  1. That chassis will straiten out. The starter you get it the better but, Once all the engine compartment parts are glued to it. Then it fits the body pretty tight. That plus glueing the chassis to the interior tub should hold it in place.
  2. That's a bargain. The only legal to own 1933 double eagle gold coin sold for 7.5 million in 2002! You can't drive the coin!
  3. 20 for a 1/2 gallon. How far will that get you? I think I'll keep my gas can.
  4. Now I'm all bummed out. I think I'll go back in the hobby room and build a model. That always cheers me up.
  5. Gabe, like others have said. Missing link casts some great stuff. I think I have about 10 of there kits, all beautifully done. My only suggestion is don't wait. Many of my kits are not available anymore.
  6. You did a nice job. What kit did you start with? Both Revell and AMT have a 56 Thunderbird. No one has made a 55 Thunderbird in 1/25 or 1/24 scale. Just the big AMT 1/16 kit.
  7. This did not start out as a review. The first post was about the only flaws in the instructions. Nothing about the actual kit other than the fact that it did not have the hard top that the original 58 kit did not contain either.
  8. These are nice kits and it great to have at least one of them back. My 58 promodeler kit was missing the printed white wall tires. anybody willing to trade a set of those tires? I have a spare hardtop from the 59 kit. BTW the 59 kit had black walls only for the stock version.
  9. These are nice. I love them!
  10. I too like everything but the rear spoiler. I really like the headlight covers. Nice job!
  11. I got mine a few days ago. It is real nice!
  12. If you need any help, I will gladly assemble one of those test shots for you!
  13. Wow. I'm in for the satellite for sure. I have already bought 5 of their kits. Now I need to build one.
  14. My research on the body's was that the 70 and 71 used all the same steel. The grills are different and the trunk peak showed up on 72 and later models. That yellow 71 has a 72 and later trunk on it.
  15. I missed the MPC part and was thinking of the AMT 71 Duster 340. Will the 71 Demon actually re released? It was announced quite some time ago. Plus was a reissue announced a few years back then cancelled.
  16. It may be important to that community but it was a failure and an embarrassment at the opening. That is why the city wants no part of it. Would you want your city's tax dollars spent on such a car to preserve and transport that embarrassment. I understand that it is so fragile and thin in spots that any vibrations from transport could shake it apart.
  17. Greg, I have been wanting one of these also. Is anyone mastering one? If not maybe I will when I get back to my build.
  18. Their were a few that cast a standard grill for the 71 Duster. It's the non shark tooth one that the 70 Duster used. I don't know of anyone who makes the 70 decals currently. I know that The Last Detail did offer a set with the full sheet that included the 71 and 72 Demon and also a set for The Sizzler plus a gold set of 71 Duster 340. They are now super rare and I have not seen a set in awhile. I have a set and plan to make a 70 with them. The Last Detail also offered a Demon set of decals only and they show up every now and then. I have not researched the differences in the interiors between the two years yet, but wonder what was changed. I have a 72 Duster 340 project started based on the 71 kit. That project has a lot more body work to it than I thought. It's almost ready for paint and I should have done the 70 first.
  19. I'm down for a resin copy. I love this car and so does my brother.
  20. They are pewter and were also from Mini Exotics. They were just sold separately.
  21. Rex, Those are nice. I have the 68 California Special, 427 Cobra Super Coupe, 68 Cougar GTE in my stash to build still. The 70 Shelby is being rebuilt currently and is too far along to stop now even though Revell put out the nice 69 Convertible kit.
  22. Yes they did and it was a decent kit. I don't know of anyone else offering the same subjects currently. I liked their kits and I wish they were still available. I have built the 68 Shelby convertible and the 69/70 Shelby convertible. I started the restoration of that old build 70 convertible when Revell announced theirs. Funny but I don't remember a 67 Shelby conversion from them. I had purchased one from MPB detail products in 89 to 91 time frame.
