  1. I like it ! Looks just like the real ones I see rumble by everyday. Really nice work ! One thing I did notice today is the mud on the trailers starts topside and runs down from where the logs are being placed. Had a zebra stripe effect , I wish I could of gotten a picture.
  2. Yippeeeee ! Tower has them in stock http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXEHMD&P=W
  3. Now that is cool, you always can pull something other then a cat out of the bag ! What a great idea Any ideas for a load yet ?
  4. Oh yeah she is styling now ,Looking real good ! Where did you find the lights you used ?
  5. My Dad was a bus mechanic after he retired from the Navy (1964) . I remember seeing those coaches as a young boy and still remember how magnificent they looked. So clean and lots of shiny on them. This is some spectacular work, looking forward to seeing more of it.
  6. So cool, what a great idea and you were able to make the pup as well. It definitely looks like it has hauled some loads. Thanks for all the tips ! Now that I have seen it - it seems like that Pete is quite the "photo bomber"
  7. Every time I look at this I like it even more . Gives me an idea to build a "Service / oiler truck" like I use to drive. It is also nice to see old builds rebuilt into something so cool.
  8. Very nice - I was hooked as soon as I saw the Black with Gold stripping. Then I noticed all the rest of the details You did a superb job and your scratch building is top notch !
  9. Now that made me laugh Fantastic looking wrecker and lots of eye candy in the background !
  10. Alan - no idea , but I know my email is very unreliable. Half the stuff I send to my son he never gets - so maybe Eric never got it ? I would call the number Dennis supplied. Wow - spray cans might be tough to find. Do you have Home Depot or Lowes ? Perhaps they might have "accent colors"
  11. The only thing I have on my paint rack is Model Master Panther Pink and it looks close to your cab color. Do you have an airbrush ? You can always lighten with white to get closer to the pink you want. Years ago I used "nail polish" for custom colors , they sprayed pretty good after thinning. That is some spectacular styrene work , and it starting to take on the shape of the real one.
  12. Quite the difference from a "Colorado Hay Hauler" Nice pics for modelers Clayton !
  13. I dont know how I missed this one. I am floored by this impressive build - and it started out as a snap kit.. Wow ! Very nice work
  14. That looks really good, thanks for taking the time to post this. Very useful information for an upcoming project.
  15. I really like the tires on this truck - are those from the kit ?
  16. I noticed last time I looked at them at Tower Hobbies they were limited stock - now they have none (unless I am not seeing them) That is too bad - nice kit.
  17. Mark - I really like the way you did the rear wheels.
  18. Nice to see you building this one, especially since your Dad had built it once. Engine looks great, keep us up to date with progress.
  19. Wow - what a beauty ! Nice all the way around. Don't be shy about showing more of your oldies.
  20. Thanks Mark, go back and check out page 1 of this build.
  21. Thank you everyone for the comments and well wishes for the move. I also painted the air deflector for this kit black. I did not mount it for obvious reasons. I really want to find some logos for this truck and some plates for it. Also I normally build a "first kit" clean to learn the quirks then the next of the same will show a rougher life. What do you think - should this truck be pulling a Tanker ?
  22. Jeff - yes the front wheels are poseable. Thank you everyone who followed the progress of this truck. I finished it up as much as I was going to do as it will be packed away for a move to Montana in July. More pics - http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=90085#entry1191810
  23. My goal was to finish this before June 1. Many of you sharp eyed guys will notice a few things not on the Truck - Mirror cross brace, rear mudflaps, stack grab handles. (mirrors are on temporary with white glue as well as the pogo stick) Sadly this will be packed away starting tomorrow 6/1 for a move to Montana. This is the first Peterbilt I have ever built, I am sure I logged in close to 100 hrs at Tims Trucks The pics The build can be seen here http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=87574 I gave this truck poseable front wheels - another first. Thanks for looking, hope you like it as much as I did enjoy assembling it.
  24. More pics of the Dozer http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=69229&hl=
  25. Well that looks pretty nice to me. This is a pretty nice forum you have landed at with some really helpful modelers. I started building trucks as a teenager moved on to other models and went back to Big Rigs 35 years later.
