  1. Now I could go for a '67-'68 Cougar! It's something I don't have and anyone care for an Eliminator version??
  2. I want to add that yes, going to the NNL East and either voicing your opinion directly to Ed Sexton, or making your desires known on the "Most Wanted" list that's been there, does yield results. There's certain kits that are about to come out, or have already been released that are now reality that were on that list. Ed does listen BTW........some of the suggestions that I mentioned to him he wrote down on his personal note pad.
  3. Tim! You're killing us! Can you give a teeny weeny, itsy bitsy hint as to what this kit is NOT?? In other words, is it something mainstream that hasn't been done before (you mentioned all new tooling), or is it a variation that we've seen before in a particular genre (street rod)? Come on.........I know they're watching your house, but this will kill me before tomorrow!
  4. Man, I'd LOVE to see an all new glue kit of this! My Dad wanted one of these badly (actually a '61) when these were new, but couldn't afford it as it was something like $5000 out the door, and that's what he made in an entire year back then. Not to mention my Mom was expecting me, so there's no way he could afford the price tag on that with a new baby on the way! I've got a very clean '61 New Yorker that's a someday project of mine to turn into a 300G.................guess I'll have to be content with that as unfortunately, I don't see this coming to light anytime soon.
  5. Absolutely GORGEOUS! Not my favorite year of Hudson (I like the '53 Hollywood Hardtops), but that is a VERY NICE and super clean build!
  6. Hmmm...........that's funny you mentioned that Andy, because when I spoke to Ed Sexton personally about that car, I suggested that's what they could use as a starting point. Mechanically that is, as of course the bodies are different save for the windshield and A pillars. We'll see..........
  7. If it were me, I'd try to find junker bodies of the ones you're looking for and experiment on those. Kits are expensive enough as it is without hacking up the bodies for something that you're not totally familiar with. You can root around on the 'Bay to find them, or if they're are any local shows coming up that you know about, there are bound to be vendors that are selling junk bodies of those. In the case of my Green Hornet build, that was a junker '66 Mustang I got off of eBay as I wanted just a portion of the upper half. I have an entire '66 Mustang kit that I didn't want to hack up just for the roof. There may even be folks right here on the board that may want to get rid of some junker bodies. As far as what to use------whatever's available. Exacto blade, Dremel Moto-tool, thread, whatever's needed to get the job done. I don't use any kind of fancy measuring instruments per se (architects dividers maybe), but go mostly on what "looks right" to me. Others I'm sure will have some more specific things they use to cut apart plastic bodies.
  8. I'm a little late to the party, but certainly yes!.........I'm a big believer in fusing cars together if need be! My (much seen now) '59 Chevy, with a '60 roof to give it a more accurate appearance........... Removed the (IMO) incorrect '59 roof... I replaced it with the more accurate roof from the '60 which to my eyes has a more accurate windshield shape header, as well as a more correct upper rear window shape. And of course, my current project------this Shelby Green Hornet which I used the roof, trunk, and the upper part of the rear quarters of the '66 Mustang, onto the lower body of the '68 Shelby Mustang to get the correct two door hardtop shape. Something that for whatever reason, has never been modeled for the '67-'68 Mustangs. Sometimes fusing or "kitbashing" two bodies together is the only way to get the body style, custom, or concept you're after.
  9. You can try here Mike.
  10. I have other pics of this car which show the back end ('58 taillights and backup lamps), and some black and white photos of the interior. Many years ago, this car was featured in a Corvette magazine in full color and I sure wish I had the article now. It got lost (or tossed out) over the years, and it would be nice if the street SR-2 would turn up at a show somewhere where more pics of it can be seen. If I do another C1 Corvette, it'll more than likely be this one. It's been on my mind for years, and I have all the bits and pieces to make it come together. The ambition will strike me at some point..............someday! Your SR-2 will be an interesting build---------it's a somewhat obscure racing car of the '50's that doesn't get as much attention as the Ferraris and Maseratis of the era for instance.
  11. Wow! One of my favorite Corvette racers! In fact, the road car is a "grail" build of mine that I want to do someday. You probably know it as the Harlowe Curtice car which was given to him back in '56.
  12. Excellent! I just dropped him a line about the grille.....he does excellent work as I got his corrected wheelcovers for that kit a while back and they're VERY NICE!
  13. Bill, I have this very same promo and as I look at it, the only way to perhaps get the glass out is to very gently squeeze the vent windows, with maybe doing one side at first. I can't see any other way to take the glass out, and as you said there's the risk of cracking the glass, or damaging the A pillar. Unfortunately, the glass has been made to "lock" in place once installed as you mentioned. I guess the figured that once together, it wouldn't have a chance of the glass popping out, or crazies like us that want to take it apart and redo it! Hope this helps!
  14. Randy, I think the same can be said for Norm also. Both of them are in their 70's and it gets a little tough as time wears on. Yeah, NNL East is one of if not the biggest show on the east coast. So much there, it can be difficult to take it all in for the five hours the show is on!
  15. Ok fellas, check out their page here!
  16. Amazing!! I might just break the bank and check that stuff out in 3D!!
  17. Good models SHOULD NOT roll! ALL the models I build have the wheels glued in place because as Tom said, "gravity" happens when you least expect it! I also have cats, and cats LOVE things that roll! Of course, most of of my models are in cases, but I don't like them rolling around even in a display case.
  18. John! That's a neat trick! I'll have to try something like that whenever I'm not in the mood for fully detailed chassis'! This is one beautiful creation you're bringing together John, and it's funny---------I've been seeing '58 Fords turn up on eBay somewhat regularly for a while, and now I'm tempted to pick up one!
  19. At this past NNL East, I got to have a very lengthy and nice conversation with Juha. It was the first time I had met him, and I got some very nice compliments from him, and I to him. He was set up at a table next to Tapani Rauramo (Airtrax Resin), and one of my regrets is that I didn't pick up one of Tapani's absolutely beautiful Aston Martin kits! I had the money then and didn't get it...........now I don't have the money and want one! I got some neat insight into how Juha does certain things, and I gotta tell you-----pictures don't do his models justice! You HAVE to see them in person to be taken aback as to how nice they truly are! I didn't think to take a picture of him, but several people that were around us did, so somewhere out there in the hinterlands of someone's hard discs is a picture of Juha there at the show, and me talking to him.
  20. I'm not familiar with that kit in the first go round, but I can betcha those nice meaty tires aren't in there! More reason for folks to get ticked off when what's shown isn't quite representative of what's in the box!
  21. They're Back!! Take a look here if you want 'em! Act fast as he's only got a few sets------I got mine!
  22. I've got my eye on one of those too David! That stuck out at me instantly not long after the video started! Here in my area we have an annual toy show (York, PA) that one of our vendors in our local club has a space. It's held every year the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and hopefully that kit will be out then. Not sure what the list price will be, but it'll be definitely worth it as that's one of those kits that once gone, will go for a pretty penny!
  23. Round 2's latest and greatest! I think at least one of the model kits will get most of you guy's attention.............
