little zig zag things are where you place your feet when not pushing or you can use one leg to glide along on. Great fun and they twist enough to steer. It was just referred to as a sled. -
1/16 Peterbilt 359
Old Buckaroo replied to Ken Gilkeson's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Wow that is a super looking rig. I would hate to have to drive that one as there is too much to keep clean and polish ! -
Goodwrench3 - This is the paint I refered to over at Hanks, I have never had any problems with any can and use them until they are empty. (there is no humidity where I live) The flat white as mentioned is also a good primer.

Truck Kits You've Scored Recently
Old Buckaroo replied to Superpeterbilt's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I got these in today straight from Tokyo Japan. These are awesome and I highly recommend them to anyone with a 1/32 Semi. The tires are rubber, great tread design Yokohama brand. Rear wheels have a choice of 4 hubs, front 3 hubs. Oh yes even comes with a spare tire (11 total) , rim and a mounting bracket. I have seen other sizes and wheel styles also. I got the 22.5 's -

I worked for a Construction / Mining Contractor that used the same scheme on all their Peterbilts. I have drug my feet on this chore as long as I could - I present to you the truckers office. Thanks for looking and commenting - Time to finish this one up -

I stocked up on a few of these. My Son will be home on Leave for the month of May. He might want to build something. -

Those would be boiler rivets. I sanded mine smooth and will do any future kit of the same. -

Old Buckaroo replied to BubbaJoe's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I remember seeing those - I think X-acto called it a "Master shipbuilder set" or something similar. Nice find , let me know if you ever want to part with it. -

Most guys that narrowed theirs removed 3/16" out of the center. The steps seem to be troublesome also , stripping them of the chrome and thinning them seemed to be the cure. -

Angelo , Those stripes look fantastic with that color. Dont stress out about that seam, very few of these kits are ever seen without it. -

I have the Freightliner FLC kit for the donor. They suggest the FLD but you cant find that one as easily or gently priced . (frame is the same anyway) -

Kevin, I like that Freightliner kit , As said the tub is tight - take a sanding block to the sides and back and all will be good. The front axle is to wide, I cant remember at the moment on how much to shorten it . I left the front brake drums off of mine and it was ok. Read back on about 5 - 6 of these WIP's and learn the quirks. One other thing AMT instructions show the cab release handles upside down. Cab handles points down not up ! -

I would rather give credit to someone who doesn't delete their complete thread after a week. Rule of the internet - without pics it didn't happen !
