  1. thanks! I do enjoy the big old mopars! after looking at the pics i took, i wasn't happy with the throttle return spring! i bent it a bit when i stuck it on and it was a bit wonky! so i made up a new one i think looks much better!
  2. thanks!, heater hose is just some old headphone wires. decals come from the cuda kit. i decided to use the automatic transmission from the hemi dart kit.
  3. Thanks guys, I've just be following a guy on YouTube that's been showing dash detailing so I used some of his method. Only I prefer to use bare metal foil as the base layer so you can get the chrome trim effect. It's just black washes in the gauges. for wood grain I paint the whole area in tan, then put random lines of dark brown and black around. Then go over with really thinned down tamiya clear red, or orange depending on the color you want the wood, clear yellow could be used to,Then I clear everything and then go back with black artist oil to add some depth. Just add it in some spots right from the tube and lightly blend it out. I don't use it like a "wash"
  4. got motivated to work on this kit. did some dashboard painting!
  5. Those are great! I really like the charger picture looks real!

  9. been noticing lots of Mopars being posted lately! it got me in the mood to start on this kit. going for a stockish street machine look I like to start with the engine, this is what I have finished so far. . painted with craft acrylic turquoise. I just added the plug wires tonight. will try to finish this motor up over the next couple days!
  10. Looks great man! Nice work
  11. I'm working out of a storage closet , while small it does the job! One day I'll have a house and be able to have a proper workshop lol
  12. I just use a piece of newspaper on top of my workbench does the trick!
  13. Those are crimp beads from Michaels, they come round, but they are brass and I held them in tweezers and filed them into hex shapes, the bend is aluminum mechanics wire, just happened to be the right size.
  14. thanks! I don't really use washes, I mainly "dry brush" artist oils over my stuff, If I want a more dirty look I'll cover the area completely in a dark color oil paint and then wipe it off and blend it out with a soft brush. dry brushing white over hoses and wires is a simple way to get a realistic effect!
  15. thanks! That's just Chrome foil. Not sure about aftermarket parts I've just been using random wires and jewelry beads for my fittings and stuff. Only aftermarket stuff is the decal sheet and seatbelt buckles which are actually 1/20 scale lol
  16. heres a few mock up pics so you guys can see how shes looking! im not quite done polishing the paint out, i found a couple spots that need a bit more sanding out!
  17. Hey, I did do a bit more on the engine. Just been working on some other builds lately. But I think I'll get back on this car for a while now, there's just so much clean up on the parts I haven't wanted to work on it lol. sorry the other pics are gone, something happened with my albums on the tinypic site.
  18. I enjoy nascar models still, however not really interested in cars from early 2000 to now,I wish more models of 80s cars were re issued!, I think also nascar is not what it once was for a lot of fans, it's become an almost scripted drama reality show..
  19. I use I use a talon with a fan spray tip to paint cars it's great!, parts are much cheaper and probably easier to get also. made in USA by Americans to if that counts for anything
  20. Thanks! Just homemade, coke can aluminum and thin wire.
  21. hey,so I've been working on this Hemi Cuda for a few nights, so far seems like a really nice kit. I always build the engines first, I also got the body cleaned up and fixed those "fender flares" the kit has lol, stay tuned thanks for looking!
