Here are a few photos of the body work. Both bodies did strip well and you can see that in these photos. You can also see the resin replacement cowl and core support.

Here is some of what I started with. These pictures are from the eBay auction. I had to use parts of both of these bodies to build this car. The blue body is what I chose to start with. I needed to replace the cowl with a resin piece that I had cast. I also had to use the uncut rear wheel openings from the red/blue body. You can see that they were enlarged on the blue body.

I thought I would take the time and show off one of my builds that I finished up earlier this year. I have not been posting much of my stuff or even taking photos of what I have been up to. Here is one of my big restoration projects. This took a few years to gather everything up and get the project going. This is a Johan 69 Javelin SST that I built starting with two broken up bodies that I will post up also. But first here is the finished build. Any questions just ask and I will do my best to answer them.

Will GM's problems ever end?
Sport Suburban replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The fact that the part was changed and the part number was not is proof that somebody was hiding something. Anytime the part is revised or a change is made in any way they have to change the part number. This is required by the industry and even happens when a vender change is made. This is done so they can track any emerging issues. -
It seems like it is all AFX N Scale stuff. Maybe her ex is rdxsfan2!

Revell Sox & Martin Pro Stock Cuda
Sport Suburban replied to kitswapper's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I read that the 70 Cuda that they raced was closer to stock and was not as competitive. The 71 car was an all new car with many mods that they got away with. First thing that comes to mind is the wheelbase on the 71 car was altered. It measured out to spec but both the rear suspension and front suspension were moved foward the same amount. That was one of the reasons the 71 car has sheet metal inner fenders. -
That chassis will straiten out. The starter you get it the better but, Once all the engine compartment parts are glued to it. Then it fits the body pretty tight. That plus glueing the chassis to the interior tub should hold it in place.

'71 Hemi Cuda 'vert sells for $3.5M
Sport Suburban replied to CJ1971's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That's a bargain. The only legal to own 1933 double eagle gold coin sold for 7.5 million in 2002! You can't drive the coin! -
You have got to be kidding me?!

20 for a 1/2 gallon. How far will that get you? I think I'll keep my gas can. -

Sport Suburban replied to my80malibu's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Gabe, like others have said. Missing link casts some great stuff. I think I have about 10 of there kits, all beautifully done. My only suggestion is don't wait. Many of my kits are not available anymore. -
You did a nice job. What kit did you start with? Both Revell and AMT have a 56 Thunderbird. No one has made a 55 Thunderbird in 1/25 or 1/24 scale. Just the big AMT 1/16 kit.
-
This did not start out as a review. The first post was about the only flaws in the instructions. Nothing about the actual kit other than the fact that it did not have the hard top that the original 58 kit did not contain either.
-
These are nice kits and it great to have at least one of them back. My 58 promodeler kit was missing the printed white wall tires. anybody willing to trade a set of those tires? I have a spare hardtop from the 59 kit. BTW the 59 kit had black walls only for the stock version.

These are nice. I love them!

I too like everything but the rear spoiler. I really like the headlight covers. Nice job!

1970 Plymouth Duster
Sport Suburban replied to 69NovaYenko's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
My research on the body's was that the 70 and 71 used all the same steel. The grills are different and the trunk peak showed up on 72 and later models. That yellow 71 has a 72 and later trunk on it. -

Sport Suburban replied to 69NovaYenko's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I missed the MPC part and was thinking of the AMT 71 Duster 340. Will the 71 Demon actually re released? It was announced quite some time ago. Plus was a reissue announced a few years back then cancelled. -
Buried Belvedere
Sport Suburban replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It may be important to that community but it was a failure and an embarrassment at the opening. That is why the city wants no part of it. Would you want your city's tax dollars spent on such a car to preserve and transport that embarrassment. I understand that it is so fragile and thin in spots that any vibrations from transport could shake it apart. -

Greg, I have been wanting one of these also. Is anyone mastering one? If not maybe I will when I get back to my build.
