  1. There is a world of difference between the AMT GTX and Revell/Monogram kits, for one the 71 GTX kit is 1/24 scale, you'd be better off with an AMT 71 Charger. As I've thought about it some more, you might actually be better off getting the reissued AMT 70 Super Bee because you would still need the bucket seats from that kit as I remember the pro street version only has custom buckets. The chassis in the reissued 70 Super Bee is exactly the same as what would be in the 69 GTX, the GTX has 440 4bbl parts that aren't in other versions but you mentioned you need the 6bbl anyway (the GTX has 6bbl parts too, along with a Hemi). If you don't want to get another 70 Bee, I might (haven't checked) have a set of the bucket seats you would need, if I have them I'd trade them for the GTX 440 intake and carb... The B/M Camaro does have a nice set of Cragars, the Revell 67 Charger also has a set but all 4 are the same, not deep like the rears on the Camaro.
  2. No, it's not held together with duct tape..........
  3. You might want to get AMT's reissued 69 GTX kit, it will have the chassis and 440 engine you need for the Bee and all of the pro street stuff from the Bee will fit under the GTX. For the hood, you'll have to go resin as no kit has the standard "pitchfork" hood.
  4. Go football...........and don't come back !!!!!!!
  5. I would build this kit as an R/T and get this kit http://www.revell.com/model-kits/cars/85-2596.html to build as a correct T/A.
  6. ....and we can only hope this rat thing ends before someone gets tetnuis......
  7. If you need reference pictures for a Ford this site might be some help. They're supposed to be adding more every week............ http://ford.artehouse.com/perl/home.pl
  8. I'll offer up 2 tips I've used before. Liquid mask like Ambroid or Micro-Mark can be found at Michael's or hobby shops, this stuff will seal the paint and won't bleed. The second tip is for use with tape, after taping everything off spray a light coat of clear before your second color. The clear coat will seal the tape and keep the second color from bleeding.
  9. Could somebody explane to me what the last 10 post have had to do with Ferrari ??? This was a post about Ferrari wasn't it ???
  10. Ferrari owner don't live in the same world as the rest of us.
  11. ........don't get me started on Chicago traffic.........I could be a poster child for road rage. Unless you want to talk about Winwood, Capaldi, Mason, and Wood, then I love Traffic !!!!
  12. I didn't mean anything personal in my post. I just don't understand human nature to complain about weather no matter where a person lives. I'm in Chicago, sometimes we get 20+" of snow, I know that and I don't complain. It happens, but not that often. I lived in Florida for a year, people used to complain about how hot it was. I'd look at them sideways and say "you're in Florida in July, of course it F#@*n' hot !!!". I've never been to Arizona but people talk about the heat there, it's a desert, what did you expect. Wasn't it Mark Twain who said "Everyone complains about the weather but nobody does anything about it." That's my take, quit worring and complaing about things you can't change and focus on the stuff you can. I'll get off my soapbox now before I start going on about climate change. Just remember, don't ever take me too seriously, as Todd Snider says "I'm not trying to change anyones mind about anything, I'm just trying to ease my mind about everything"........
  13. October 1999 was the cover date.........but it was probably several weeks if not months late...
  14. .......And it's taken you guys in AZ how long to dig out ???.......Yeah, I thought so......kwityerbitchin........
  15. I'd have to double check but I think the Daytona kit uses the regular 69 Charger kit hood, if nothing else they have the standard 69 body that would just need the backlight and trunk lid changes. Minimal changes for a new variation.
  16. Thought of another easy one, Revell 69 Charger Daytona to 69 Charger 500. All they would have to do is a grille and bumper.
  17. I don't think Chrysler ever made Superbird blueprints, they just winged it........
  18. As daylight breaks I just went upstairs to check conditions........looking out the front door, most of our yard has 6"-12" with a 30" snow drift just in front of the front steps, not too bad. And the street seems to be driveable from the 2 cars I saw go by. We had a political sign out by the fron sidewalk but now it seems to be up by the house in front of my bedroom, not sure how that happened....???.....looking out my back door (good song.......), 3 1/2 foot snow drifts with what looks like at least 2 foot elsewhere, can't tell how bad the alley is. Still snowing but not too bad. It's hard to see out back as the door is completely covered with snow. Its gonna be fun trying to get to the garage to get the shovel and start digging out but I'm in no hurry, it'll be there later........
  19. Chicago is now closed.......please come back tomorrow when we reopen for business....
  20. ........but you're missing all the "fun" here.......
  21. A section of I-80 is closed west of Joliet, Lake Shore Drive in Chicago is closed and part of the roof is being blown off Wrigley Field (and the Cubs aren't even playing ) so part of Clark St and Addison are closed........ I looked out my back window about 15 minutes ago and I can't really tell how much snow we've got. Whats in the backyard has drifted and what would be on the garage roof has blown off because its so windy. I live 3 blocks away from one of the salt depots but I haven't noticed many trucks driving by here so I'm not sure whats going on.........
  22. Strange that the 57 Chevy became an icon seeing as it was a car that never should have been........Chevy was in a 2 year styling cycle durring that time frame but a strike delayed things and the 57 became a hold over and the 58 became a 1 year only. Also, in 57 Ford actually outsold Chevy that year. I've always wanted to build a kit of a 57 Chevy the way GM "wanted to", you can see some of the 57/58 styling cues in the front bumper, the 57 is closer to the 58 than the 55/56, etc While I will agree the 49 Olds would be a "nitch" kit, I think a 50 Stude would do well. If you remember when that other magazine used to do a yearly pole, the Stude was always one of the most requested and going through some back issues a while ago I noticed that most of the others on the most wanted list have been done since then.

  24. I like this one better but they got the translation all wrong........it's actually a prototype for the 2012 Cherry.... http://www.wonderhowto.com/wonderment/working-bugatti-veyron-built-with-10-000-empty-cigarette-packs-0117066/
