  1. Yeah, according to their website there are at least 6 episodes listed for November, not shure how many total. And it is good that somebody got through to Foose that this show isn't about him (couldn't have been easy, he thinks everything is about him). http://dhd.discovery.com/tv-schedules/series.html?paid=66.16725.130015.39813.4
  2. Has anyone else been watching the new show on HDTheater ??? It's called American Icon-- The Hot Rod, if you want to see some great vintage footage and hear the stories of the way things were you have got to see this show. This has to be the best thing on TV !!!!!
  3. I'm not sure about those cars but does that junkyard have any other "interesting" cars..........like that 69 Coronet I see in the background of the first pic ???
  4. Actually, the fan is driven off of the rear of the camshaft via a normal belt drive which also turned the waterpump (which is at the front of the engine compartment....) These pictures are of the AMT 1/12 scale Cord engine.....
  5. A 60 Chevy..........gonna work on some Night Moves ???
  6. I was at the iHobby show and saw the signboard that had this same announcement. They also had a signboard that mentioned something about a new marketing campaign that would make them more visible in the media and on social networking sites. I mentioned this on "another" model website and it seemed to fall on deaf ears. At least they are looking at new ways of getting the hobby out there.
  7. I was thinking about going this weekend. Interesting that I can't find any info about Round 2 being there at all, under AMT, MPC, or Round 2........I did see Hawk and Moebus though. www.ihobbyexpo.com
  8. Thanks Mike........Decals by Lucas seems to be what I was looking for.
  9. Was anybody else at the Dupage Toy show today ??? I went and saw a vendor who was selling drag racing decals........I looked and wanted but didn't buy. I noticed he had "decals by ___ .com " on all of his sheets but I can't remember the name so I can find I know I was looking at a decal sheet for Larry Griffith's S/S Hemi Dart and Project Six Pack 69 Road Runner. Was anybody else there that remembers the name of the vendor ??? thanks in advance for the help.....
  10. Thanks for the kind words Cecil........(I'll just ignore the part about ORR....). Graduation is over and I'm not sure how much longer my show will be posted so I put out 1 more last call to listen and download them. Some great classic rock and forgotten songs on every show along with current artist like Todd Snider........all downloads are FREE !!!!! In a few days I might have an update on a new place to hear me over the internet on another show, as soon as I know something I will update this thread again........Thanks for listening !!! 11. Only a couple more weeks are left to download all or any Slantasaurus' Rock & Racing. Show #23 features my interview with Rich Christensen of Speed's TV series Pinks All Out. All download are FREE !!!! At some point in the near (hopefully) future I would like to continue these podcast...........I'll post when I have that all set up and ready to go, but it might not be free then...... Thanks for tuning in to Slantasaurus' Rock & Racing, hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed doing it !!! www.jamzonair.com just go to Music Shows and look down the list....
  12. I have 4 of these kits, 3 of the 90's issue and 1 80's issue. I am quite surprised that noone has mentioned the 1 major error in the kit. The hood is molded with 2 ribs on it where there should only be 1. It would take a LOT of work to correct it though as the number of ribs are correct, just placed wrong. I have only started 1 of the 4 kits that I have and have only built the engine in that kit and added some details like fuel and spark plug wires. My goal is to build all of these kits eventually and donate at least 1 of them to the ACD Museum. I also want to convert 1 of them into the Hardtop that was custom built for the president of Champion Spark Plugs, the 1:1 car is in main showroom of the ACD Museum, and I have plenty of reference pics of it. If you need any reference pics of Cords just check my Photobuckets, I have albums of the ACD Museum and the ACD Parade from the last 5 years and several more in older photos that aren't digital. I even crawled under one of the cars in the Museum so I could get good chassis pics help in building the 1/12 scale kit, that was back in the mid-90's before the Museum was remodeled upstairs. If Art Anderson is still looking in, I hope to see you in Auburn this year..........I'll be at the Parade and Kruse....er, Russo (or whatever they're going to call it....) Auction on Saturday. PM me if you're going.
  13. Slantasaurus's Rock & Racing show #7 is now available for download on www.jamzonair.com . It's listed under music shows.......
  14. Hasn't anybody seen my post in the link section at the bottom of the page ??? I'm doing a weekly hour long podcast available free. I need more listeners !!!! I mostly play classic rock, but songs you don't hear. I also give racing upadates for Nascar, NHRA, F-1, etc. Slantasaurus' Rock & Racing...... www.jamzonair.com it's listed under music shows. Let me know if ya like it.
  15. Show #6 is now posted featuring Live music. www.jamzonair.com
  16. I was awake and didn't notice it until I saw news stories on the net a few hours later. I did feel the Madrid quake back in the late 80's.....only because I happened to be leaning against a wall at the time. I thought a truck drove by until I heard the news a few hours later. Harry, I thought you were closer to Elk Grove ??? Anyone going to the Toy Show on Feb 28 ???
  17. Since getting laid off last summer I started going back to school, now I have my own "radio" show. Actually it's a weekly 1 hour Podcast available for download. There is no cost, downloads are completely free, no salesman will call. As the name implies, I play music and give updates on the major racing series. The first 3 shows are posted now there will be at least 12 maybe more if people like it. Just go to www.jamzonair.com , scroll over the Music Shows tab and a menu will drop down, look for Slantasaurus' Rock and Racing, download and tell me what you think. You can contact me here or contact me through the website. I'm also doing a blog if you would like to follow that too.
  18. I remember many months ago that Round 2 announced that they were going to reissue the 1/16 Richard Petty Nascar Charger kit. I've looked through all of the threads about the iHobby expo a few weeks ago and I can't find it anywhere in any of the announcements. Looking at Round 2's website, I can't find any mention of it either. I know they had some pictures there several months ago. Does anyone know the current status of this reissue ???
  19. Doesn't anyone remember that in 1968 Richard "The King" Petty showed up at Daytona Speedweeks with a 68 Road Runner with a vinyl top ??? When asked he told people that is was "for aerodynamics, like the dimples on a golf ball".......Of course the "real" story was that they had sectioned the roof and made so many changes to the car that the vinyl top covered up most of the work, and also distracted people from some of the other things they did to the car. It was more than just race wins that earned him the name KING.
  20. After the day that I've been having, I NEEDED some good news...........and this is it !!!!!!!!
  21. I'm willing to bet that we'll never see a 75-77 Chrysler Cordoba...........
  22. You have about as many tanks as my best friend. He has a little of everything from aquatic frogs to a bass he caught at a local pond. I used to have a 30 gal, but I'm not good at keeping up with them though. I've thought about setting up another tank just to give my cats something to do......fish tanks are like cat TV.
  23. Wasn't this kit modeled durring the same era as the Monogram Rommell's Rod Tom Daniels kit??? Wasn't this also from the same era that one of the top rated TV shows was Hogan's Heros??? Put things into perspective, times change along with fads and fashon. What was tolerable 40 years ago is very different than what is acceptible today. Also, didn't Aurora have a series of sports car kits with WW2 style graphics ? We live in a different world today,......... mostly for the better.
  24. OK, I haven't been here in a long time, the site looks very different from what I remember. My last computer had some sort of issue with this site and every time I tried to post I would get kicked off line, never could figure out the problem, never happened with any other site. I have a couple projects that are almost finished, but finding time to build is always a problem. Maybe some of you guys can prod me along into finishing some of them. I am looking forward to spending more time here now that I can use the site again. Thanks for your time, keep building, Ron-slantasaurus
  25. I'm NOT a Toyota fan, but I do know David Reutimann. Can't wait to see this one finished.
